Kim (left) and Tess became good friends.
December 2001
December 2001 was eventful. We had an extra family member, Kim, a black Lab belonging to a friend who was on holiday abroad. We were a bit worried that the two dogs would not get on, but they soon became the best of friends. Life was not dull, with the two of them running up and down the stairs, in and out of the garden - and as it was a rainy December, a lot of mud and dirt was carried into the house by eight big labrapaws. But we took it all in our stride, took them out on walks three times a day, and just enjoyed their good company.
After Christmas both Tess and Kim had to spend a few days in kennels, as we went away on a short holiday. This was Tess' first time in kennels, and first time away from her family.

Christmas 2001
Tess got a new toy for Christmas. She finds opening parcels extremely exciting, and when we go out and leave her alone in the house, we always gift wrap a biscuit and give her as we leave. She cannot wait for us to go!
 "Mine, mine, mine!"
"I hope I'm getting some of that."
