Unfortunately we didn’t hear about George’s death and subsequent funeral until after the event. George was a long serving member and will be missed by us all.

Arthur Bailey

Vice-Chairman

Arthur Bailey passed on at 01.00 on Saturday 4th October 2003. He had been one of our longest serving members, and was a friend to many, known to many members for his work with the Scouts as well as the Legion, Arthur never really got over the loss of his wife Jean, hopefully to whom his is reunited.

Antony (Tony) Cunningham

Vice-Chairman and RNA Member

Tony was a very active member of the Branch, in a quiet way, when he wanted something doing he would carry on until it was complete. He stepped in as Vice-Chairman when Arthur was to ill to continue to ensure the Branch would continue to run smoothly. Very much his style.

Tommy Martin

Actually the second, his father of the same name was membership secretary for may years, till the job was taken over by Ken Brightman. His son, was the stalwart backbone of the branch in as much as he was treasurer from the immediate post war period up till his illness. Causing him to give up after a period of over 30 years. He helped organize the finances for the post war Legion rallies that obtained the Legion Ambulance, and his last legacy was to organize the purchase of our branches 500 shares, which have proved a great investment.
