David BryneVicar: Revd David Byrne

Margaret and I came to serve at St Chad’s in June 2002. I enjoy meeting and listening to people, especially when there is an opportunity to talk about what God is saying and doing in the world. I particularly value the opportunities in church life to get to grips with the Bible’s teaching and how it is relevant to everyday issues. I am keen to encourage the church to fulfil it’s commission from Jesus to share his Good News with people.

When we have time away from church responsibilities I enjoy the countryside, classical music, history and occasionally do a spot of gardening. If you live in Patchway or Stoke Lodge you may have seen me on my three-wheel pedal cycle. Give me a wave next time you see me and, if I’ve got time, I’ll stop and say Hello.

I get fairly involved in church life but see my role as being a supportive wife thus freeing David to minister in the parish. I have joined two community groups and enjoy visiting when I can. In my free time I am trying to learn the piano and develop my computer skills. My hobbies include photography and stamp collecting. I also cycle, but on two wheels.

Methodist Minister: Rosemary DavisRevd Rosemary Davis

I have been the Methodist Minister at St. Chad's since September 2000 and value being able to work in an ecumenical team at St. Chad's. I live in Filton with my husband Robert who works locally. I am also the Minister at St. Andrew's Methodist Church in Filton and do some part-time chaplaincy work at the University of the West of England.

I enjoy meeting people and helping them to grow in their faith. Recently I did a course on storytelling and am interested in how this medium can be used to help people hear the gospel. I particularly enjoy my pastoral work and leading worship.

Music plays a large part in my life. I enjoy listening to classical music especially but I also play several instruments and sing in the local university choir .I enjoy driving and exploring places of historical interest at home and abroad. One of my greatest treats is getting stuck into a good book with a cup of coffee in my hand and maybe a biscuit or two !
