The Griffin at Pitsford Was formally owned and run By Stephen Whitsey who Married Martha Ekin 25th July 1757 at Pitsford After Stephen Died Martha then re-married to John Markie in 1780 who continued to run the Griffin. John then died in 1783. when Martha carried on untill her death and she passed it all on to her Nephew Stephen Bembridge.

The Bear was owned by my 4 X Gt Grandfather, Thomas Greenough who was born abt 1756 he died 22 Jan 1821 and left this pub and the Bakehouse next door (Now gone) to his wife and children when they came of age. Thomas Greenoughs wife Ann (Nee Wood) Re Married to William Linnell who had this public house from 1824 to 1830 when John Edens took over, who was also mentioned in the will of Thomas Greenough. Thomas Greenough is Buried in St Sepulchres Church, and his gravestone can still be seen today.

The Stags Head was run by Benjamin Chapman Gibson who was married on the 9th February 1864 in Bedford to Emma Louisa Gray. All the Gibson family were born here a total of 10 children. which includes my Gt Grandmother Emma Julia Gibson. Benjamin died 7th March 1906

Emily Ann Gibson Daughter of Andrew Gibson and Sister to Benjamin married Issac Billinghurst of Lewes, Sussex. They took over the Greyhound Inn, Haversham, Bucks, c1881

Benjamins Brother Charles Gibson was running another pub The Dukes Arms, Woodford and then the Greyhound Inn, Hanslope. Charles died in 1889 in Hanslope Bucks.

Eve Gibson Daughter of James Eli Gibson Married Henry Meadows and was at the Royal Oak Inn, Glapthorn, Northants c1878
James Markie b1790 Flore, Northants,Moved to 10, St Johns Terrace, Northampton. The Flowering Tankard.(1850 -1859)
Kate Davis Allen Married John Brown and in the 1901 Census they are at the Garibaldi Inn in Bailiff St, Northampton.
James Stubbs Owned the Admiral Lord Nelson at Braunston Locks, he died in 1828 and his wife Elizabeth carried on untill her death in 1844
In the 1851 Census Sarah Challoner Nee Meadows was Innkeeper at the Kings Head, Mayorhold, Northampton. Sarah is my 4X Gt Grandmother.
