NORTHUMBRIAN MUSIC NIGHT Friday, April 2nd A quiet Good Friday evening around the fire, with our own entertainers and a pleasant audience providing lots of good cheer, friendliness, applause and fun. Tickets only £1.00 or 50 p concessions.
PAT KILBRIDE Friday April 9th, King's Head, Allendale This Irish entertainer fronts his own band in New York City, and also manages to fit in a tour around the British Isles now and then. He's a classic singer-songwriter-guitarist-entertainer in the traditional idiom, and you can see what he's like at his: Home Page Catch up with his tour on his Gig List Grab sound bites from all his various CDs and work over the years. LITTLE MO & ROD SINCLAIR Saturday April 17, King's Head, Allendale If you haven't yet heard Little Mo's big voice, then you haven't heard real torch singing. Let us tell you, when Little Mo opens her mouth, music pours out, and whether it's the blues, or more popular numbers, this is an evening of acoustic paradise. Accompanied by guitarist extraordinaire Rod Sinclair, and with apologies to Rod Clements, whose name we inadvertently used by mistake in earlier publicity. NORTHUMBRIAN MUSIC NIGHT Friday, April 23rd Another brilliant Friday evening around the fire, with our own entertainers and a pleasant audience providing lots of good cheer, friendliness, applause and fun. These evenings just keep getting better and better. New performers always come around, and new audiences, so the thing to do is to turn up and see what's happening. Typically, the evenings consist of 2 sessions of sing-around or play-around, when each entertainer provides us with a couple of numbers. We have a small break for the raffle, which supports the whole enterprise, and then have another go, getting either more silly, or more serious, as the mood, or the libation, takes us. Tickets only £1.00 or 50 p concessions.
JEZ LOWE & THE BAD PENNIES Friday, April 30th, The King's Head We think this is a first for Allendale, and not before time, considering Jez is back from successful tours in Spain, the USA, and all around the UK, and with the Bad Pennies has only just squeezed us in. A great northeastern, not to say Geordie talent, and we're delighted to present this brilliant band. Simon Hawarth , one of the Bad Pennies who also plays with Tom McConville & Pauline Cato, has his own home page, and of course Judy Dinning, another Bad Penny, is a founder member of the LUCKY BAGS so we're really pleased to welcome this superb bunch of entertainers to the intimate stage.
