In answer to Moroccan allegations that Mexico intended to reconsider its stance vis-a-vis the Western Sahara, a spokesman from the Information Ministry of the Saharan Republic revealed today what he called Morocco's utter failure in its strategy to destabilize the diplomatic stance of the Polisario Front.

The Saharan spokesman said that Mexico was among the states which considered that the diplomatic and military balance between the Saharan Arab Republic and the Moroccan kingdom had consolidated the current situation and had helped to find a peaceful, just and permanent solution to the dispute.

The Moroccan allegations, reported by the Moroccan news agency, concerned a member of the Mexican parliament who paid a visit to Morocco lately, but the Mexican official, who is the coordinator of foreign relations at the Senate, confirmed in a statement to the Spanish news agency lately that his country was committed to the guidelines drawn up by the UN in dealing with the long-standing dispute.
