the President's Men Background On a trip to Kazakhstan, Mark Yates was on active duty with his team of bodyguards, escorting Major Nicholai Shekel, a former member of the KGB and now a serving member with the Ukrainian state security. They visited the town of Alma Ata, one of the so-called 'secret cities' of the former Soviet Union. NGP Productions had access to film Yates and his team in action in a part of the world where close protection is absolutely essential. The risk of abduction or murder is very real. As a result the crew had to be assigned their own close protection unit during filming. This section of the film highlights the practical application of the techniques learnt in training during the earlier part of the project. Updated: January
