Sacked for defending Union Rights!
CRITCHLEY FAILS TO ERASE DISPUTE FROM HISTORY
Critchley Technology Limited, whose Label subsidiary is at the centre of a recognition dispute, has been accused by the CWU of trying to re-write history in an attempt to boost their share price. Critchley had asked the Union to delete all references to the dispute from the CWU web site.
This page is devoted solely to the 31 members of the Communication Workers Union in South Wales who were sacked on Thursday 6 February 1997 by Critchley Label Technology after taking protest action to defend their right to be represented by their union.
Over two years on the picket line, the Critchley 31 had the full support of the Communications International and the CWU who have organised international support in solidarity with this courageous struggle.

"The Website at Critchley Labels in Croespenmaen, south-east Wales, recently called for an 'electronic picket' of the plant.
"For 24 hours, sister organisations of the British Communications Workers Union around the world jammed the company's faxes, e-mail addresses and Websites to stop the business receiving orders."

HISTORIC BREAKTHROUGH IN UK'S LONGEST STRIKE
CWU General Secretary Derek Hodgson said: 'This is great news for our members who can now get on with the rest of their lives. But Critchley, and those who seek to imitate them, must understand that our fire-power remains concentrated on this renegade relic of workhouse culture.'
