2012 Rules
The first priority is the care of the fish. Please make sure your equipment contains Klinic antiseptic or similar to treat any fish that are damaged.
4 rods maximum Virginia
3 rods maximum Willow
CARP
- 15lb minimum mainline.
- No braid mainline is permitted
- Micro-barb/barbless hooks only-no bent hooks
- No leadcore or leaders are to be used.
- Chod/helicopter rigs are acceptable but must run on a) mainline or b) tubing and must release safely.
- No nuts are to be used. Use only carp or coarse pellets as feed and not trout or halibut pellets. Hemp, stewed wheat/groats, soaked and boiled maize, broken boilies, maggots and chopped worms can be used. If unsure about using anything else ask Ian or Howard.
- When using a bait boat in the vicinity of snags, always make ‘a dummy drop’ with un-baited rig to ensure fish safety.
- Rods are not to be left unattended. 10 metres is permissible if fishing in open water (if you want to be sociable meet halfway).
- Fish are not to be sacked. Whilst getting a camera etc ready, leave the fish in a landing net to regain strength and return the fish as soon as possible.
PIKE
- Pike fishing will be allowed between October 1st and March 14th
- Semi barbless trebles and soft wire traces only.
- No live baiting only frozen sea fish baits
CATFISH
- 15lb minimum mainline.
- No braid mainline and ensure specialist catfish hooks are used.
- 42” long landing net is the minimum size permissible.
- Live baiting is allowed but live baits must be from our site.
- Suitable hook links such as Catfish Pro, Korda ArmaKord, Ton-up, Quicksilver, etc should be used. (you do not want to lose a cat if you hook one!)
GENERAL
- No boat is to be used at night or without a life jacket. The boat on Willow must be returned to The Disabled Swim.
- All fishing gear must be washed and thoroughly dried at home and the KHV dips must be used before and after fishing.
- All litter must be removed from swims before leaving. If you bring your dog, it must be under control. You must clear any mess it makes and take it away with you.
- All arrivals and departures must be in the hours of daylight. If you have a problem you need to contact Ian or Pat.
- Any guest ticket must be booked in advance by phone and approved. We must be notified by phone of cancellations the day before, otherwise the charge will apply.
- Members and guests come onto the fishery at their own risk. Common sense must apply and members should not fish under trees in high winds.
- Fish must not be moved from the lake where they were caught.
- The stock ponds are out of bounds unless otherwise agreed.
- Trees must not be cut down or materials moved around the site without permission.
- Only use large well-padded unhooking mats.
- All members must carry their membership card when at the lakes.
- BAIT BOATS ARE NO LONGER ALLOWED ON COOT LAKE AND TO AVOID FURTHER MOUTH DAMAGE BAITING DISTANCES MUST NOT EXCEED 50 METRES.
- Only wives and girlfriends are allowed as guests.
Infringement of any of these rules will result in a corner being removed from an angler’s membership card. If all four corners are removed then the angler concerned will be banned permanently and no refund will be given.
I have read the rules and I agree to abide by them:

If you have any questions or queries, do not hesitate to contact me. If you think you have caught a record fish from any of our lakes please
telephone me so I can witness the weighing of the fish. The first 40lb+ catfish each year,
caught from Virginia, Pingrees Pool or Willow Walk wins £100 provided Ian
witnesses the weighing and photographing. In theory someone with a whole site
ticket can reduce the price of their ticket by £300 if they are the lucky angler
to catch all three of these 40lb+ catfish.
