Now re-opened, re-furbished and much improved. Well worth a visit. Here's a description from Steve, the new proprietor.
After a period of unsettled management and
lengthy closure, I would like to assure all patrons past, present and future
that the premises has enjoyed a tasteful interior renovation that offers a
relaxing and congenial atmosphere that appeals to all ages, with the intention
of creating a proper traditional pub atmosphere.
This is achieved by the absence of
television, loud music, game machines and a restriction on the wearing of
sportswear.
Traditional pub grub shall shortly be
available in the form of wholesome sandwiches, ploughman's, light salads and
soups, with hot food to follow in due course.
A fine range of spirits, wines, and beers is
available, complemented by a very well cared for real ale which is presently
Timothy Taylor's Landlord (4.3%). This will hopefully be supported by future
guest ales.
It is now a genuine free house without any pubco or brewery associations. Here's an example of the food on offer.......
