Friday 5th May, King's Head

KARAOKE NIGHT!

Nothing to do with us, we hasten to add, this is one of the elimination rounds before the incredible Karaoke-Fest at Allendale's May Fair, traditionally held the first weekend of June, and why not.

So, we let our hair down once in a while . . .

Friday 12th May

~9:00 pm

The King's Head, Allendale

MUSIC NIGHT! Again at last!

It's always unique, always an experience to be savoured, treasured, brought out again and inspected, compared, chuckled over, commiserated with, full of aplomb, bonhomie and even good humour, and we note sometimes the odd redundant phrase, song and spasm is often inserted to trap the unwary, who might think these evenings are entirely unrehearsed.

Entry for non-entertainers is only £1.00 and we're happy to find reasons for concessionary tickets of only 50p. Of course, if you can do a number, a turn, a party-piece for us at the front, you're very welcome and we won't charge you a penny!

Saturday 20th May

8:00 pm

Allendale Village Hall

The Pierre Schryer Band

We present our review of Pierre's visit here last year, and with the link above to his website in Canada, there's not a whole lot more to say, really, except that it's going to be a great night! Brilliant fun for all the family to enjoy.

With the famous NMN fully licensed bar, of course, for the best cask-conditioned ale in the village, and all manner of other refreshments.

Tickets are only £6.00 or £3.00 concessions, for this super weekend show.

Booking is advised: (01434) 685047

Friday 26th May

SPECIAL MUSIC NIGHT!

(Liz Law & Terry Conway)

Local Superstars in Allendale

It's been well over a year since Terry Conway and Liz Law had a night of their own on the local stage (reviewed), and their fans have been clamouring for a return engagement for some time.

With a bundle of new material, this engaging duo features Terry's inimitable songs, sparkling delivery and accomplished guitar with Liz's effervescent Appalachian dulcimer accompaniment.

It will be an evening sure to delight those who like the best quality of traditional music, honed in the local idiom, and polished to a burnished glow in clubs up and down the country.

Terry Conway is, and always has been, the veritable musical heart of the Northumbrian Music Nights venture in Allendale, and it's a special delight to welcome him back with Liz Law to perform on the intimate stage of the King's Head, on Friday the 26th of May.

The harmonies won't get much better, nor will the feelings run much deeper, as when some of the original local favourites are performed again. This is music with Northumbrian soul and passion expressed as you'd expect with great subtlety and with exquisite refinement. with possibly a few favoured performances from the floor. Lovely, intimate and fun!

King's Head £3.00

THE SNAKE DAVIS BAND!

There's not a lot we can say, that we haven't said already, about the biggest, best and our most favourite of all times band ever to grace any stage in Allendale, (last year's show reviewed) except to say that tickets are going incredibly quickly, and if you don't book, you could well be disappointed. Tickets do not guarantee seats, of course, though we'll do our best to accommodate everybody. But we expect the village hall to be heaving, on Sunday night, and the surround-sound will be so lush, so magnificent, and the saxophone so special, the Hammond organ so superlative, and the accompanying guitars so solidly brilliant, that it'll be a delight to listen in whatever position you find yourself.

Sunday, 28th May, Bank Holiday Weekend, Allendale Village Hall

Bar opens 7:00 for show at 8:00

£7.50

We do advise pre-booking, and we will take payment in advance, for this show. Email us for details, or telephone our NMN hotline at (01434) 685047
