itinerary - 13-24 August 2007
| Day 1 | Depart for our P&O Dover/Calais Ferry crossing to France and our first overnight stop in Lille at the Novotel Hotel. |
| Day 2 | Leaving Lille we tour through the Rhine Valley in Germany before taking our next overnight stop in Ruedesheim at the Lindenwirt Hotel. |
| Day 3 | Leaving after breakfast, we continue our journey south through Germany and into Switzerland to our main stay hotel in Giswil. |
| Day 4 | Take a day off, relax and enjoy the local area. |
| Day 5 | A day trip to Lucerne travelling through a backdrop of delightful mountain and lakeside settings. The city itself straddles the Reuss River and has a number of bridges. The most famous is the 14th century covered Chapel Bridge (Kapellbrücke). The oldest road bridge in Europe. The river banks on both sides are clustered with medieval squares, frescoed houses, ancient guildhalls, churches and chapels. |
| Day 6 | On our trip today we will take a circular scenic drive of the Susten, Furka and Grimsel Passes. You will experience breath taking scenery and travel along the most photographed mountain roads in Switzerland. |
| Day 7 | Our trip today takes us to Brienz which is a pretty village in the Bernese Oberland. The town itself is the centre of the Woodcarving Industry and is located on a cobalt-blue lake named after the town. After a walk and refreshments in Brienz, we will continue our journey and stop off at Grindelwald. A picturesque traditional mountain village at the foot of the Eiger mountain. |
| Day 8 | Today we will take a leisurely trip to Sarnen which is the historic capital of the canton of Obwalden and is surrounded by lovely alpine countryside and beautiful mountains. |
| Day 9 | A day to relax, take a stroll and do some last minute shopping before we depart Switzerland on our journey home. |
| Day 10 | After breakfast we set off on our way back to Ruedesheim – overnight stop. |
| Day 11 | Drive back up the beautiful Rhine valley en-route to Lille – our last overnight stop. |
| Day 12 | Say farewell to Europe as we take the ferry back to England and our homeward journey. |
