Events Information

 
There are a number of groups and organisations within the parish that organise social events that are mostly centred on the village hall. The groups are listed below with a short description of their activities.

Hall Committee
As well as the day to day administration of the village hall, they organise dances, whist drives, the hogmanay party and a Burns supper. The hall can also be hired for private functions etc. You can contact Joyce Hornby on 01506-853194 for more details.

ET Scottish Country Dance Group
This group meet in the village hall on a Monday evening from 7:30 - 9:30pm between September-December and January-April. They are mostly experienced dancers, but basic steps and new dances are taught (usually at the start of each term, especially if there are new members). The classes are for age 16+ and new members are always welcome.
Part of the group also go out to residential homes in the area from time to time, to entertain the residents. Further details about the ET Scottish Country Dance Group can be obtained from Agnes McMichael on 01506-500457.

Ecclesmachan and Threemiletown Mother and Toddlers Group
The mother and toddlers group meet in the village hall on a Wednesday morning from 10 - 11:15am. Mums (dads, nannies etc. are welcome too!), babies and toddlers are all welcome to join this small friendly group. S.W.R.I. - Ecclesmachan Institute.
Meet on the first Thursday of each month from September until June (no meeting in January) in the Ecclesmachan Village Hall at 7:15pm. Visitors and new members are given a very warm welcome. For further information contact Jan Cameron on 01506-852679.

Gala Committee
The Gala Committee organises two important events, the Ecclesmachan and Threemiletown Gala Day, and the annual children's Christmas party (in the village hall). The Gala Day is held in the middle of June each year and the Christmas party in the middle of December. Firm dates will be posted here when they are available.

The Gala Day for 2009 will be held on the 13th June, meet at the Ecclesmachan Village Hall at 1:45pm for a 2pm start.
Come along and have some fun. Races for children (and adults too!)
A bite to eat, a cup of tea and... ice-cream.

Leisure Group (Over 60's)
This group meets in the village hall every Wednesday 2-4pm, dominoes, snooker and cards are on the table. There are also occasional events held throughout the year, a Christmas party, a 'day out' in June and another in August. The dates for future events will be posted here when available.
