Fishery Rules:
2009 ( Keep checking them as there may be changes throughout the year.)
The new year letter will not be sent out this year.
The first priority for all members is the care of the fish and the
fishery, which also includes thinking of your fellow anglers, in terms of their
safety, where they are fishing and where they are baiting up. We must always
keep the care of the fish uppermost in our mind, so as part of your essential equipment, you
must have some 'Klinic', or Nash Iodine or Bonjela antiseptic, with which to treat any fish
that might be damaged.
- Only barbless and whisker barb hooks are allowed. Bent shanked hooks are NOT allowed.
- Helicopter rigs, shock leaders and lead core, as well as fixed leads are NOT
allowed. Braid can be used but 30 inches of sink tube should be fed onto the
reel line behind the hook length swivel, to protect the fish.
When carp fishing use coarse ground bait, bread, bread crumb, carp pellet, hemp, cooked wheat, boilies, maggots, casters,
sweetcorn and groats as
additional feed but definitely no other particles.
WHEN FISHING CLOSE TO SNAGS EXERCISE GREAT CARE. If a fish is snagged put your rod down to
allow it to swim out. If it does not come out use a life jacket in the boat
and release the fish without
damaging it but only whenyou have an observer on the bank. Boats must always be returned to the 'Disabled Swim'!!!!!!!! FOR SAFETY REASONS NO BOAT IS TO BE USED AT NIGHT or
without a life jacket. Maximum line strengths on all lakes is 20lb and leads must not be more than 3oz.
All litter must be removed from swims. This includes cigarette ends and tea bags. Please do not bring glass bottles onto the fishery.
To avoid the spread of disease all fishing gear must be washed and
thoroughly dried at home before use. This includes your unhooking mat, weigh
sling, landing net and reel spools. Landing nets must be a minimum of 42 inches. A large well-padded unhooking mat is required and this should be wet when in use. After photographing, fish must be returned to the water quickly and
carefully in a wet weigh-sling or landing net. Sacking is NOT allowed, even at night. On no account are Wels catfish to be kept in a net, tube or sack as they will
suffocate!!!!!!!!! Four rods on Virginia and three on Willow and Coot Lakes are allowed( this could be 1 into Willow and 2 into Coot or vice versa),
although it may sometimes be necessary to reduce down to a total of only two rods if there is
particular pressure on any part of the site. When fishing, anglers must not be further than 10 metres away from their rods. If stalking or spinning, all other rods must be reeled in.
All arrivals and departures to and from the fishery must be in the
hours of daylight. Anyone having difficulty with this must speak to me
beforehand.
All fishing guests must be booked in at least a day before fishing begins.
Any bookings cancelled must be phone through to me at least the day before the session is set to
begin, otherwise the member will be charged for the session. The costs are:
Day tickets (Mon - Thurs) £15
Day tickets (Fri - Sun) £20 (Bank Hols. Inc.)
24 hours (Mon a.m. - Fri
a.m.) £25
24 hours (Frip.m. - Sun) £30 (Bank Holidays are in this category)
If bookings are not made an extra charge of £5 will be levied but doing this could result in a guest being asked to leave if the lake the guest wishes to fish is full.
Members and guests come onto the fishery at their own risk re.personal injury. Neither can we take responsibility for either damage to equipment or vehicles on the site. Part of the contract with this fishery is that members and their guests
take out their own insurance cover against personal injury, damage to equipment or theft. This has been a safe site in the past and we will do everything to ensure this continues.
-
When fishing for catfish only hook lengths made from quicksilver or Kryston
Ton up are to be used. When fishing for pike in the autumn, winter or spring, only the new supple pike traces are
permitted. The old fashioned stiff steel wire pike traces are definitely
not permitted and only use sea fish dead baits.FISH MUST NOT BE MOVED FROM
THE LAKE WHERE THEY ARE CAUGHT.
When the lakes freeze over, the fishery will be closed until the subsequent thaw. In high winds do not fish near to or under dangerous trees.
-
Members will need to bring their own toilet paper.
-
Our stock ponds are strictly out of bounds.
-
Do not move bricks, timber or any other material around the fishery and do
not cut down trees without permission. If a dog fouls on the fishery the member
responsible must clear up after it, otherwise the dog
will be banned in future. All that we are asking is for members to clean up after their
dogs and be considerate to other members!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A REFUND WILL NOT BE GIVEN IF A MEMBER IS BANNED OR DECIDES TO TERMINATE THEIR MEMBERSHIP.
If you have any questions or queries, do not hesitate to contact me. If you think you have caught a record fish from any of our lakes please
telephone me so I can witness the weighing of the fish. The first 40lb+ catfish each year,
caught from Virginia, Pingrees Pool or Willow Walk wins £100 provided Ian
witnesses the weighing and photographing. In theory someone with a whole site
ticket can reduce the price of their ticket by £300 if they are the lucky angler
to catch all three of these 40lb+ catfish.
Fishery Pricing
2009 : No closed season and full 12 months fishing from when you join. Plus no work
parties (unless members feel they are needed). There is a price increase in 2009 but prices have only been increased in line with requests from members to reduce syndicate numbers. In actual fact, by syndicates being reduced by as many as 10 members each, the fishery will take less money than it did in 2008. My only concern, re. reducing the membership, is ensuring sufficient bait goes in to keep fish feeding and to help to put weight on them; so I'm looking for a membership that will pile the bait in.
