Oberammergau Passion Play: May - September 2010
|
||||||
In 1633 the small village of Oberammergau in Bavaria was in the grip of the plague. The inhabitants vowed that if they were spared, every ten years they would perform the Passion Play, depicting Christ's bitter suffering. In 1634 the villagers fulfilled their solemn promise for the first time, and have continued the tradition ever since, for hundreds of years (even during times of war). |
Being advertised worldwide, you can imagine that there is a huge demand for tickets. We at Euro Breaks (Southampton), working with our worldwide agents, are now taking requests for bookings.
No monies need be exchanged at the moment, we only need to know numbers.
Please let us know of your interest by filling in the relevant sections on our booking form, or by using any of the methods stated on the contact page.
Our intention is to make the Passion Play a part of an 8 day Austrian holiday. The plays start in May and run through to September 2010.
Prices will be available from 2008 when the Oberammergau organisers release them.
The price will include accommodation for one night with local families. This has worked well in the past and fits in perfectly within our itinerary.
More information will be made available nearer the time.
