There I am in our car, all ready to go. I am a Scottish dog - and proud of it, and this summer we went on a family holiday to the Highlands.
I was told to stay put in the back seat, and did, most of the time, because I was wearing my harness, which they fastened to the seatbelts. But once they forgot - ha ha! I surprised them by jumping into the front, and trying to sit on "mom's" lap. This made "dad" very upset, especially as we were travelling at full speed on the motorway!
Invergarry: Before we left "mom" spent hours on the net, looking for hotels where dogs are allowed. Many hotels do not allow dogs, and I know for a fact that no kennels allow humans. But she found this nice hotel, where we could all sleep in the same room.
Loch Ness: NO! I am not having my picture taken with that monster. Let me get down NOW!
Up North: We spent two days visiting friends in the Highlands. This is Kasper and Linus, who is just a pup.
We went to the beach . . .
. . . and had some fun
but the guys came on a bit too strong for me. Linus was too playful and Kasper was too interested in my rear end. I admit I got a bit impatient with them - and the humans had to keep us all separated for the rest of our stay. "Mom" was upset with me, but so what.
Culloden Moor:This was the site of an important battle between the Scots and the English (we lost), and there were some monuments that "mom" and "dad" had hoped to visit. But there was a "no dogs allowed" sign there. Fortunately for me there was this big field especially for doggie visitors. I enjoyed Culloden - and "mom" bought a book about it which they could look at when we got home.
Braemar: This is where we spent the last night of our trip. By that time I had got so used to sleeping in strange places that I did not fuss at all.
It was a great hotel. There were rabbits and ducks hopping around the yard, and a strange creature on the wall in the hall.

It sometimes got quite hot in the sun, (left) and I got a bit tired between walks (big yawn) but we all had a great time.
