Happy New Year to all our members.
Some carp to 20lb have been coming out over the Christmas break from Virginia, Willow and Coot Lakes. Also the pike anglers have been enjoying some good sport. Lewis Mulholland and Simon Brunsdon have both had twenties and John Waine and Shane Ankin have had several good sessions with numerous pike on the bank. We are optimistic that 2012 will be a good year for anglers on our site and we look forward to seeing you all down there.
LEADCORE IS NOT PERMITTED ON OUR LAKES BUT IT IS CLEAR THAT THIS RULE IS BEING BROKEN. RECENTLY A FISH OF 25LB WAS TETHERED FOR SOME TIME BY A LENGTH OF LEADCORE AND ONLY SURVIVED BECAUSE A MEMBER CLEARING SNAGS CAME TO THE FISH'S RESCUE. CLEARLY ALLOWING FISH TO BE SNAGGED LIKE THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. WE NOW HAVE A NEW BAILIFF, HOWARD BECKLEY,WHO IS IN THE PROCESS OF INTRODUCING HIMSELF TO MEMBERS. HOWARD AND IAN WILL NOW BE ASKING, ON AN AD HOC BASIS, FOR MEMBERS TO BRING IN THEIR RIGS FOR CHECKING. WHERE LEADCORE OR HELICOPTER RIGS ARE FOUND ALONG WITH OTHER ILLEGAL SET-UPS, THE OFFENDING ANGLER WILL BE GIVEN A WARNING. A CORNER OF HIS TICKET WILL BE REMOVED FOR EACH SEPARATE EXAMPLE OF RULE BREAKING. IF ALL FOUR CORNERS ARE LOST THEN THE RELEVANT ANGLER WILL BE BANNED PERMANENTLY FROM OUR SITE. Latest Catches: Up to and including Wednesday 16/02/2012
THE LAKES HAVE LARGELY THAWED OUT AND ARE FISHABLE IN MOST PLACES. THERE ARE JUST A FEW PARTS WHERE THE SUN HAS NOT GOT THROUGH TO REMOVE THE LAST REMNANTS OF THE ICE..
We have run our fiishery for 12 years now. After 2 years the first 30lb+ carp was caught and now after stocking some really stunning Simmons carp in 2000 and some brilliant Priory stockies in 2004, we can boast over 40 carp weighing over 30lb. As a result, the chances of banking a 30lb + carp are greatly improved..
We also stocked Wels catfish in 2001 and now have a good range of sizes from singles to mighty monsters.

************Important Notice************
It is clear that anglers piling in the bait are catching well at the moment. So the few anglers reluctant to bait up, who are'nt catching, may possibly see where they are presently going wrong. Heavy ground baiting does not have to cost a fortune. In addition, a good way of maximising your bait is to fire out only 4-5 boilies periodically. This will avoid your freebies fattening up the seagulls rather than drawing the fish into your swim and holding them there. We wish everyone tight lines.
As well as lots of much bigger fish there have been lots of attractive stockies coming out, which unfortunately seem to upset some anglers (even though they fight really well for their size) but remember a stockie of today is a potential 30 or 40 of the future!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!On the question of stockies, one or two are coming out already with mouth damage. Needless to say this concerns us as we have invested a great deal of time , money and effort into these beautiful little fish, for the long term benefit of the site and the members. They are very distinctive in one particular way, which makes it very easy for them to be identified. When playing these delicate little fish, or for that matter any fish, please exercise great care and make sure all captures are handled and returned carefully and quickly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you are planning a session on Virginia or on Willow don't forget to mix up at least a couple of buckets of ground bait, which needn't cost the earth if you use CSL type sheep pellets, hemp, bread flake, chopped worms, some maggots, a catering tin of sweetcorn as well as a kilo of fresh broken boilies and quantities of carp pellets. If you can scrounge some left over cakes/ bread from a friend who works in catering, or who supplies functions etc, it will all go into the groundbait mix to help you catch those bigger fish. Believe you me there are some superb 20s and 30s to be caught.
2009 Virginia best catches round-up:
April: Bernie Skeels had a 32lb 4oz mirror
May: Dan Miles had a 33lb mirror and Colin Wilde had commons of 30lb 2oz, 32lb and 31lb 13oz plus another 30lb+ fish during a brilliant 27 fish session. Bernie Skeels had a 33lb mirror and 'The Sheriff' was caught at 32lb 9oz.
June: Rob Golding had a half-linear two-tone of 32lb 6oz, Dan Miles had 'The Italian' at 30lb, whilst Colin Wilde had his fifth 30 of the year.
July: Bruce Spencer had a common of 30lb 4oz, a 31lb 8oz mirror and another common of 30lb 1oz. He also had 'The Sheriff' at 31lb 4oz and 'The Italian' at 32lb 3oz.
August: Derek Garland had a 30lb fish which ressembled 'The Italian' but turned out to be a different fish.
September: Bernie Skeels had a commons of 34lb 12oz and 30lb 7oz and Colin Wilde had a mirror of 35lb 6oz. Ian McTullock-Gair had a common of 31lb 2oz.
October: Colin Wilde again! with a 32lb 8oz common and another common of 30lb 6oz.
November: Colin Wilde had 'The Sheriff' at 35lb 4oz to bring his total of 30's for 2009 to nine.

Virginia 2010 best Catches Round Up
10/4/10 Rod Pattison has just moved across from Willow and had a great second session with three carp, a 31lb 10oz two-tone common, a 27lb 12oz mirror and a 11lb 4oz Simmo.
16/04/10 Lee Willis had a lovely 33lb 4oz mirror(gallery) within two hours of arrival and setting up.
17/04/10 Lee was back on the fish again with a common of 25lb 5oz and a 26lb mirror. Rod Pattison had a 28lb 6oz common and Bernie struck gold with 'The Sheriff' at 33lb 7oz(gallery)
26/04/10 Colin Wilde landed 'The Italian' at 28lb 4oz but had earlier got a much bigger common to the net before
8/05/10 Lee had a 26lb 5oz linear whilst Dan Northfield had a lovely common of 30lb 4oz(gallery
20/05/10 Bruce is back!!!! Like buses Bruce's first catches all came within 30 minutes of each other starting around 6a.m.. They were a 28lb 8oz mirror, a 26lb 8oz mirror and a 27lb 3oz common.
26/05/10 Bruce had two linears one of 26lb and the other 24lb but had a huge common to the net at 2am, which unfortunately rolled and got off at the last minute after an epic battle. Bruce was gutted but it substantiates the rumours of 40-45lb fish in Virginia
25/05/10 Lee Willis had a good overnight session with seven fish-commons of 15lb 12oz, 18lb 6oz, 22lb 9oz and 25lb 12oz and mirrors of 18lb 4oz, 20lb 9oz and a spawned out 'Allens' at 29lb 12oz. Bernie Skeels also had an Italian which might be The Italian at 27lb as well as a stunning stockie of 20lb 4oz and a 21lb 8oz common.
29/06/10 Stuart Payne from Wisbech had seven carp- commons of 21lb 8oz and 19lb, a linear of 18lb and mirrors of 10lb 8oz, 15lb. 22lb and 23lb
2/07/10 Lee Willis started a bumper session and had eleven fish- 22lb 02 mirror, 24lb 04 mirror, 18lb 4oz common, 18lb common,21lb 5oz common, 17lb 10oz linear, 29lb 11oz 'Woodcarving', 14lb 11oz common, 24lb 14oz common, 15lb 2oz common and a 17lb 6oz common. Meanwhile Glen was busy with a 19lb 5oz common, 18lb 6oz linear, 15lb 4oz common,8lb 10 oz stockie and a 24lb 4oz common. Bernie Skeels had a 23lb mirror, 20lb 1oz mirror, 24lb 2oz common, 11lb stockie, 18lb 4oz common, 19lb 10oz common, 24lb 8oz common and a 15lb common.
24/07/10 Stuart Osgathorpe had 'The Italian' at 26lb 8oz and a 24lb 12oz common.
6/8/10 Lee Willis had commons of 20lb 5oz, 17lb 5oz and 16lb 3oz and the 'Little Italian' at 25lb 8oz. Then as he was landing a 20lb 5oz common another rod went off. This was also a common of around 16lb but sadly it got off. Lee had also lost another four and it was only lunchtime! Later on Lee had 'The Woodcarving' at 30lb 10oz, a common of 17lb 3oz. and a 21lb 13oz common.

10/08/10 John Chapman, fishing only his third day session had a lovely mirror of 30lb 2oz. Needless to say he was delighted with this, only his second English thirty

16/08/10 No longer 'no carp corner' ! After Johns thirty pounder on Tuesday, Stu Taylor had a pristine mirror of 27lb 8oz.

21/09/10 Darren Marchant,down for three nights, had nothing the first day but then really hit the jackpot. Darren started with a 27lb 4oz common, followed by a 28lb 3oz common and a 19lb 2oz common- THEN-
22/09/10 As dawn was breaking Darren landed a lovely 28lb 2oz zip linear. As he was weighing this his buzzer went off again and this time a beautiful near leather of 28lb came to the net.

5/02/11 Lewis Mulholland had an 18lb 2oz pike.
07/02/11 Rob Lilley and guest had three specimen PIKE of 20lb 10oz, 21lb and 22lb between them. There are some cracking pike to be had this time of year in all of the lakes but Virginia in particular offfers some great sport.
12/02/11 Rod Pattison had two commons of 19lb 8oz and 13lb 8oz.
16/02/11 Rob Lilley had the most stunning 23lb pike(Gallery)
19/02/11 Alan Friend had two linear mirrors of 28lb 2oz and 26lb both caught on Innovative Baits Kream Krunch boilies.
23/02/11 Alf Engers had a 20lb common.
07/03/11 Stuart Payne(Wisbech) had a 22lb 2oz common.
11/03/11 Darren Marchant had a common of 24lb 8oz.
12/03/11 Richard Connelly had a 14lb common and Darren was into the fish again with an 18lb 2oz mirror stockie, a weight which is very encouraging and a parrot mirror of 20lb 2oz.
14/03/11 We already know that Virginia switches on a little later than the other lakes but this week has seen some great fish come out. Lewis Mulholland had a 22lb 2oz common and Lee Willis had 'The Woodcarving' at 34lb 4oz. - a superb early-season weight.(gallery)

28/04/11 John had four more carp - another 19lb 4oz linear, an 11lb 8oz common and a mirror of 23lb 8oz. Steve Gleeson had a 29lb 12oz common and a 30lb 10oz common as well as four more- mirrors of 15lb and 19lb and commons of 7lb and 16lb 4oz. . Considering that this was John and Steve's first session on Virginia after moving over from Willow, it was a tremendous start.

27/07/11 Alex had a 20lb 2oz mirror.
31/07/11 Steve Butt had four carp- commons of 16lb 2oz, 17lb 2oz and 19lb 2oz and saving the best till last, just before going home,a 30lb 8oz mirror.
Martin Churchyard also had four mirrors over the weekend- 15lb, 18lb, 13lb 2oz and 14lb 12oz. Colin Killner had two mirrors of 10lb 3oz and 11lb 7oz.
02/08/11 John Phelps had a 19lb 8oz mirror, which he described as 'not pretty' in fact it looked apparently as though it had been Vitaly Klitschko's sparring partner, according to John. That is my best attempt at spelling the boxer's name until I google it! John then had a much better looking fish in the shape of a 28lb 6oz mirror. Steve Gleeson had a 19lb 12oz common.

05/08/11 Steve Gleeson, fishing the main part of the lake which seems to be where the action is at the moment, had an immaculate 31lb 4oz leather

2009 Pingree's Pool catches:
21/03/09, Stephen Dear has caught the first carp from this lake in 2009 in the the form of a common of 19lb 12oz.
16/05/09, Adam Tideswell was tempted by the solitude and peace and quiet of Pingrees Pool and was pleased to bank an attractive looking 21lb 05oz common.
13/06/09, Richard Robinson banked a very attractive 23lb 04oz common.
12/07/09, Richard R. beat his last 'Pingrees' common with a very dark fish of 23lb 10oz.
2010 Pingree's Pool Catches:
2/06/10 So far this year hardly anyone has fished Pingrees. Yet there are some lovely fish to be had. Martin Croxon had a day on there and caught a stunning common of 23lb 3oz(see gallery-'Other Lakes').
19/06/10 Gary Morton tried his luck on Pingree's and was rewarded with two commons of 12lb 6oz and 17lb.
2/8/10 Howard Beckley had a 13lb fully-scaled from this little fished water.
4/8/10 John Wells had seven attractive looking stockies - all singles. These fish, although smallish, were stunning and fought really well on light gear.
2011 Pingree's Pool Catches:
17/03/11 Steve Calder is the first person to venture onto Pingree's this year and in an overnighter he was rewarded with a lovely 12lb zip linear stockie. These stock fish were put into Pingree's early last summer at weights of 3-4lb so it appears they are doing really well in there.
10/04/11 Steve Dear had a 21lb 4oz mirror as well as stockies of 12lb and two of 8lb.
12/04/11 Howard Beckley had a beautiful, dark 27lb 3oz common(Gallery)
24/04/11 Howard had stockies of 5lb,10lb and 15lb and Steve Dear had a stockie of 12lb.
29/04/11 Steve Dear had mirrors of 14lb and 10lb as well as a leather of 16lb 1oz and a 4lb Crucian(British record is 4lb 9oz I believe)
04/05/11 Steve had a dark common of 22lb.

2009 WillowWalk Best Catches Round-up:
April: Willow fished really well early season. Roly Marsh had the first 30 of the year with a 32lb common, followed by Rod Pattison who caught 'Shubunkin' at 31lb 10oz. Phil Hill had a catfish of 30lb 12oz, Darren Francis had the 'Big Mirror ' at 34lb 2oz as well as a 31lb catfish and Adam Fletcher had 'Scar' at 32lb.
May: Phil Lee had 'Blindeye' at 30lb 1oz. Darren Francis had' Turnscale' at 31lb 8oz and Marcus Wetzl had a 34lb 8oz mirror. Andy Amory had 'Scar' at 34lb 5oz and Rod Pattison had 'Shubunkin' again at 30lb 8oz. Ian Bellows had a 32lb 8oz common.
June: Rod Pattison had the Two-tone Common' at 26lb 2oz and although no 30s appeared there were many high twenties on the bank.
July: Again no 30s but lots of high twenties and some very productive sessions. Rod Pattison had eleven fish in a three day session.
August: Several high twenties.
September: Darren Bray had the heaviest fish at 29lb 4oz.
October: Pat Cronin had a 31lb 14oz catfish and 'Blindeye' at 31lb 2oz.
November/December: Willow was still fishing well and Roly Marsh finished the year with a new 31lb common.

19/03/10 'The Captain' came out at a brilliant early-season weight of 28lb 8oz. and Michael Brown Jnr. had a common of 24lb.
21/03/10 Jon Button had four fish: 'Boney M' at 23lb 6oz, a leather of 19lb 1oz and two commons of 20lb 6oz and 15lb.
25/03/10 Brian Tingey had 'Two-tone Common' at 26lb 8oz, Howard Beckley had a 29lb 12oz mirror.
28/03/10 Pat Cronin had a bumper session of five fish. His catch included a 21lb linear, a 17lb common, 26lb 8oz linear, a 23lb leather and finally a 30lb 4oz common-the first thirty of the year. Adam Seale had a 28lb common .

28/05/10 Brett Bevan and Ian Billows finished a four day stint with an impressive total of fish. Ian had 9 carp - 8 over 20lb and the two-tone common at 26lb 2oz. Brett had 8 carp, the biggest of which were a nice 25lb 8oz common(gallery) and the big mirror at 29lb.

No-one seems to be reporting catches from Willow so it was lovely to see Brian Tingey down on 3/8/10 and having three carp-20lb 11oz linear, 19lb 10oz and an old friend, a fully-scaled of 23lb 10oz.
4/08/10 Before he went home Brian had two more fish - 23lb 12lb common and a 15lb 2oz stockie mirror. Stuart Payne had a 14lb stockie and a 20lb Simmo, a 21lb mirror and an 18lb common.

12/04/11 Brendan Sutterby saw some real action in his first 30 hours. First he had 20lb 2oz common. Then he had the head and whiskers of an enormous cat into his net. Brendan has caught 30 pounders and reckons this one was at least twice that size, with a mouth of about 16" across and he also saw the tail, which was around six feet away. This is the closest anyone has been to landing one of these large catfish. Brendan was disappointed but was soon compensated by a P.B. mirror of 30lb 11oz(picture to follow) Brendan also had three carp out of Coot Lake

We know the weed in Willow is bad this year, mainly due to the E.U. who in its wisdom has removed our usual herbicde from the shelves. Willow is fishing very well at the moment despite the weed situation which is slowly improving.

01/08/11 I will give a round up of Andy's super session. He had 26 carp from Tuesday 26th July through to Sunday 31st July as well as 2 cats. His 13 commons comprised 10 twenties and one thirty and his 13 mirrors comprised of 11 twenties with the biggest being 28lb 4oz. The two cats weighed in at 29lb 8oz and 30lb. WOW!

Coot Lake:
This lake has fished well during the beginning of 2009 and many multiple catches, including high doubles and low twenties have been banked. It is nice to have a site which contains so many good lakes like Coot Lake and so much potential.
2009 Coot Lake Best Catches Round Up:
April : There were some impressive catches to start the season. Stuart Osgathorpe had ten fish in a two day session to 19lb 8oz and that was without fishing the night.
James Edwards, aged 13yrs and Gordon Skillen had a dozen doubles topped by a 'Simmo' two-tone mirror of 20lb 3oz.
Alan Thinneston had ten carp in one day.
May: Alan T again had a good day session of seven doubles up to 19lb 7oz and Shane Briggs had six carp the same day.
James Edwards had eight doubles in one day and also Peter Ankin had four commons to 18lb 8oz. whilst Darren Francis had eight doubles in a one day session.
June: Paul Chubbock had six carp in a day to 15lb and Adrian Leggett six carp too to 14lb.
July: Loz Everett had some excellent day sessions with up to eleven fish to 18lb 12oz.
August: Kevin Morris had two bigger commons for this lake. These were 20lb 3oz and 22lb 2oz. Loz again had some bumper days. The best being a seventeen fish bonanza of carp up to 19lb 3oz.
Kevin had a seven fish session topped by commons of 21lb 2oz, 22lb 8oz and 23lb 1oz.
September: There were lots of good catches from members doing day sessions but the biggest fish from Coot Lake for a long time came out to Jason Hayden at 25lb 6oz.
October/November: The lake was still fishing well with some productive sessions. Steve Hicks had some nice fish to 16lb 12oz.

2010 Coot Lake Best Catches Round up
27/03/10-28/03/10 Stuart Payne and Graham West fished an overnighter and had twenty-one fish but also lost quite a few. The biggest were an 18lb 12oz mirror, a 17lb common and two 15lb commons, the others being between 10-14lb and mainly commons.
12/04/10 Mick Swann had 5 carp - 4 doubles and a 20lb 8oz mirror whilst in the next swim Kevin Morris had a bumper bag of 7 bream of 7lb-8lb. All this in a day's angling.
15/04/10 Mick Swann packed up after a bumper session of 44 fish in his three days-13 bream of 7-9lb, 23 tench to 5lb and 8 carp to 20lb 8oz. Kevin, coarse fishing, also had a great three days with 37 fish - 29 bream of 7-9lb, one superb specimen of 10lb 8oz and 7 tench between 3 and 4lb 8oz.
27/04/10 John Holmes finished his couple of days with 17 fish, the largest of which topped 24lb.
20/05/10 Steve ended his session having caught 19 carp altogether- the biggest being 18lb 12oz. Meanwhile Mick Swann had three twenties from this ever-developing lake.
22/05/10 Kevin Morris had a 21lb common and 4 doubles.
27/05/10 Mick Swann had an almost perfectly round mirror of 21lb as well as another 20lb + carp.
29/05/10 Kevin Morris finished a five day session, fishing only days (Kev needs his beauty sleep!) having had 18 carp- ten commons to 21lb and eight mirrors to 19.5lb Mick Swann also finished today, fishing again only days(same reason) Mick had 78 carp, three of which were over 20lb, with the biggest weighing in at 22lb. Mick also had 21 tench and 23 bream to 9.5lb.
05/06/10 Chris Morton fished a morning for seven doubles and a 20lb linear.
06/06/10 Steve Ankin had a short session before the monsoon rains came and had four carp to 18lb 9o
6/8/10 Richard Robinson started what turned out to be a prolific two-nighter. He started catching almost immediately and stopped on Sunday when he ran out of bait. Richard's eventual tally was 30 carp with a good number in the upper-double bracket, the best being a mirror of 19lb 01oz.
11/08/10 Mick Swan arrived for another session and soon had some carp on the bank. By Friday 13/08/10 Mick had had ten carp to 17lb and several big tench and bream. Roger Dix had three carp to 15lb.
15/08/10 Mick Swan had commons of 20lb and 18lb and Kevin Morris had a 16lb common. David Melvill had a 13lb common
18/08/10 Mick Swan had three carp to 16lb. He is very concerned about newspaper reports that some Eastern Europeans are catching and eating swans!
20/08/10 Mick had a 23lb common, Mark Jenkins had eight carp to 13lb.
21/08/10 Mark had his best fish of the session with a 21lb 1oz common.
22/08/10 Kevin Morris had two big commons of 20lb 2oz and 23lb.
30/08/10 Chris Morton had an 18lb mirror and guest Richard a 15lb common.
18/09/10 Andy Lucas had commons of 10lb, 11lb 5oz and a mirror of 15lb. Chris Morton had commons of 14lb, 16lb and 18lb.
19/09/10 Andy really got the fish feeding and had nine carp-commons of 10lb 14oz, 14lb 6oz, 14lb 11oz,15lb and 15lb 2oz, mirrors of 12lb 14oz and 15lb 14oz and a linear of 18lb 4oz. Andy also had a 12lb pike.
26/09/10 Teresa Lucas had four mirrors between 8 and 13lb and four commons from 12lb 11oz to 15lb 15oz, whilst husband Andy had seven mirrors from 12lb 13oz to 16lb and nine commons from 9lb 11oz to 17lb 8oz. (see Gallery 'Other Lakes')
16/10/10 Steve Banham had four carp to 11lb 14oz, whilst friend, Matt, had a 19lb common, 'Yorkie' had carp of 12lb and 11lb and Terry had four carp to 11lb 14oz.

12/01/11 John Phelps did a 24 hour session and was pleased to have ten fish, 5 commons and 5 mirrors to 14lb.
15/01/11 John Chapman had an 18lb 4oz carp

26/01/11 John Phelps had four carp to 18lb 4oz in a 24hour session

06/02/11 Andy Lucas had a good weekend with five carp-20lb common, 20lb 2oz common, 21lb 2oz linear, 15lb 4oz mirror and a mirror of 15lb 7oz.
12/02/11 Andy and Teresa came for a 32 hour session. Andy had ten carp between 8lb and 18lb 4oz.
19/02/11 John Chapman had five carp, the biggest of which was a 20lb 04oz common.
26/02/11 John Chapman had three carp to 15lb 8oz.
03/03/11 Brendan Sutterby had a 14lb common.
11/03/11 John Chapman had an 11lb mirror.
13/03/11 Jason Rose was still fishing a great three day session in which he had already had commons of 16lb, 18lb, 21lb 12oz,17lb 15oz,16lb ,16lb08oz and another 16lb common and mirrors of 14lb, 15lb 2oz, 16lb, 16lb 11oz and 16lb. Mark Jenkins, there for the same length of time had commons of 15lb, 13lb, 16lb, 14lb and 18lb, an 18lb ghostie and an 18lb mirror and a 13lb mirror. There may be even more as they were not quite ready for home at the time of reporting.
Colin Wilde,meanwhile, was also catching with four commons of 21lb 4oz, 18lb and two at 19lb as well as a mirror of 20lb exactly.
30/04/11 Brendan Sutterby had an Italian type carp-two-tone on one side at 20lb 4oz. Stu Osgathorpe did a night with a guest. They had twenty carp between them to 20lb and a good night's sleep as they pulled their rods in for a rest.
14/05/11 Paul Sellens had two mirrors of 11lb 2oz and 15lb 8oz, whilst guest, Chris, had a 10lb mirror.
21/05/11 Young Ben Mansfield was delighted with a 20lb common(Gallery). Chris Moreton, fished for the morning and had three big doubles.
11/06/11 Teresa Lucas had a 16lb mirror as well as 4 tench and several bream on a float rod.
17/06/11 Jim Brown started his weekend with a 19lb 8oz mirror and a 14lb 6oz common.
26/06/11 Mike Brenchley had 8 carp between 10 and 15 lb.
12/07/11 Roger Dix, fishing an afternoon, had an 18lb 10oz linear and a 14lb 12oz common.
14/07/11 Roger was back again and this time had a 14lb common, a 13lb 3oz mirror and a 12lb 3oz mirror.
09/08/11 Roger had two 'old stagers' at around 14lb each
13/08/11 Stu Osgathorpe was hauling carp in- he was up to a dozen fish between 12 and 15lb and was still catching. Mick Bartlett Snr had a short session and had a ten pounder.
14/08/11 Stu finished his session, which did not include nights incidentally, with 23 carp to 18lb 8oz and 7 bream to 9lb. Coot Lake is hardly fished at the moment but offers really good sport.
15/08/11 Reece Brenchley was delighted to have a 16lb common.
20/08/11 Richard Boothroyd had already had five carp by lunchtime in a day session and was still fishing. Rob Lemmon had a 16lb common. a 16lb 6oz common and a 12lb common.
27/08/11 Young angler,Reece Brenchley, had a mirror of 13lb 8oz and a P.B. mirror of 20lb 2oz. Rob Lemmon had a 16lb common and mirrors of 10lb, 14lb, 16lb and 18lb. Rob's mate Jonathan Chambers had commons of 14lb and 20lb. This was their first session and got them off to a good start.
31/08/11 Bruce Spencer -back from up north for another session- had a 23lb mirror and a 21lb common.
01/09/11 Bruce had a 22lb common, a 19lb common and a 12lb mirror.
02/09/11 Bruce had a 21lb 3oz linear, a 19lb common and a 12lb mirror again.
03/09/11 Teresa Lucas had two commons of 13lb and 10lb 8oz.
05/09/11 Bruce, only fishing days had a 12lb common and a 14lb 4oz mirror.
06/09/11 Bruce had Coot Lake's first thirty - a fish neither of us has seen before and which certainly looked as though it might not have been caught before- in the form of a 30lb 4oz chunky leather(picture to follow)

08/01/12 Brendan Sutterby had a common of 14lb 4oz.
21/01/12 Brendan had a common of 16lb 12oz.
22/01/12 Harry Green had an 18lb common as well as an 8lb bream and Paul Robinson had a 16lb common. Brendan had 3 carp but I don't know the weights
Coot Lake is great for a day session if you want some action and are able to find the right swims, introduce sufficient bait and fish it appropriately. Try big method feeders.
Earith Carp Lakes is just north of the village of Earith in Cambridgeshire (near to the A1123) and fishery prices for our annual tickets, which give you a full 12 months, are on our web site (www.earith- carp-lakes.co.uk)Other than annual tickets,there are no day tickets, just a few guest tickets but you have to be booked in beforehand as a fishing guest, by a current member phoning me. A member doing this can only book a guest in on the understanding they will be there fishing with their guest.

N.B.
The Willow Walk fibreglass boats, which members use for unsnagging fish are being taken for use and are not being returned to the disabled swim. I caugh four children in 2008 (non- members) launching the brown boat into the back channel. They were sent off by me, with a flea in their ear but after I'd gone they were back to play in this boat once again. Members who are not returning boats to the 'disabled swim' are IRRESPONSIBLE in my opinion, as it won't be long before a youngster is drowned! Can members also please turn the boat upside -down to avoid them filling with rainwater.
Also:- Please wash your nets, weigh slings, reel spools and unhooking mats and dry them thoroughly before coming to fish at our site or any site for that matter. Furthermore, it is everyone's responsibility to pick up every piece of litter and rubbish they come across on the site, including tea bags and cigarette butts. Any litter you find should be taken home and disposed of. Obviously if no one leaves litter this will help to keep the environment of our site clean and tidy and everyone will benefit.
