I've just bought a Metcal SMT-1160 hot-air pencil from Ebay and I'm hoping that it will simplify construction of my Wearwulf prototype. While I can reliably solder SMT devices, I do find it fiddly. Hopefully using solder paste and a hot-air pencil will be less frustrating.
I'm almost tempted to fire up my pick-and-place machine (inhertited from my former place of work) and go into production with the Wearwulf, but I'm not sure how many customers I'd have :-)
I'm in the midst of spring cleaning my room at the moment - it's only just starting to look like I'll have more space rather than less once everything is back in place.
