Northumbrian Music Nights Host the Music Marquee at

Northumberland County Show, Corbridge

with special thanks to our sponsors

JCB kick off the show

JCB are Julia Say, Colin Ross, and Barry Say

Genial compère for the day Andy Morgan also set up the PA system as well. A tour de force for the realisation of an exciting programme of brilliant music!

"That's the A68!"

One of two instrument makers on display,

Andy Morgan's mandola and guitars

made an attractive feature in the tent.

NMN Regular Pete Ryder with songs of wit and enchantment.

Ray Fisher was a most welcome presence in the music tent, and her songs were deeply appreciated.

Brian Watson

lent an authentic Northumbrian voice to the proceedings.

Colin Ross leads the band in a merry chase!

At one time there were 9 pipers piping on stage at the County Show.

Concentration tells as the fingers fly.

All in time together.

Carrie Winger & Liz Hughan in close harmony on an agricultural theme.

Joined by Larry Winger in a bouncy Artisan number.

Ian Brown's guitar work enchants all ages.

Apologies to Jack Hollingdale, and to Susan Brown and Glynn Galley, who featured brilliantly in the programme -- the video film ran out too soon!

Jack's set provided some intriguing Leonard Cohen material for a different mood, and Susan and Glynn's set really caught fire when the BBC film crew moved toward the front to catch their clarinet, guitar and vocal rendition.

After the show, the organisers were caught in a torrential downpour, and only just escaped getting stuck in the parking lot!

Extra special thanks to all volunteers who helped out on the day, including Lynda MacGregor, Ken Hooker, Stephanie Atkinson, Jane Brantom and Rob, Tony and Anne May.

On the BBC's late night regional news, the Northumbrian Music Nights tent was the first clip shown of a brief compilation of "some of the 300 regional musical events" that day associated with the BBC's Music Live Millenium promotion.
