Old Castle

Three different bars, each with its own clientele and character. All worth trying!

Since the photos were taken there has been a change in management, due to Alf's (the old landlords) wife passing away. The castle was taken over by Dennis and was very nearly run into the ground, so as you can guess he didn't last very long. But after Dennis came probably the best two landlady's in Doncaster Jude & Kath. They have single handedly turned the castle around there are turns on 2-3 times a week and the bar is always packed out. Just like it was 10 years ago. They must have one of if not the best offers board in Doncaster for spirits etc. The staff have all changed apart from Ruth but the castle wouldn't be the castle without her behind the bar, and they are all old regulars who seem to remember the castle the way it used to be. It is a lovely little pub with the biggest personality in doncaster the staff are friendly and chatty and make anyone fell welcome. So if you want good service and a drink in a nice friendly pub give the castle ago you will not regret it.
