Every time you get up in front of people and perform, it's like a competition with yourself, your previous best, the best you want to be, the best you can hope to be, the best that you are.
But that doesn't mean there aren't some cheerful competitions that can help to brighten up your day, whether you win or lose.

Like our regular evening raffle. Only 50p a ticket, for a chance to win a bottle of wine, perhaps a complimentary CD or cassette, from among the promotional ones we receive from anticipatory artistes, perhaps a free ticket to the next great show!
Or how about the promotion we're running for readers of our newsletter and these web pages? Print out this page, which contains a coupon entitling the bearer, subject to availability, to 1 free ticket to the O'DB gig on Friday September 11, for every 3 tickets purchased at the regular price of only £6.00. A steal at any price, and a dream of a competition where everybody wins.

Alternatively, if you've got a spare bedroom, and you live conveniently in the Tynedale area and wouldn't mind putting up an artiste or two after their gig, drop us a line, we're often quite desperate to find suitable accomodation, as hospitality is one of our major volunteer efforts. So this is a sort of competition where the artiste and the hosts win. Eeee, it's amazing what we can figure out when we put our minds together.
Alternatively, if you come along to a show, why not do a canny review for us? If we like it, we might present it here on our web pages, or we might submit it, if it's timely and worthwhile, along to the local press. So there's a wee clever competition that brings unparalleled joy to the audience and co-participants.
