The Communication Workers Union of the UK represents more than a quarter of a million workers in the telecommunications and postal industries. While originally based in BT (British Telecommunications) and the Post Office, the CWU now increasingly represents workers in sectors like Cable & Wireless Communications and the Cable Television companies.

War has blighted the lives of a peaceful people for over twenty years following the illegal occupation of the Western Sahara by Morocco. Huge numbers of Saharawi citizens now live in refugee camps run by Polisario, the liberation movement. I visited those camps in 1993. For more information, including links and a background briefing, please take a look at Western Sahara Update.

This page carries a few articles on a variety of technology and CWU related issues.
Click here for my Personal Home Page for my other (non-trade union related) interests, mainly jazz and a fair bit on mountaineering, with lots of new links to other climbing pages in Europe and the UK.
Finally, I live in Stirling, Scotland, and my local Euro MP, Alex Falconer (Member of the European Parliament for Central Scotland and Fife), has a page for his quarterly journal, The Citizen - Campaigning for Socialism. You can e-mail Alex at 104706.1600@compuserve.com.
