Following the closure of the "Crown and Anchor" as a gay venue, the gap in the market has now been filled by Bromley's newest gay pub the

"Star and Garter"

The pub is located at the top of Bromley High Street, opposite the Empire cinema (formally the Odeon) the Landlord say's "everyone is welcome".

Especially welcome are former customers of the "Crown and Anchor", who's conversion to a non-smoking family venue and the unwelcoming signs in the window (see news story) left the Bromley LGBT community with no venue within the borough.

It is hoped the new pub will provide LGBT services, like access to sexual health information, the local community police and the LGBT free newspapers i.e. pink paper

The pub was official opened on Saturday 9th December 2006 and is currently open for business
