PLATO

Plato is a JavaScript program for Internet Explorer 4+. You will need sound output too. Plato stands for Place the Tonic. When you press the start button you will see a sentence and hear it spoken. Your task is to use the left and right on-screen arrow keys to highlight the tonic syllable (also called the nuclear syllable) of the utterance you hear. You can hear the spoken sentence as many times as you like by clicking the "HEAR AGAIN" button. Once you think you have indicated the right syllable, click the "ENTER" button and find out if you were right. To continue to the next utterance, click the "NEXT" button. There are a couple of sets for you to choose from. More will be added soon. Each set contains 10 sentences.
