Saturday 7th October, King's Head Launching the amazing Northumberland Traditional Music Festival, from the 7th to the 14th October, with a scintillating pub concert, this will be a lovely intimate gig, for sure.   LUCKY BAGS     This gig marks the third time we've featured The LUCKY BAGS, and maybe that's because we just love them. Our review of a previous show was certainly ecstatic, and deservedly so. Of course, we sort of feel they belong here, and why not! Tickets only £5.00 or £4.00 concessions, and you're advised to book early for this lovely gig. What we said about The LUCKY BAGS gig this time. Friday 13th October, King's Head, Allendale from 8:30 pm Another feature in our WOMEN with WELLY Programme !!!!   KRISTINA OLSEN & PETER GRAYLING     Tickets only £6.50 This is another feature in our incredible Women with Welly programme, with apologies to Peter, who also has loads of welly. We just love Kristina and Peter, and from our advance bookings, we can tell this is going to be an incredible show . . . the word on the street, such streets as we have in Northumberland, is that this classy duo is on top form, and we're in for a real treat. Get your shekels ready to buy loadsaCDs, because this is music you'll want to treasure forever. But then, that intimate moment in the King's Head when the lights dim, when Kristina breathes a sigh across her chest, when Peter's cello rises to meet the occasion, oh my, that's another of those moments that will last forever too. Kristina Olsen has also done a special benefit CD called Phoebe's Iceberg on behalf of the Jennifer Trust for Spinal Muscular Atrophy -- the link is well worth a visit -- and the tune is something that you will remember forever. Gill Bowman is an amazing solo artist in her own right, having recorded 3 albums of music in the traditional vein, and she's also been active in theatrical productions involving operatic divas at Edinburgh's Fringe, so you know that's going to be a serious voice. Add in her guitar, and that'll be lovely -- Gill may even do a bit of Rabbie Burns if you ask her nicely. Karine Polwart sings lead for Malinky, having stormed all over the UKthis summer, and she's recently been signed to sing with The Battlefield Band.
