Friendly folk legends return
to the King's Head!
It's been nearly two years since we had the pleasure of
welcoming Pauline and Tom onto the intimate stage at the
King's Head in Allendale, although they appeared in the
region last December.
Tom and Pauline held their audience at the King's
entirely spellbound, as they wove their infectious magic to
envelope the capacity audience. It was hardly surprising
they were a feature of the entertainment at another venue in
December. But as we remember that particular gig, however,
this incredibly talented duo got a bit of a short shrift,
and some of the audience went away feeling considerably
cheated. We won't mention the name of that venue, of
course, but one thing we can virtually guarantee at the
King's Head is ample opportunity for our favourite
professional artists to shine!
So we were delighted when Tom contacted us for this early
December show, not only because of Pauline's way with the
Northumbrian pipes, and not only because Tom is probably the
classic Geordie fiddler, and not only because his songs are
emblems of the heritage of the North-East, and not only
because this duo is a favourite on the folk scene all around
the UK, and not only because we've been implored to have
them back, and not only because their performance is just a
thrill in the warm glow of the upstairs fire . . . .
. . . but also because of all the entertainers
we've had over the years in the 'Dale, these two just love
their audience the very very best.
And that sort of quid pro quo is what the friendly folks
in the Northumbrian Music Nights organisation want to
promote. So here they are!
Booking is advised -- the venue is intimate,
and space is limited!
