Ahlan Wa Sahlan 2002 2 videos from last years fantastic dance festival. Raqia Hassan's dance festival, Ahlan wa Sahlan, goes from strength to strength. The video this year is really good quality and the camera man focuses on the dancer! Opening Show: This starts with introductions then a taste of the fashion show so you get to see a few of Amira El Kattans fabulous designs. This has been edited as it was much longer on the night! Dandesh starts the evening with a long show. She includes just about every tableau including a candelabra number and a tongue in cheek number where she takes off Soheir Zeki and Aida Noor - both of whom are in the audience and are highly entertained. It is lovely to see Dandesh relaxed and using her sense of humour to its best advantage. Next we see Soraya, a Brazillian born dancer who is working professionally in Cairo and has her own show at the Casablanca restaurant in Cairo. A fabulous performer, well worth seeing. To finishe this video in style, is Dina. Cairo's top star. Dina knows how to entertain a crowd and is on form here. Closing Show: This video starts with a tribute to Oum Kalthoum. 10 dancers from different countries dance to music made famous by the great legend. The skill is variable but the standard good. Look out for Lila in a pink Amira costume (called Laila on the video). Lila is now working professionally in Cairo and can be seen at the Aladdin restaurant. Our first solo star is Rhanda - very strong and dramatic dancer. Definitely worth seeing - and there are not many videos of her around. Next, Noor, who has a much lighter feel to her dance. Of Russian origin, Noor is very popular in Cairo. The show again closes with Dina. She is so dynamic on stage, it is difficult to take your eyes off her for fear of missing something. Here you can rewind and watch again! I hope this resume helps you choose the right video for you. Currently out of stock - waiting new videos of 2003 festival. I am also trying to get hold of some more copies of 2002.
