Victorian Oil Painting Picture Clock, A primative oil of a church in the English countryside with an actual working clock as the turret clock of the church. These were popular at the time but are now hard to find. This is one is a good size and is an earlier one - about 1880. The clock movement is a German 30hr balance escapement mounted in a frame behind the canvas. The movemet has been serviced and is fully working. The canvas has been re-lined and the frame re-gilded. The actual painting is primative and pleasing composition and is not signed. What a great novalty! Diamensions of the Frame - 35" x 27.5" |

English Mahogany Mantle Clock. The movement in this clock is very high quality and a true English movement rather then the usual German derived. A heavy brass bezel fitted with convex bevelled glass covers the high quality engraved brass dial. The case is mahogany veneer with inlay. I don't think the beading along the bottom of the case is original but it doesn't make any difference - this is a fine looking clock. Fully restored in our workshops and fully working. circa 1930. |
