Frampton-on-Severn CC vs Fairford CCFairford lost by three wickets a match they needed to have won, their play with bat and ball often being poor. Asked to bat on a wicket offering excessive lateral movement early on, town lost Leadbeater, Grey and Bullock for just 40. Then came Towns brightest batting from Newport and Greener who again imposed himself against indifferent bowling racing to 37 before being caught in the deep, at 93-4 off 20 overs a 200 plus score looked possible. Town middle order where made to struggle against the change bowling and only Newport coped as he marshalled some circumspect batting to finish with 65 not out including nine boundaries, his third away fifty of the season. In reply Peyman took an early wicket, town however failed to exert any sustained pressure, too many four balls offered and put away and Frampton romped past the hundred at drinks for the loss of just one wicket. Moreing and Newport then took two quick wickets each as town found some form with the ball, neither could remove Frazer who was to club his way to 83. Bird returned to take his and another wicket but despite a concerted and determined effort, Cooks and the Clarke twins excelling in the field it was a too late by town and Frampton scrambled home with just six balls to spare.
