Furniture from the Edward Barnsley Workshop

A wide range of furniture has been produced by the workshop. Over 7000 pieces of furniture have been made since Edward Barnsley started in 1923. The Archives, in the workshop cottage contain a vast array of designs, some 4,000 of them. This archive is unique holding Edward Barnsley's designs, working drawings, photographs and correspondence. It is open for use and so please contact the Trust to discuss arrangements if you wish to see more.

The Workshop can produce almost any piece of furniture but is not run as a factory. Pieces are individually designed and tailored for the client (see commissioning).

A selection of furniture is shown below. In addition to these pieces which are typical, more specialist pieces, made for specific purposes or spaces can be produced.
