GAY PETTS WOOD DOT COM

When I searched on Google for "gay petts wood" I was surprised to find that I came out top of the results list, further searching revealed nothing much about gay community living in Petts Wood.

Having spoken to a couple of mates about this inadequacy, we're now created this site for you as a gay guide to Petts Wood and its local services.

Star and Garter, High Street, Bromley

Second Tuesday of every month

6:30  - 8.00pm

Open to anyone who works, lives, socialises or learns in Bromley.

Bromley may be a vibrant London borough but a lack of local gay venues or LGBT service provision has meant that for far too long Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender people in Bromley have had to travel to have their voices heard.

The virtual LGBT black hole in Bromley will be put to an end in October with the launch of the Bromley Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) Community Forum.

“The LGBT Forum will be the largest group of its kind in the borough and will provide the first ever chance for LGBT people in the area to come together and talk publicly about issues that affect the community with local service providers.”

The launch of the Network has been organised by community members in partnership with the Safer Bromley Partnership, Bromley Borough Police, the Health Development department of Bromley PCT, the Metropolitan Police’s LGBT Advisory Group and Galop. Colin Newman, Head of Community Safety at the Safer Bromley Partnership said: “The safer Bromley partnership welcomes the establishment of an LGBT forum as an exciting opportunity to further develop our relationship with Bromley’s diverse communities”

Colin Newman will be speaking at the launch, along with representatives from the police, council and the LGBT Advisory group. The event will provide a rare opportunity for LGBT people within Bromley to question exactly how statutory agencies are catering to their local needs.

Several agencies from around London will be promoting their work at the event, eager to take advantage of this exciting opportunity to engage with the LGBT communities in Bromley.
