BLUE TRANSFER PITCHER

A super mid blue pitcher, nice barrel shape,  with 'hunting dogs' on one side and a variation of 'Tea Party' on the other.  In this variant, they sit on rather nice Georgian chairs at a pedestal table, several clay pipes are on the table and they appear to be drinking wine and ale! Umm my kind of tea party.  Handle, rim and spout are lined in iron red.  

Condition is excellent, there is a professional repair to a chip on the spout, not our repair but nicely done.  No hairlines or cracks.  Nice pearl glaze.  I am not familiar with this pattern, but it is very attractive and a good addition to any collection.  Circa 1830 / 50.

DELIGHTFUL BLUE TRANSFER SAUCE BOAT

A very pretty little sauce boat in an all over briar rose pattern outlined in yellow, quite a dark blue, deeper than it appears in the picture.  Condition is excellent, no chips cracks or restoration, two rubs, see pictures, manufacturing firing crack to base does not go through.  No marks to base, Staffordshire circa 1840/50.  Length 5 inch max. x Height 2 3/4 inch.

EARLY CLEWS PLATE ~ DEATH of the BEAR

From the Indian Sporting Series, a great plate in excellent condition.  Nice mid to dark blue transfer and pearly glaze.
  No chips, no cracks, no hairlines, tiny amount of glaze rub to the edge.  Impressed mark to base circa1820.  Diameter 10 inch.

LOVING CUP ~ THE GREAT EXHIBITION 1851

A super mid blue transfer, twin handled loving cup for the Great Exhibition 1851.  Showing the Crystal Palace with figures enjoying the park, and emblems of Agriculture, Industry, Science and the Arts.  Condition is excellent, minor chipping to the base edge has been professionally restored, there are no cracks or hairlines.  Nice pearly glaze.  No manufacturers mark but certainly Staffordshire.  The impressive size and rare historic view make this a wonderful centerpiece to a blue transfer collection.  Height 4 3/4 inch x Diameter 5 1/4 inch.  Circa 1851.

DOULTON FLOW BLUE BOWL

Good size bowl in deep flow blue oriental 'willow' pattern.  Condition is excellent, an old chip to the rim has been beautifully professionally restored, some tiny chips and nibbles to the foot rim not visible from above.  Marked to base 'Doulton Burslem, England' and 'Willow' Circa 1891 - 1902.

Diameter 8 inch.  

VICTORIAN CHILD'S PLATE ~ CAMELS

A super octagonal version of this pattern, transfer printed in lilac and over painted in coloured enamels.  The press molded border is particularly delightful with classical 'Adam' swags and motif.  In excellent condition, no chips or cracks, a small firing fault to bottom edge, covered by the border paint.  6 3/4 inch.  Staffordshire Circa 1850.

Unusual pattern child's plate, transfer printed in black with blue, green and yellow hand painted details.  Press molded daisy border with rope edge and pink luster band.  In excellent condition, a very small chip to bottom underside rim and faint hairline underside at 10 o'clock, neither seen from above.  Usual crazing and a little age stain.  
Staffordshire circa 1850.  6 3/4 inch.

What a lovely and unusual pitcher, transfer printed black fruit and floral pattern on pink splash ground which is deeper than shows in the picture taken in bright sun! with pink luster band.  The lower body press molded in the form of a sea shell.  In excellent condition, no cracks or hairlines, an old repair to chip on the foot.  A super addition to any collection.  Height 5 1/2 inch max.  Staffordshire circa 1850.

It is a very long time since I have had such a pretty candle snuffer.  Hand painted sprigs of pink roses and gilt highlights.  In excellent condition, no chips, cracks, repairs.  A tiny tiny amount of paint loss and a little wear to the gilt.  Just waiting for your country cottage look.  Staffordshire circa 1850.   Height 3 inch.

LARGE STAFFORDSHIRE BOWL, DARK BLUE TRANSFER ~ SPANISH OPERA ~

A big, beautiful bowl with an unusual pattern but is a battered beauty.  A three inch crack down from the rim and a large star shape crack have both been professionally stabilized and though not invisible are difficult to see.  Still a stunning display piece.  Diameter 12 inch x Depth 2 1/2 inch.

Marked to base with name of pattern and makers mark 'B & D' I have not been able to identify maker.  Circa 1850.
