The Year 2000

October 2000: "Guess what Mom and Dad have done. They had a conservatory added to our house, and then this sofa was delivered. I love it. I think they did it just for me."
July 1, 2000: A sunny, summer day. Yesterday we had a family feast - to celebrate "dad's" happy retirement, after 38 years as a University lecturer. "Mom" roasted a large chicken, and Tess was allowed to eat in the dining room. She ate a LOT. Today was a lazy day. An early morning walk, followed by relaxation in the garden, and a ball game with Tess.

This is the path we walk with Tess every morning on our way to the river.
We love the summer landscape - but Tess doesn't really care what season it is. She just loves her walks.
"Let's play my favourite game. You throw the ball, I fetch it, then refuse to give it back to you, and you chase me to get it from me, and I bet you'll never catch me!"

Our beautiful Tess in the summer sun, July 1, 2000. Aged two years and 5 months.
June 15 2000: We spent a sunny day at the beach. Sheer joy for Tess, who loves to run at full speed into the waves, to dig holes in the sand, and inspect all the interesting stuff a dog can find on the seashore.
 This is FUN!!!
Look what I found! I am taking this ball home with me!
Dig, dig, dig, dig, dig, dig . . .
