VOLUME CONTROL DAMPERS
(VCD'S)

Photograph shows a gear driven PVCu Multi Aerofoil Bladed VCD with GRP reinforcement of the body.  This is just one of the many designs that we manufacture for use in acid extract systems.  The blades are operated with one rotating handle that controls a series of gears that are connected to the shafts of the blades.  All materials are plastic with no metal parts that can corrode through use and are manufactured to tight tolerances.  These units are for Volume Control only, and we do not guarantee 100% shut off.

We also manufacture Blast Gate Dampers which offer up to 100% shut off of extract.  These dampers can be manufactured from a choice of plastic materials such as PVCu, Polypropylene and Polyethylene.  Both of the mentioned styles of dampers can be either manual or automated and can be fitted in-line in a vertical or horizontal position.

Also supplied are Back Draft Dampers which are again manufactured in the above mentioned materials.  These dampers are manufactured to our own designs and come supplied with indicators that show the position of the blade when in-line.  We can also fit viewing ports that allow inspection of the dampers.

Our dampers are designed and manufactured in accordance with DW151 and to the special requirements of our customers.  They can be installed as part of a new installation or as a retrofit, and are always fitted with mated flange connections to allow for removal from the system for maintenance or modification.  Also a wash down system can be installed to help prevent build up of salts on the blades and spindles.
