All in all, moving house meant much change in our circumstances, but children can clearly adapt to their situation because before long we were enjoying our new home very much. Looking back over the thirties and forties years I cannot imagine a more pleasant neighbourhood in which to raise children. As Alun Llywelyn-Williams says, - "I must say that I do not know of any town more lovely its position than Brecon, in a sheltered, gentle valley beside one of the most beautiful rivers of Wales, and the majestic turrets of the Beacons striding the blue horizon."
