We'll
take the bus into the centre of Palma and head towards the main Tourist
Information Office just off the Passeig d'es Born near the old town.
This will give everyone the chance to get their bearings in Palma. We'll
walk along the Avgda Gabriel Roca towards the Parc de la Mar for views
of the Cathedral, known as La Seu, and then make our way up
through the old town stopping for some lunch along the way.
Our
visit will then take us towards the Plaza Mayor and towards the shopping
area in c/Sant Miquel. We'll go as far as the Plaça d'Espanya
where we'll check out the train station for Sóller and then head
back towards the Plaza Mayor. We'll finally head back along the Avinguda
Jaume III, past the Corte Inglés department store and down towards
the Avinguda Garbiel Roca (commonly known as the Paseo Marítimo,
or in Catalan the Passeig Marítim) and back towards the Porto
Pi shopping centre, close to the hotel.
We'll
have dinner in the hotel and then maybe return into town for some Saturday
night juerga.
A
word of warning: we'll be doing a lot of walking on Saturday, so come
prepared!
