Tess is named after
a black Lab and a bird

When I ("Mom") was single and lived and worked in Iceland, I shared my life with a lovable little bird - a cockatiel named Teresa. We had many good years together, until Teresa sadly died, aged 13.

When my husband William was a little boy his family had a lovely, calm, black Labrador, Jess.
Jess provided invaluable comfort to my late mother-in-law during WWII, when she was left alone in a country cottage with two young sons while her husband was away in the army.

Tess' name is a shortened form of the names of our two best loved (until now) pets, Teresa and Jess.
