w/e 17th April 2010

U11’s – On 17th April the U11’s were at home to Witnesham. The ‘A’ Side recorded a 1-0 win and, with just one game remaining, consolidates their final league position of 6th place. The goal coming from Mathew Haskell. The ‘B’ side suffered a 1-0 reverse and also with just one league game remaining will finish the season in 5th place.

U12’s – CHAMPIONS! – The U12’s romped to an emphatic 8-1 victory over lowly Brantham Athletic to secure the league title with one game remaining. All the boys need now is to win their cup final on 13th May to secure a memorable double. Well done Steve McDade and the boys, a great season. The lemonade is freely flowing and the coaches can enjoy a Dandelion and Burdock perhaps.

U13’s – Played away to East Bergholt and were defeated by 2-0. With still 3 games top play, the boys still have a lot to play for and can improve their 8th place in the league.

U14’s – The boys were away to a competitive Whitton side and found the home side too strong going down 5-0. Despite the result there were some good performances and a special mention must go to lone striker Matty Bolt who had a great game and worked tirelessly throughout.
Next Sat the boys play their penultimate game of the season at home to title contenders Trimley Red Devils.

U15’s – Played three games in as many days in order to catch up their league program. On 15th April the boys played away to Brantham and came away with a 4-2 victory. Then on 17th April the boys played home to Wickham Market and recorded a 2-2 draw. Then on 22nd April the boys played host to 2nd placed Ransomes and following an exciting encounter, were victorious 1-0. This keeps the boys in 3rd place and still in with a shout to win the title. 3 games remaining.

U16’s –  Away to our nemesis Trimley Red Devils and conceded 5 goals with out reply. Just a few games remaining and unlikely to improve on their place in the league.

w/e 10th April 2010

U11’s – Made the most of the free week-end once again by playing two 11 aside friendlies. All good practice for next season. On Saturday 10th we played away to Martlesham and won 11-0. The goal scorers were two own goals, Charlie Driver 2, Matthew Haskells 1, Joe Allum 2, Harley Barkes 1 & Aaron Bull 3. Then on Sunday 11th we were at home to Chantry. Felixstowe won 4-1, goal scorers Aaron Bull 1, William Egerton Stanbridge 2 & Harry (Stano) Stanbridge 1

U12’s - lost 3-2 to Claydon. Both teams played really well and with 5 minutes to go we missed a one on one with the keeper only to see them break and score!!! Our first goal was an og. Their defender headed it in just in front of our striker. Georgi Thrower got the other. We still need that elusive single point to clinch the championship with just two games remaining, although with a far superior goal difference, we should get the title. if we are not careful, the lemonade currently on ice will be frozen!

U14’s – were back in league action away to fellow strugglers Sutton Heath knowing that a victory would take them above their opponents. On a bobbly pitch the game started fairly evenly with either side unable to get the ball down and play. The opening goal came midway through the half when a speculative shot by Byron Melton was dropped by the keeper for Joseph Welham to strike the ball into an empty net from 2 yrds. 10 minutes later the lead was doubled when the tireless Nathan Gould closed down the keeper to score. HT 2-0 to the Seasiders.

The half time team talk was for more of the same and to keep tight in defence, however 5 minutes into the half the home side were given a lifeline when a cross from the left wasn't dealt with and the ball was allowed to bounce and looped over the diving keeper. In fairness to the boys they kept going and got back into a 2 goal lead when Nathan claimed his second goal of the game from close range. Once again though Sutton Heath were allowed back into the game when another cross wasn't dealt with as the defence watched the ball cross the 6 yard box for an attacker to score at the far post. The result was still in doubt until 10 minutes from time when a clever overhead kick by Joseph Welham found the back of the net for his second goal of the game.

FT 4-2 to the Seasiders. The first three points of what has been a very long season. A result which also lifts them off the bottom of the table. Next week the boys are on the road again to face Whitton Utd hoping to build on today's result!

U16’s –  were away to Wetherden & Haughley and once again our poor league form continued with a 2-1 reverse. Luke Fountain getting the seasiders goal.

w/e 3rd April 2010

Many Teams had an Easter week-end off, those that played:

U9’s – played away to Brantham Athletic and the ‘A’ side found the opposition a tough nut to crack. In an exciting game, Brantham were the dominant force and the Felixstowe boys finding the Brantham attack a handful thus reflecting a 4-1 deficit. The ‘B’ side fared much better by outdoing the opposition and coming away with fine a 3-1 victory

U12’s – played away to Whitton United and it was Whitton who raised a few eye brows in the U12’s league. Yes, for the first time this season, our boys have tasted defeat and the league championship will have to wait another week at least. The boys need just a solitary point from the remaining few games to secure the league trophy. A 5-2 reverse with Charlie Bance and Georgi Thrower the U12’s scorers

U15’s – Played away to Sporting 87 and our dominance proved far too great for a Sporting 87 side who have struggled in the league this season. An emphatic 6-1 rout with Josh Algar netting a brace and one each from Matty Barratt, Daniel Bowditch, Ben Bullock and Jordan Youngs.

w/e 27th March 2010

U9’s – ‘B’ side only (‘A’ side had no game) played in the semifinal of the ‘Plate’ and came away with a fine 3-1 won over Witnesham. Charlie Smith and Charlie Boggis (2) were the marksmen. The boys will now face Ransomes U9’s in the final.

U10’s – No Game

U11’s – No league fixture this week end so Under 11's arranged a friendly 11 a side against Whitton
Felixstowe won 5-4 with goals from Jake Woodley, Harley Barkes & a hatrick from Aaron Bull.

U12’s – who are likely to win their league come next week end, romped in to the U12’s cup semi-final with an emphatic 6-1 victory over Framlingham Town. C. Savage, F. McDade, M. Harrold 2, J. Dalziel, G. Thrower getting the U12’s goals. The boys will now meet St. Johns in the final on the 8th May.

U13’s – The U13’s made their respective cup final by defeating Wickham Market in the semi-final by a comfortable 5-1 score line.

U14’s – No Game

U15’s – The U15’s made it to their respective league final with a 3-1 semi-final win over Bramford United with J. Algar, S. Pett, J. Youngs the proud scorers.

U16’s – won through to their respective final beating Ipswich Hawks 3-2 in their semi-final L. Fountain, L. King, T. Spink on the score sheet. What a great result for Jason Gregory’s boys. They have played some super football during the season but lady luck has often been against them in their league program. This cup final appearance is nothing more than the boys deserve and doubtless they will enjoy their day out in May.

w/e 20th March 2010

U9’s – entertained a very good, strong unbeaten Framlingham side who are currently dominating our league so a massive task for our ‘A’ side boys. What a great first half performance, all the boys worked very hard and we restricted Framlingham to just a couple of long range efforts. We closed down quickly and got the ball forward to Hayden early who was working hard and putting the defence under constant pressure when they had the ball. h/t 0-0 The second half started and within 10 seconds a thunderbolt shot from outside the area flew in the corner to put Framlingham one up. All credit to the boys they continued to work hard and a through ball from Finn put Hayden away with just the keeper to beat but he made a very good save to knock the ball out for a corner. Fram always looked dangerous coming forward but with just one goal in it we were always in the game. We forced a few corners but the Fram defence held firm. With seconds to go Fram went forward and another great strike into the bottom corner sealed victory. Probably the closest Fram have been run all season so very proud of the lads for a great performance f/t 0-2.
The ‘B’ side gave a very entertaining first half, end to end stuff with no team breaking through h/t 0-0 The second half very much the same and it was Fram who opened the scoring with a long range effort that flew over Harrison into the top corner. We came back strong and soon equalised when top scorer Kieran Butcher calmly slotted the ball home. Either team could have won the match with chances at both ends but a fair result in the end. f/t 1-1

U10’s – Played host to Trimley Red Devils this week. The ‘A’ side found things a little tough going and in a frustrating match could not break the TRD defence down. With both sides playing some good football, each attack was cancelled out with good defending. Final result a 0-0 draw.
The ‘B’ side secured another 3 points with a well earned 2-0 victory.

U11’s – Away to Woodbridge Town this week. The ‘A’ team were very strong, all players were working well & it should have been Felixstowe ahead at half time. Aaron Bull had a good run & a shot on target which was saved. Felixstowe were awarded a corner which Bradley Bullock took, it was amazing, everyone cheered as it looked like it had gone in. Felixstowe carried on defending & everyone was working hard. However by half time Woodbridge were 1-0 up. In to the 2nd Half & Felixstowe conceded two more goals but the game was brilliant to watch & action in both halves. Felixstowe did have a few chances to try & get back into the game. Oliver Rose in goal made some cracking saves for Felixstowe & Walton, however Felixstowe still were entertaining to watch. Final Score Woodbridge 3 Felixstowe & Walton 0. The ‘B’ team were involved in another great game to watch. Josh Young had a shot wide, Ben Read took a shot from the half way line which was bobbled by the goalie who managed to hold on to it. Connor Sorhaindo had a shot wide.  Woodbridge took the lead . Harley Barkes had a good run which managed to produce a corner. Jake Woodley & Connor Sorhaindo were both working well in midfield. Harry Webster made a good save. Ollie Ruffles had a shot wide.
Josh Young had an impressive 3rd week in the B team There was a lot of action from Felixstowe & they were unlucky not to score. Callum Burrows was defending well towards the end of the game and there was a good run from Connor Sorhaindo who passed to Ollie Ruffles & then onto Josh who had the shot saved. Harley Barkes also passing the ball to Connor who had a shot saved. Jake Woodley gave a good run too. Final score Woodbridge 2 Felixstowe & Walton 0.

U12’s – ALMOST THERE! – Another fine victory this weeks at the hands of Holbrook 6-0. We need just 4 points from a remaining possible 18 to win the Championship. Our goals plus column reads 50 whilst our nearest rivals have just plus 11. Lemonade on iced at the mo – watch this space nest week!

U13’s – No game for the U13’s this week.

U14’s – After a weeks break the boys travelled to Ipswich to play mid table Martlesham Mustangs. The boys got off to the best possible start when Joe Conian finished a fine move to score in the first minute. This set the tone for a very entertaining half with both teams looking dangerous on the attack. Unfortunately the Felixstowe defence couldn't cope with the strength and speed of the Hurricanes striker who was instrumental in the home sides three first half goals, although Joe's second goal of the half kept the game in the balance. HT 3-2. The second half was a tight affair with both sides creating very few chances. Unfortunately it was the home side that scored their all important fourth goal to seal the victory. FT 4-2. The team's next fixture is on 10th April away to fellow strugglers Sutton Heath.

U15’s – Home to Saxmundham this week and another pleasing performance. We were good for our win 1-0 with Luke Turner on the score sheet. We are sitting comfortably in 4th space in the league with 7 games remaining.

U16’s – Played away to Whitton United and the boys once again put in a 100% effort to get something out of this game. Liam King was on the score sheet but try as hard as we did we were sadly beaten 5-1

w/e 13th March 2010

U9’s – were at home to Woodbridge Town and the ‘A’ team came away with a creditable draw, 1 goal each. The Seasiders goal coming from Haydn Craft.  Then ‘B’ team on the other hand were beaten 1-00 by a very good Woodbridge side.

U10’s – were at home to Whitton United and the ‘A’ team recorded a 1-1 draw. The ‘B’ team fared much better taking all 3 points with a comfortable 2-0 victory

U11’s – Travelled to Kesgrave for our league encounter and the ‘A’ team were involved in a fantastic match from start to finish. Felixstowe were back to their best & had chances throughout the game, but It was Joe Allum who put Felixstowe on the score sheet very early in the game with a screamer of a goal. Every player played at their best & Ollie Rose had little to do in goal. Felixstowe had chances galore & there could easily have been more goals. Aaron Bull & Joe Allum had so many chances, even the ref thought that Aaron had scored when the ball just hit the top of the bar & hit the netting. Bradley Bullock & Matthew Haskells who were both in midfield had a few chances of scoring. Charlie Driver & John Kelly were strong in defence An outstanding performance by the whole team & a thoroughly enjoyable game. In the final minutes of the game, Kesgrave had a couple of corners which was a bit tense, but luckily Felixstowe came out as the winners.
Final score Kesgrave 0 Felixstowe & Walton 1.

The B team were also involved in another enjoyable game. Felixstowe had many chances in the first half with Harley Barkes having a header saved. Josh Young for the second week running was having an excellent game. Josh Young & Callum Burrows both having shots wide. Half time & was 0-0, but it was the 2nd half that made the game ours. Jake Woodley had a few shots saved, but it was a good run from Jake where he finally scored the goal allowing Felixstowe to take the lead. Another few chances but it was Connor Sorhaindo who scored the 2nd goal after Josh had hit the post & had a shot saved. This game was very similar to the A team. Harry Stanbridge was solid at the back. In the final minutes of the game Ben Read came close only for the goalie to make a good save. Final score Kesgrave 0 Felixstowe & Walton 2.

U12’s – At home to Frmalingham Town and won 6-0. The boys need just 1 point from our last 4 games to win the league. Even if we don’t get it and our only rivals win all their 3 remaining games, we have a goal difference of +50 against their +11!!! This time next week we could celebrating as champions.

U13’s – No game for the U13’s this week or next week.

U14’s – No game for the U14’s this week

U15’s – Entertained Whitton United and ended a great game by taking all three points following a superb 3-0 victory. Goal coming from Barratt, Turner & Youngs

U16’s – No game for our U16’ this week.

U16’s Girls – No reports to date.

6th March 2010

U9’s – Involved on cup duty again this week with only the ‘B’ team playing since the ‘A’ side are out of the competition. A great win for the boys against a very strong Framlingham side. 3-0 up at half time with goals from Kieran Butcher scoring twice and 1 from Charlie Smith. Framlingham came at us in the 2nd half and pulled a goal back but we held firm and deservedly take our place in the semi finals.

U10’s – Also on cup duty this weekend and also entertained Framlingham. The A's had no game and the B's had a cup quarter final against which was played at Ipswich Athletics ground. After starting really well, but not taking their chances, they eventually lost 4-0 on a cold, windswept morning.

U11’s – St John's at home and the A team started well & were the better team in the first 15 minutes of the game. Having plenty of chances but not putting them away. Charlie Driver had a shot which went wide, Sam Gilder headed the ball wide from a corner. A pass from Aaron Bull to Joe Allum was given another chance to score only to be saved by the goalie.

Aaron Bull made some good runs down the wing crossing the ball in to make chances. Felixstowe were 2-0 down at half time by two easy goals for St John’s. 2nd half & Felixstowe still had a few chances from Joe Allum & a header over the bar by from Sam Gilder but it just wasn't Felixstowe's day. St John’s were awarded a penalty making it 3-0 to them & then scoring a late goal making it 4-0. The B team was a different game & Felixstowe played really well. St John’s had a few chances however the Seasiders keeper, Harry Webster, made some really good saves. Ben Read was strong in defence and Josh Youngs had a shot saved. 2nd half & Felixstowe were awarded a penalty after Harley Barkes was brought down. However he took the penalty & slotted it away. Josh Young’s was impressive & played some really good football, he was everywhere. However Felixstowe still had a few more chances to increase their score, Callum Burrows had a shot saved & hit the ball over the bar. Ollie Ruffles had a couple of shots saved & Josh & Young nearly scored from a corner. A good game for the B team. Final score Felixstowe & Walton 1 St John’s 0.

U12’s – beat 1st division Debenham 3-1 in the Cup quarter final. The boys played superbly and really deserved the win against a very good team.
We’ve got Framlingham in the semis on the 27th March.

U13’s – Away to Martlersham Youth Bombers in the league and recorded a well deserved 4-2 victory. This puts the boys in mid table with 12 points from 11 games.

U14’s – The U14's entertained 3rd from bottom side Kesgrave Kestrels knowing that defeat today would condemn the boys to Division 2 next season. On a badly torn up pitch the game started evenly with neither sides really creating many chances, however half way through the half Kesgrave scored the first goal of the game when the Felixstowe defence once again failed to pick up an advancing player who scored with a free header from a corner. That's three goals conceded from set pieces in the last two games. Great credit to the boys they didn't drop their heads and right on the stroke of half time equalised. The tireless front running of striker Nathan Gould paid off when he collected the ball 25yrds out with plenty of work still to do. He weaved his way past three defenders before coolly slotted the ball past the advancing keeper. His second goal in as many games. HT 1-1. The second half was a scrappy affair with neither side really taking control. Unfortunately Kesgrave scored the only goal of the half although the boys thought that they had scored an equaliser with two minutes remaining when debutant Adriano Augusto slotted past the diving keeper only to have it ruled out for offside. Final score 1-2.This was the third game in the last five where the boys have lost by the odd goal. If they can stop conceding from set pieces then that elusive three points will surely come, however games are running out.

U15’s – Played away to Whitton United in the cup quarter final. What a cracker this was. End to end stuff with neither side giving too much away and trying to convert everything at the other end. All square at the final whistle and in to extra time. Still no decider at the end of Extra time, 1-1 being the final outcome. So, to penalties and the tension is surreal. The Seasiders eventual winners 5 penalties to 4

U16’s – Has the tide now turned for our U16’s? away to Woodbridge Town in a plate (cup) match and victors 1 goal to nil. Mike Peters netting that all important winner.

U16’s Girls – No reports to date.

27th February 2010

U9’s – The U9’s were on cup duty this weekend with a home tie against Martlesham Youth Wolves. The ‘A’ side made heavy work of this fixture and found their opponents a little too much to handle. Try as they did, the boys could not break down a resolute  Martlesham defense. Cracks if the home side defense became evident and were exploited by the opposition scoring two goals to our none and thus progressed to the next round. Hard luck on our boys. The ‘B’ side fared much better by clinching a deserved 2-1 victory and will fly the under 9’s flag in the next round.

U10’s – Saturday was a very positive day, with both teams winning well. The A's started in their traditional slow manner, going a goal behind very early on. However once they got over this early set back played some good football running out 3-1 winners. Two very well taken goals from Matthew Mayes, and another good finish from Luke Barnes.

The B's tried to play good passing football from the start, and ran out comfortable winners against the league leaders by 3-0. It was nice to hear the comments of the opposition coaches that it was the best B team they had seen all year. The goals came from Matthew Tetley, Kieran Beckett and Kian Smith-Howell.

U11’s –  A team - Felixstowe started badly & within five minutes they were 2-0 down by two easy goals, that could have been avoided. However, Joe Allum was unlucky to score with about 4 chances. On his 4th attempt the goalie saved for Aaron Bull to then score making it 1-2. Felixstowe appeared to be getting back in the game & were starting to look stronger. Sam Gilder & Charlie Driver were strong in defense, however in the 2nd half Witnesham were just too strong for Felixstowe knocking in 3 more goals. Josh Young had a chance to score hitting the ball over the bar. Joe Allum & Aaron Bull came close to having some chances in the 2nd half, but were not put away.
Final score Felixstowe & Walton 1 Witnesham Wasps 5.

B team - Felixstowe started well with Jake Woodley having a good run in the first half & had a few chances of scoring. Harry Stanbridge had a shot saved. By Half time Felixstowe were 2-0 down, however Ollie Rose in goal made some really good saves. 2nd half & Callum Burrows had a good run only to hit the side netting. Connor Sorhaindo had a shot saved. Jake & Callum had a good run of footie & were unlucky to get anything out of it.
Witnesham then scored again in the 2nd half. Ollie Ruffles had a shot wide & in the dying seconds Connor Sorhaindo had a chance to score but hit wide. However Ben Read & John Kelly tried their best at the back.
Final score Felixstowe & Walton 0 Witnesham Wasps 3.

U12’s – No game – Water logged pitch

U13’s – Following last week’s emphatic cup victory, the boys were on cup duty again this week. Sadly not so much good fortune this week as they bowed out of the competition by a 5-1 defeat at the hands of Debenham.

U14’s – The U14's entertained a high flying Witnesham Wasps side looking to improve on the reverse fixture which resulted in a 5-0 home win. However with only 11 fit players it was always going to be difficult. The boys started very brightly and forced the away keeper into a couple of saves early on. As the half progressed Wasps knew that they were in for a tough game with the Seasiders battling for every ball. Despite dominating the half the whistle went for half time goalless.

The half time team talk was for much of the same and to test the keeper. With 10 minutes gone in the second half the boys got what they deserved when Nathan Gould latched onto a midfield pass to drive the ball past the diving keeper for 1-0. Unfortunately the away side equalized a few minutes later when a corner was headed in. This gave the away side some confidence and five minutes later they took the lead. The boys conceded a free kick on the left and despite a two man wall and three defenders in the box the ball somehow eluded everyone and went straight in. Great credit to the boys their heads didn't drop and the final few minutes were very frantic and they nearly got a much deserved point when a left foot effort from new signing Matty Bolt when just the wrong side of the post.

Final score 1-2. Another great performance with absolutely no reward for the boys as their bad luck continues. Surely the luck will start going their way soon, perhaps next week when the boys entertain Kesgrave

U15’s – Home to Claydon in a league encounter and were in fine form giving their opponents a good drubbing. Pett scored twice with Bullock, Algar and Dawson also getting on the score sheet in this comfortable 5-0 win. That’s now 29 points fro 15 games and 5th spot in the league for our U15’s

U16’s – At home to Witnesham in a league fixture and played some good football by all accounts. The boys league position belittles the football being played on the pitch and sooner or later results will reflect the performances. Alas a 4-1 defeat with Liam King scoring the consolation.

U16’s Girls – No reports to date.

20th February 2010

Many teams did not play due to frozen pitches

U11’s – No league game for the ‘A’ or ‘B’ sides so the boys grouped and played a 11 aside friendly against Trimley Red Devils. Another good run out as the boys prepare themselves for 11 a side football next season. In an entertaining game our youngsters put in a sterling performance and ran out 5-1 winners with Haskell scoring twice and the others from Gilder, Allum and Bull.

U13’s – On cup duty this week and our boys proudly flew the F&W flag in true style by thumping Sutton Heath 9-0. A well deserved hat trick from M. Bury, 2 goals from C. Kenworthy and 1 each from Connor, Chaplin, Sayers & Smith.

U14’s – The U14's travelled to Martlesham to play league leaders Martlesham Mustangs, a team that's scored 59 goals in 9 games.  Despite the boys putting in a much better performance three goals in each half ended in a 6-0 defeat. Their second in as many weeks. However if they continue to play with the same commitment points will surely come.
Next week the lads entertain Witnesham Wasps.

U16’s – Still on a high from last week’s cup victory, the boys played host to Brantham Athletic and true to current league form, the lads lost out 6-0

13th February 2010

U9’s – A must win game for Felixstowe to have any chance of staying up. We started with both Daniel and Hayden up front as scoring goals seems to be our problem so far this season. A good start with Hayden and Daniel combining well up front but Witnesham defended well. It was Witnesham who took the lead. A good turn and shot giving our keeper no chance, whereas in previous games we have rolled over and conceded defeat, this time our boys kept battling away. Finally and deservedly the equalizer came. A great run from Harry Mitchell set up Finn who coolly slotted the ball home. h/t 1-1

The second half got underway and we came out strong but couldn’t break down the Witnesham defense. Our second goal came from a brilliant free kick from Hayden who smashed the ball into the top corner. Witnesham came forward looking for the equaliser but the impressive back line of Thomas and Jacob held strong and Tom in goal making one very good save. All the boys gave 100% for the full 40 minutes and got there rewards with our first win of the season. Hopefully we can continue with this attitude. f/t 2-1

The ‘B’ team made a good start keeping possession well and getting the ball forward to Kieran who always looked dangerous running at defenders. The Witnesham keeper was having a great game and made a number of great saves before Isaac Scott burst down the left and finally put us 1-0 up. We continued to look dangerous going forward and the ever reliable Louis and Charlie at the back looking solid. It was a long ball from Charlie who put Kieran away who calmly slotted home the second important goal. h/t 2-0

The second half we continued to press and a 3rd goal came after a goalmouth scramble with Isaac Scott getting the final touch for his second of the game. With 10 minutes left a lapse in concentration by our defense let in Witnesham to pull a goal back. End to end stuff for the rest of the match with chances at both ends. Our stand in keeper Josh Butcher making a couple of good saves and also great hands from Witnesham corners. At the other end the Witnesham keeper continued to impress with a couple of top class saves. f/t 3-1

U10’s – Played host to Bacton and the ‘A’ side played out a very entertaining game resulting in a 0-0 draw. The ‘B’ side fared slightly better. Another entertaining match that ended in a 1-1 draw

U11’s – A team. Brantham kicked off the game & Felixstowe started the game well with Matthew Haskells hitting the side netting. It wasn't long before Felixstowe took the lead with a pass from Charlie Driver to Aaron Bull who ran along the wing & then shot & scored. By Half time Felixstowe were up 2-0 with an own goal from Brantham. Sam Gilder took a free kick which was hit over the bar & Bradley Bullock hit wide.

2nd half & there was some good football by both teams even though Brantham were 2-0 down they kept pressing & had their chances, Harry Webster for Felixstowe made some good saves. The third goal came from a pass from Bradley Bullock to Matthew Haskells who slotted the ball into the back of the net. Matthew Haskells then set up the 4th goal from a corner where Joe Allum tapped the ball in.
Final score Brantham 0 Felixstowe & Walton 4.

B team - Brantham took the lead within a matter of minutes, but Felixstowe fought back. There was some good play from Ollie Ruffles & Callum Burrows in midfield, both of them had chances of scoring. It finally came our way with a goal from Ollie Ruffles. A few minutes later & Callum Burrows had a shot which came off the post for Jake Woodley to hit wide. Ollie & Callum were passing the ball well, Harley Barkes hit the ball over the bar & Callum then hit the post. Ollie done a screamer of a shot that hit the bar. By half time Ollie Ruffles had scored his second goal taking Felixstowe into the lead 2-1. After half time Jake Woodley made a run, passing to Harley Barkes who tapped the ball in. Brantham then scored an own goal making it 4 for Felixstowe. Brantham then scored making the score 4-2, were then awarded a penalty taking the score to 4-3. Felixstowe battled back & built up the pressure. It was in the final minutes that Callum Burrows finally got his goal which he deserved.
Final score Brantham 3 Felixstowe &
Walton 5.

U12’s – Steve McDade's side continued their winning streak and this time Kirton Kestrels felt the wrath of the U12’s by suffering a 10-2 defeat. Hat tricks from Andrews, Peirson & Thrower and a single from Gifkin sealed the Kirton fate. The boys are top of the pile, 6 points clear of 2nd placed Claydon and with a game in hand. Their goal difference is now an incredible +42

U13’s – This week’s fixture against Woodbridge Town was postponed.

U14’s – The U14's made the short journey to play last season’s champions Trimley Red Devils. Three goals in each half by the home side resulted in a 6-0 defeat in a game that was totally dominated by the home side with the gulf in class to be seen by all. Unfortunately it doesn't get any easier for the boys when next week they travel to Martlesham to play current league leaders Martlesham Mustangs.

U15’s – Daniel Bowditch was the hero of the U15’s with a well taken goal to earn the boys a 1-1 draw against a strong Bramford United. An entertaining game by all accounts.

U16’s – Played away to Wetherden in a 6 pointer but sadly on the receiving end of a 3-0 defeat.

U16’s Girls – No reports to date.

6th February 2010

U9’s – The U9’s entertained Trimley Red Devils and the ‘A’ side started brightly in this game and had good possession and a couple of half chances in the first 10 minutes. After this Trimley settled into their game and were starting to look dangerous. Suddenly, all the belief that we could win this match drained away from our players and Trimley took the lead. A long range clearance cum shot somehow found the bottom corner, yet another soft goal conceded. The second half and we started poorly and it carried on that way with us looking like we had conceded defeat before even coming out for 2nd half. One bright move between Dan and Hayden forced the Trimley keeper into a great save, apart from that we were very poor. Well done to Finn and Jacob who never seemed to give up and worked hard til the end. f/t 0-1

The ‘B’ side had a very even start to the game and both sides looking dangerous and working hard. It was Felixstowe who broke the deadlock ,a Charlie Boggis corner was met at the far post by Charlie Smith who poked the ball home. Soon after the impressive Rory porter twisted and turned in the box and grabbed the crucial 2nd goal. We were now in control, Charlie and Louis looking strong at the back and our midfield 3 who were outstanding all game. Rory, Isaac and Charlie Smith working hard and passing the ball well. Kieran Butcher added a 3rd and Charlie smith smashed home a penalty before halftime to go in 4-0 up. The second half started well and Josh came on up front for Kieran and we continued to work hard and push forward. Charlie smith picked up the from a Trimley goal kick and drilled in a long range effort which the keeper couldn’t keep out. A hat-trick for smithy who was simply awesome all game. 5-0 up and the game won, Mathew and Kieran came on in place of Louis and Isaac. Both worked hard and the two combined for Kieran to poke home Felixstowe’s 6th. Man of the match a tough one to call with the whole team playing brilliantly but with his stunning hat-trick and work rate the MOM goes to Charlie Smith. f/t 6-0

U10’s – Played host to Brantham Athletic and the ‘A’ side, who played some good football through out, were narrowly beaten 1-0. The ‘B’ side unfortunately suffered  the same fate also losing 1-0

U11’s – Also entertained Brantham Athletic and Felixstowe started the game well with Matthew Haskells hitting the side netting. The 2nd half got underway & there was some good football by both teams even though Brantham were 2-0 down they kept pressing & had their chances. Harry Webster for Felixstowe made some good saves.

In the ‘B’ game, Brantham took the lead within a matter of minutes, but Felixstowe fought back. Final score Brantham 3 Felixstowe & Walton 5.

U12’s – Home to Boxford Rovers and continuing in the good vein of form, came away with a comfortable 4-0 victory. This puts the U12’s 6 points ahead of their nearest rivals with games in hand. Our boys look well on course for the title.

U13’s – Away to Shotley Rangers and by all accounts a very even game. Neither side giving too much away in defence and equaling each other out in attack. A 2-2 score line perhaps the right result.

U14’s – The U14's travelled to Melton to play their 2nd league fixture of 2010 against a strong Woodbridge side.

The fixture earlier in the season between the two teams resulted in a 8-1 win to Woodbridge so the boys knew that they would be in for a tough game, especially as only 11 fit players were available.

The match started with the home side starting strongly, however the lads were more than a match and played some good football themselves. The opening goal of the game came midway through the first half when a Woodbridge midfielder turned inside from the left and unleashed an unstoppable shot which the keeper could only watch as it hit the back of the net. All credit to the boys their heads didn't drop and got exactly what they deserved when the tireless striker Joe Coniam caused havoc chasing down a through ball. The ball fell to George Connor on the edge of the box who calmly side stepped the defender and advancing keeper to guide a shot into the empty net. HT 1-1.

The second half was end to end with both teams creating chances, however both defences looked strong and neither keepers were really worked. Either team towards the end could have won it with Joe Coniam coming close to scoring his second and keeper Tony Hitchen pulling off a great save at the other end. As the clock was running down it looked like the boys would collected their first point of the seaon, however their run of  bad luck continued when one minute into injury time Woodbridge snatched the winner when a low cross from the right was tapped in just inside the post through a crowded penalty area. FT 2-1.

A great team performance with every player giving 100%. If they continue to play with the same commitment then surely the points will start coming.
Next week the boys have another tough game away against last year’s champions Trimley Red Devils

U15’s – Played away to Tornados and were clearly off form as they suffered a 4-1 defeat.

U16’s – On league cup duty this week end away to Eye Saints FC and at last found a winning formula. Jason’s team were all smiles as they saw off their opponents with an emphatic 4-1 victory to take them into the next round of the competition.

U16’s Girls – No reports to date.

23rd January 2010

Youth teams match reports for 23rd January - there have been NO games since 12th December in all age groups

U9’s – ‘A’s V Kesgrave
No score in the first half of which there were few chances. A couple of long range efforts from kesgrave which were dealt with comfortably by our stand in keeper Tom Bury. The second half started well and while we were still asleep, the Kesgrave forward received the ball and slid it past tom for what proved to be the winning goal. We pushed for an equaliser but just couldn’t break down the impressive Kesgrave defense.

Man of the match went to stand in keeper Tom Bury, courageous diving at the forwards feet and whose handling and distribution was superb. Well done Tom. The ‘B’s were suffering the same fate as the ‘A’s and a H/T score line of 0-0 was the outcome. A good first half from Felixstowe, very much on top and looking very dangerous up front. Only excellent goalkeeping and defending keeping the scores level at half time.

The second half started the same way with our boys creating all the chances but not making any count. The goal finally came from defender Charlie Boggis who whipped in a corner, the ball was cleared back to Charlie who controlled and thumped in an unstoppable shot into the top corner. We continued to pepper the Kesgrave goal but great goalkeeping and about 4 goal line clearances kept us out. At the other end, good goalkeeping from Harrison after a frantic goalmouth scramble ensured we went home with the 3 points. Man of the match Charlie Boggis, great defending, great corners and a great goal. Well done Charlie.

U10’s – were away to Holbrook Hornets and the ‘A’s loat out by 1-0 and the ‘B’s were also beaten 5-3

U11’s – A team - Felixstowe & Walton started the game well taking the lead when Aaron Bull made a run down the right wing, crossed it over & saved by the goalie for Matthew Haskells to tap the ball in the net. However Hadleigh hit back & were awarded a free kick which hit the back of the neck. By half time Hadleigh were 2-1 up. 2nd half & Hadleigh played & passed the ball around with ease making the final score 8-1 to them.

U11's B team - The b team were losing 2-1 by half time, Ben Read scoring Felixstowe's goal. Harry Stanbridge & Connor Sorhaindo had some shots saved. 2nd half & Felixstowe thought back & played some great football, Harry Webster making some good saves for Felixstowe. Felixstowe kept pressing, Callum Burrows came close in scoring, Jake Woodley had a shot saved, also Ollie Ruffles. It was in the final seconds that Jake Woodley tapped the ball into the back of the net. A thoroughly deserved draw for Felixstowe.

U12’s – Picked up from where they left off in December and picked up another 3 well deserved l;eague points with a win over Rattlesden by 3-1. Curtis Andrews, Ollie Mackinlay and Jordan Dalziel were the U12’s marksmen. This result puts the boys firmly on top spot, 6 points ahead of their nearest riveal and with a game in hand.

U13’s – A great result for our boys this week, an emphatic 7-2 win over bottom placed Brantham Athletic

U14’s – The U14's started 2010 at home to a mid table Brantham side looking for their first points of the season.
The first half was an even affair with neither side creating many chances. HT 0-0.

The second half was more open with both teams tiring, however the boys grabbed the opening goal when sub Joe Welham hit a looping shot from 25yrds to beat the keeper. Unfortunately the boys couldn't hold on when a cross from the left came right across the goal for a striker to tap in. Then five minutes later a rasping shot from the edge of the box beat the diving keeper to make it 1-2. Despite creating a couple of chances late on the boys couldn't find that elusive equaliser which they thoroughly deserved. FT 1-2.
With no football since mid December the fitness really showed, but if the lads continue to show the level of commitment they showed today then surely the results will start going their way.
Next week the boys are away to fellow strugglers Sutton Heath.

U15’s – No game for the boys this week and in fact, the U15’s do not re-start their season till 6th February

U16’s – Coach Jason Gregory reluctantly had to forfeit the match against Ipswich Royals because of unavailability of his players. Most suffering from a lack of fitness and the U16’s could not muster 11 players. A home walk over awarded to Ipswich Royals.

U16’s Girls – No reports to date.

12th December 2009

U9’s – The boys played away to Debenham Youth this week and the ‘A’ team were sadly beaten 2-1. Our goal coming from Thomas Lygo.

The ‘B’ team fared much better winning by 4-0 with the goals credited to Porter, Smith Scott & Warren.

U10’s – No game for our U10’s this week

U11’s – Another week and no league game so another week to experiment with an 11 a-side match. This week the boys took on Sutton Heath U11’s and another fine victory by 7 goals to 1. These friendlies are placing the boys in good stead for the mover to full sided game next season.

U12’s – Played Whitton United Youth this week and were back to winning ways with a 3-2 victory. This puts the lads 5 points clear at the top of the table leading into the Christmas break. Goals from: Bance, Dalziel & Pearson.

U13’s – Played Ransomes away and a poor performance resulted in a 5-0 reverse.

U14’s – The U14's played their final game of 2009 away to Witnesham Wasps looking for their first points of the season.
The game started with the home side dominating, but the boys looked solid and didn't look like conceding. However the game turned after 20 minutes when the home side were awarded a penalty which they duly dispatched. Once again the heads went down and a barmy 15 minutes followed with the boys letting in another 4 goals for a half time score line of 0-5.

The second half saw a much better performance from the boys creating three great chances when 1 on 1 with the keeper, but they couldn't convert any of them. Defensively the boys looked much stronger and kept a clean sheet for the half. Full time 0-5. Another disappointing result and the team will be glad to see the back of 2009 and hope for better luck in 2010.

U15’s – Away to Claydon this week and a fine win over good opposition. The final outcome being 4-0 to the good with Luke Turner scoring a hat-rick and Ollie Wildig scoring the other.

U16’s – Played away to East Bergolt, this being the second week in succession against this well organized side. Once again the opposition too strong and this time were comfortable 11-0 winners.

U16’s Girls – No reports to date.

5th December 2009

U9’s – Home to Ransomes this week and the ‘A’ side finding our opponents difficult to break down. The boys were well beaten 4-1 with K. Butcher scoring for the Seasiders.

The ‘B’ side got the better of the Ransome ‘B’ side winning 12-0 K Butcher the Seasiders marksman.

U10’s – No game this week for the U10’s

U11’s – With the U11’s having no league game this week, the coach arranged an 11 a-side friendly in preparation of their full sided fixtures next season. The boys traveled to Martlesham and the exercise proved fruitful with a resounding 6-1 victory.

U12’s – A rare slip up for our intrepid league leaders this week. Facing strong opposition in the guise of Chantry Grasshoppers and entertaining game of youth football ensued. Neither side wanting to give too much away this excellent match finished 2 a piece with Connor Savage and Jordan Dalziel on the score sheet for the seasiders.

U13’s – Played away to Sproughton Youth and with only 10 players available put in a spirited performance. The boys were 2-1 to the good come half time and through sheer determination kept the opposition at slipping up just once to allow the hosts to sneak an equaliser. Final score 2-2 with goals from Mathew Bury and Ben Sayers.

U14’s – No game for the U 14’s this week

U15’s – Played host to Debenham in this league encounter running out a comfortable 7-2 winners. Goals from Algar, Barrett, Wildig and 2 each from Turner & Youngs.

U16’s – Hosted East Bergolt in another league encounter. Our opposition are riding high in the league and we knew we would be in for a tough time. We started brightly but could not find that finishing tough in  front of goal. As the game settled down it was Bergholt who started to stake a firm grip on possession. Their possession paid dividends and by half time we were 6-0 behind. Our usual never say die attitude continued in the second half. Our spirits were never dampened and we held our heads high with pride even though an inform Begholt notched another 3. Terry Dean did put a smile on our faces capitalizing on a rare defensive Bergholt error enabling him to score a consolation. Final score 9-1

U16’s Girls – No reports to date.

28th November 2009

U9’s –  Played Brantham Youth this week and the ‘A’ team found it to be a very difficult first half with wind against. The boys defended well but conceded 2 sloppy goals and were 2-0 behind by half time. The second half got under way and we put Brantham under a lot of pressure but couldn’t get past there impressive keeper. Finally a free kick from Craft flew in the roof of the net and the boys were back in the game. With the lads pushing forward for the equalizer, Brantham broke away and scored with last kick of the game to secure a 3-1 win.

The ‘B’ side put in another good strong battling performance. Porter put the boys into the lead with a fierce shot their keeper could not keep out and the score remained 1-0 at the interval. The second half was a closer encounter and we finally got a deserved second, Read smashing in from close range to give the boys a 2-0 advantage. End to end stuff but no further goals.

U10’s – For only the second time this season the U10’s were at Dellwood, with Martlesham the visitors. Both respective A and B teams were close to the top of their leagues so close games were expected. The A team struggled again to get going and made heavy work of creating chances, despite having the majority of the play. Matthew Tetley came off the bench to score what turned out to be our only goal, with Martlesham equalising with a shot which deflected in off Ieuan Turner. Our defence held off the visitors until the end to register yet another draw, with Adam making several saves which earned him the Man of the Match award.

The B’s also seemed to struggle to get going this week, with several of the players lacking their usual spark. As with the A team we could not turn possession into clear chances, and when they did it never quite dropped right. Ben Barkes pulled off some great saves again as both teams struggled to gain the upper hand. When the score ended with another draw, 2-2 with Luke Dew scoring both, the feeling was that although not at their best it was two points dropped. Hayden Dadswell earned the Man of the Match with another consistent and energetic performance.

U11’s – The A team started off very strong in the first half & had many chances to put away, Aaron Bull crossed the ball from the right wing & hit the post, Charlie Driver had a shot saved & Sam Gilder headed the ball wide from an Aaron Bull corner. The game stayed 0-0 at half time but in the 2nd half Witnesham Wasps hit back scoring five goals in the 2nd half. Felixstowe tried to fight back & Bradley Bullock had a shot saved. In the dying minutes of the game Joe Allum headed the ball straight at the goalie, everyone thought it was over the line. Felixstowe were very unlucky, as if they had played like they did in the first half, the score may have been a different story.  Final score Felixstowe & Walton 0 Witnesham Wasps 5.

The B Team opposition scored within the first five minutes of the game, but the B team played some impressive football & their fighting spirit kept them going. Harley Barkes had the chance to equalise & Jacob Woodley was doing some good running in midfield. Eddie Marshall was strong at the back & moved the ball & passed to midfield. Felixstowe could have easily been 3-1 up at half time. Witnesham put the pressure on in the 2nd half & also had many an opportunity to score quite a few. John Kelly hit the ball wide from a cross from Callum Burrows.
It was about ten minutes from end & Felixstowe were awarded a penalty which allowed Ollie Rufffles to slot home.
A good game for the B team to hold Witnesham to a final 1-1 draw

U12’s – Played Claydon Youth and as true to form, put another impressive performance to run out worthy winners 7-2. McDade, Bance, Thrower and 4 from  Damien Pearson completed the rout.

U13’s – Played away to Martlesham Youth Meteors in a league encounter and came away with a 1-1 draw.

U14’s – The U14's resumed their league campaign away to fellow strugglers Kesgrave Kestrels still looking for their first league point of the season.
Despite having most of the possession the boys found themselves 2-0 down at the break thanks to speculative efforts from the home side. The second half was a closer affair as the boys found themselves playing against an ever stronger wind. Unfortunately it was the home side that scored again midway through the half to kill the game.
Final score 0-3. Another disappointing result which leaves the boys firmly rooted at the bottom of the table.

U15’s – Home to Ipswich Athletic and recorded a 3-2 win. The goals coming from Luke Turner, Lee Dawson and Jordan Youngs

U16’s – Away to Witnesham Wasps and the boys disappointing run continued with a 7-3 reverse. Never a side to bemoan their performances and as usual gave their all. Kenny Doyle gave the lads hope with a well taken strike on 17 minutes. However this moment of comfort dwindled by half time as Witnesham went in 3-1 to the good. An inspired 2nd half performance with the lads scoring twice more through Liam King and Lewis Maddison but the opposition proved too strong and who managed to score another four times.

U16’s Girls – No reports to date.

21st November 2009

U12’s – Played hosts to Somersham in a league cup match and continued in their winning ways. The boys ran out clear winners in this 11-0 rout with a collection of the boys getting on the score sheet. McDade, Andrew, Harold, Mackinlay and Thrower notching two apiece and Wilson taking the 11th. A great team performance and our young lions looking to achieve a league and cup double.

U13’s – No league or cup fixture for the U13’s so a friendly against the Felixstowe Hawks U13’s was arranged. A comfortable win for our boys 8-0 with a hatrick from M Bury and 2 from J White. Chaplin, Kenworthy and Sayers were the other marksmen.

U15’s – The U15’s were on Cup duty this week away to Kirton Kestrels and secured a place in the next round with a 4-2 victory. Goals coming from Dawson, Turner, Wildig & Youngs.

U16’s – The disappointing season for the U16’s continued with another defeat this week at the hands of Sproughton in the Cup. With lads giving 110% as usual, they found their opponents too strong and ended up the wrong side of a 4-1 score line. The consolation coming from M. Peters

14th November

U10’s – A very difficult day weather-wise saw our A team knocked out of the cup 5-0 by Ipswich Athletic at Bourne Vale.  In appalling conditions, and with a couple of regulars missing through illness, the boys never really got going and rarely threatened to pose a danger to the oppositions goal. MoM was Matthew Mayes who worked hard to hold the ball up and link with his team although usually out-numbered.

The B team were also missing a couple of their number, and having stood in the worst of the weather supporting the A team, were looking cold, soaked and fed-up before they started. Once underway it was apparent that despite being up against a team from a higher division, they were in with a chance of causing an upset.
We scored through Kian Smith-Howell with about 8 mins to go, only for Athletic to equalize close to the end of normal time. Into extra time we went with the wind picking up strength all the time, again we looked like the more likely to score, but in the second 5 minute period they broke away and scored. With time running out, Kian broke through one-on-one with the keeper and was tripped by the recovering defender, Penalty. He picked himself up and slotted it away nicely. The game was played out with both missing last gasp chances to snatch it, so we moved to penalties. All those who volunteered stepped up and hit the target, scoring a 4-2 victory. Well done.
MoM Luke Dew for a combative display in the centre of midfield.

U11’s – Fixture for 14/11 was postponed because of inclement weather.

U12’s – No game for U12’s on 14/11.

U13’s – Played away to Martlesham Youth Meteors in a league encounter and came away with a 2-2 draw.

U14’s – The lads entertained a Bildeston side flying high in Division 2. All the games between the sides have always been tight scorelines and this game was no exception.
The game started with the home side with a strong winds to their backs, but despite totally dominating the game failed to work the goalkeeper.
The only exception was when Byron Melton struck a superb 30yrd freekick only to find it smash against the crossbar. The rebound was skillfully volleyed into the back of the net by Sam Barber only to be denied by the linesman flag for offside. HT 0-0.

The second half was a more even affair and despite playing the half against the wind looked the better side. With 10 minutes left, came the sucker punch when the smallest player on the pitch beat two defenders on the right and crossed for the opposing striker to score from a couple of yards.
Despite their domination the home side still couldn't test the keeper.  Final score 0-1.

The boys played really well, but must learn that to win games you have to put the ball into the back of the net. Next week the boys have a friendly against Kesgrave Town.

U15’s – On 7th November the lads were away to Whitton United Youth and were sadly beaten 2-0. Then on 8th November the boys traveled to Hadliegh in a Suffolk County FA minor cup match and were knocked out of the competition by 3-1. The consolation coming from Luke Turner. On 14th November the boys played host to Bacton Youth and were back to winning ways with a triumphant 7-0 win. The U15’s marksmen were Algar, Youngs and Turner with two goals each and one from Barratt.

U16’s – No game for the U16’s on 7th November but were on league cup duty on 14th. Played away to Wetherden & Haughley and were knocked out of the competition losing  2-1. Our goal coming from young L Doyle.

U16’s Girls – No reports to date.

7th November

U8’s –  No games for the U8’s since 17/10

U9’s –  Since 17/10 the U9’s have played a friendly against Kesgrave (24/10) and a league game against Witnesham Wasps (07/11) . The ‘A’ side won 2-1 on 24/10 with goals from Haydn Crafty and a Kesgrave OG and the ‘B’ side managed a 1-1 draw with the seasiders goal coming from Keiron Butcher. The Witnesham game was better fare as the ‘A’s came away with a 2-0 victory (Craft & Poxon the scorers) and the ‘B’s won 3-0 (King, Boggis & Porter the goal getters)

U10’s – No games for the U10’s since 17/10 up to 31/10. Back on league duty on 7/11 with an away game at Whitton United. The ‘A’ side drawing 2 apiece and the ‘B’ side winning 4-2. (Scorers not available at this time)

U11’s – Played Kesgrave Kestrels on 7/11 (no game since 17/10) and the ‘A’ side won 4-1 and the ‘B’side won 3-1 (scorer details not available)

U12’s – A friendly on 31/10 against Wickham Market and a 2-1 win. Both goals from Gorgi Thrower. Then on 07/11 back to league duty and another comfortable 4-1 victory. Goals this time coming from Moss, Webster, Andrews & Mackinlay. The U12’s are now unbeaten in 6 and top their respective league.

U13’s – Woodbridge Town was the last outing on 07/11 for our U13’s since 17/10 and on the wrong end of a 5-2 defeat. Seasiders goals coming from J Smith & J White.

U14’s – The U14's entertained title contenders Martlesham Mustangs after a 2 week break. After a competitive start the flood gates opened after 20 minutes when the home side conceded 4 quick goals. Another goal before the break made the half time score 0-5. The second half was a formality with the away side scoring a further 3 goals for a final score of 0-8. The score line reflected the difference in class between the two sides and the result still leaves the boys pointless. Another home game next week when the boys entertain Bildeston in the cup.

U15’s – 0n 24/10 the U15’s played a friendly against Bramford United and were victorious by 2 goals to 1. Our marksmen were Wildig and Youngs. Then, on 07/11 our boys took on Whitton United in a league match but sadly were beaten 2-0

U16’s – Only game since 17/10 was a league encounter against Brantham Athletic on 31/10 (no game on 07/11). Try as hard as they might, the U16’s only managed a consolation goal through K.Doyle in a 7-1 against score line.

U16’s Girls – No reports to date.

17th October

U8’s –   A & B sides. Both teams are yet to be beaten with the ‘A’ side scoring 38 goals and conceding only once and the ‘B’ side scoring 59 and conceding 3 times to date. Their latest outing was against Trimley Red Devils with the ‘A’ side winning 9-0 and the ‘B’ side winning 8-0

U9’s –   Away to a very strong Framlingham side and the ‘A’ side soon realized that they were in for a difficult time. The boys started slowly and Framlingham took full advantage to score 3 goals before the break. Our boys picked up a little in the second period and made a game of it. Kieran Butcher pulled a goal back and soon after hand another effort cleared off the line. However, Fram nicked to late goals to seas a 5-1 win.
The ‘B’ side fared little better although managed to keep on terms for much of the game only a late decider by Fram meant our boys being on the wrong end of a 3-2 result with Kieran Butcher and Rory Porter being the ’B’ boys marksmen.

(Thanks to Des Fisher)

U10’s – Two more excellent team performances from the U10’s this week against their local rivals. Windy conditions played their part in keeping the games exiting and our boys (and girl) benefited from trying to play the ball around on the floor.

The A team started a little slowly again this week, and found it hard to make much headway. Both teams had chances to create chances but could not provide the final pass. As the game settled, ‘Maz’ Mayes began to link well with Tom Boggis and Luke Barnes to look like breaking the deadlock with Kieran Bowdidge working hard to retrieve the ball in the middle. After 15 minutes, Luke went past his marker and delivered a cross which found its way through to Tom Boggis at the back post to fire home. The lead was held until half time, after which Lewis Hutchings gave a determined performance in midfield, and the whole team held firm until the end to earn a well deserved, if a little nervous at the end, three points.
A team man of the match – Matthew Mayes for an excellent all round game in holding the ball up and linking with the rest of the team.
Scorer – Tom Boggis

The B’s started in great style with some lovely passing and moving between the front four of Kian, Sam, Luke and Hayden to create numerous chances. Luke and Sam were providing some good width and Hayden was finding some lovely passes around the edge of the box. By half time Kian had completed another hat-trick with some great finishing and Luke Dew had snatched a forth. Early in the second half Luke popped up with a front post header to make the score 5 – 0. The rest of the game continued with everyone involved showing good movement and attempting to play some good football on the floor, despite being hemmed in at times by the strengthening wind. The final whistle arrived with no further scoring and clean sheet maintained.

B team man of the match – Hayden Dadswell for work rate and some great passing and link play to create chances for all the front players. Scorers – Kian 3, Luke Dew 2

U11’s –. A team: The match was pretty equal throughout the game with both teams having a lot of chances. In the first half Aaron Bull had a crack at goal for it to be saved & cleared over the bar. A corner which Aaron took was headed over the bar by Sam Gilder & Charlie Driver was unlucky not to score.
Half time it was 0-0. A few more chances came Bradley Bullock had a shot saved, along with a free kick taken by Sam Gilder saved. It was looking to be a final score of 0-0 until Woodbridge had a corner which was headed in. This game thoroughly deserved a draw. Ollie Rose made some fantastic saves in goal.  Final score Felixstowe 0 Woodbridge 1.

B team: Felixstowe started well with them putting the pressure on Woodbridge, Felixstowe took the lead with a goal from Harley Barkes who had numerous chances himself previous to his goal. Harry Stanbridge was outstanding in defence with some good runs in midfield. It looked like it was going to be a win for Felixstowe. 2nd half Ollie Ruffles had a good run which was saved, Woodbridge equalized in the 2nd half, but Felixstowe were unlucky & let the game slip away, Woodbridge hit back making the final score Felixstowe 1 Woodbridge 2.

U12’s – Away to Holbrook Hornets and an emphatic 9-1 victory. The lads dominated play and Holbrook were never in it. Goals from Damien Pearson (2), Jordan Dalziel (2), Freddie McDade, Matty Harrold, Charlie Bance, Ollie Mackinlay and Georgi Thrower.

U13’s – No game for the U13’s this week

U14’s – Entertained newly promoted side Martlesham Hurricanes looking for their first points of the season. Unfortunately the boys found themselves 1 down within the first minute. All credit to the boys they didn't let the disappointment get to them and started to play some very neat passing football. Despite the away side looking dangerous on the attack the scores were level midway through the half when a slide rule pass from George Connor was met by striker Johnny Brimicombe to fire home for his first for the club. However Martlesham retook the lead when a speculative shot 25 yards out flew into the roof of the net. HT 1-2.

With only one change made at half time the boys continued to play some great football and 10 minutes into the half found themselves once again level. Some good work from Byron Melton & Nathan Gould on the left gave Johnny another opportunity on goal which he calmly converted for his second of the game. The game was end to end with chances being created either end, unfortunately a lapse 5 minutes midway through the half saw the Hurricanes score twice. Despite a late onslaught the boys were unable to score again. Final score 2-4.

Despite the scoreline it was a much better performance with the boys playing arguably their best football of the season. If they continue to play like this the results will come their way. Some great performances throughout the team with striker Johnny Brimicombe and goalkeeper Tony Hitchen both being exceptional.

The boys now have a two week break before entertaining league leaders Martlesham Mustangs.

U15’s -  Travelled to Saxmundham for a league encounter and sadly came away with nil points. Evenly matched game with both sides creating chances. However, it was Saxmundham who proved the better of the two winning 2-1. The seasiders goal coming from Luke Turner

U16’s – Home to Whitton United and the lads found their opposition a handful. Kieran Sowter was in top form trying to create some openings for the boys but it was Whitton finishing the stronger. A goal from Kenny Doyle was not enough as our guests ran out comfortable 4-1 winners

U16’s Girls – No reports to date.

10th October

U8’s –   A & B sides. No report issued to date

U9’s –   No game for our U9’s this week end

U10’s – U10’s Fairing well thus far this season. A great result against Sizewell this week end  with the ‘A’ side recording  a 3-0 win and the ‘B’ side winning 4-3.

In the ‘A’ side Tom Boggis, Matt (Maz) Mayes and Luke Barns linked well to create numerous chances with some great movement and passes. It was Barns who netted the 1st goal with Maz Mayes scoring a second to go in at half time 2-0 to the good.  The second period was of similar style with our boys defense having a quiet morning. Kian Smith-Howell, making his ‘A’ team debut was unlucky on a few occasions not to get his name on the score sheet but it was Matt Tetley who rounded off the scoring and a good team effort.
The ‘B’ side were part of a high scoring encounter as each side had a fair share of the spoils. Smith-Howlett & Sam Clarkeson netting in the 1st period only for Sizewell to equal things before the half time whistle. Ben Barkes was in fine form between the posts keeping the Sizewell attack at bay. Hayden Dadswell put the boys noses in front before yet another equalizer. This was all entertaining stuff by the youngsters and K
ieran Beckett capped a great team performance with a cool finish to give the U10’s a 4-3 victory and 3 well earned points.

U11’s –. Away to St. Johns, the A team played some good football throughout the game & had many chances.  In the first half Charlie Driver had a header saved, Sam Gilder hit wide from a cross from Aaron Bull. Bradley Bullock hit over the bar.
In the 2nd half Joe Allum probably came closest to score but was brought down by one of the defenders,  which gave Felixstowe a free kick but no luck. Felixstowe were unlucky
not to get a goal & controlled the majority of the game. Final score 0-0.

The B team was similar to the A teams with plenty of chances from Felixstowe, Harry Stanbridge was strong in midfield & had a good run during the first half. Some good passing from the team. Felixstowe came close where Connor Sorhaindo took the corners & most of the team had a chance to score, but was not to be. Harley Barkes had a run where he shot & the goalie saved to then return back to Harley who then hit the bar. Eddie Marshall had a shot saved & Connor hit the post just before half time. In the second half St Johns piled on the pressure & a corner from them allowed them to score with a header in from one of their defenders. Final score 1-0 to St Johns

U12’s –. No report this week.

U13’s – U13’s hosted Martlesham Youth at Langley Ave and were beaten by 5 goals to 3. The Seasiders marksmen being Connor Ansell, Charlie Kenworthy and Jordan White

U14’s – Home to Sutton Heath at Langley Ave and were narrowly beaten 3-2. A must win game for both sides as to date neither had registered a league point. Our boys created numerous chances in the early stages but the goals appeared elusive. Seemingly our boys were still in bed when it came to defensive duties and Sutton proved how to take scoring opportunities by netting 3 times before the interval.
The second half was a better fare from our boys and they dominated the second period. Nathan Gould had 4 guilt edge chances but could not make them count. After a little composure the seasiders eventually got their just rewards when Jack Boggis rifled in from six yards. Now we heaped pressure on the Sutton defense in search of a second and the pressure paid off when Nathan Gould cleverly worked his way into the Sutton penalty area and squared for Lewis Stiff to tap in his first goal of the season. In a last few frantic minutes our boys through everything at the Sutton defense but to no avail and were disappointed to walk away with nil points still thus far.

U15’s -  Travelled to Hundon (Haverhill) for a Minor Cup fixture and were struggling for team numbers, only 11 players available so no substitutes. The 11 Seasiders did the club proud by turning in an incredible performance against a fare opposition. 13 goals (yes thirteen) to 1 with 8 of the 10 outfield players getting on the score sheet. Hundon Hawks are a reasonable side apparently but on this particular morning probably wished they stayed at home and watched CBEEBIES!!

Luke Turner getting a hatrick, Matt Barrett, Ben Bullock and Lee Dawson with 2 goals each and Hunter Elliston, Ben Hunt Ollie Wildig and Jordan Youngs completing the tally.

U16’s – Played away to Woodbridge Town and were sadly beaten 3-0. Jason tried to motivate things with a team change midway through the 1st half with further changes later in the game. All to no avail as Wood bridge finished the stronger.

U16’s Girls – No reports to date.

3rd October

U8’s –   A & B sides. No report issued to date

U9’s –   No league encounter this week so a friendly organized against Mendlesham. The A side had a good run out and recorded a 3-0 win with Kieran Butcher on the score sheet twice and Tom Lygo notching the other. The B side tried to emulate their A side colleagues but alas were not able to do so, losing 1-0

U10’s – A & B sides. No reports issued to date

U11’s – Also with no league fixture this week the U11’s entertained Woodbridge in a Friendly and unfortunately were on the wrong end of a 2-0 score line.

U12’s – The U12’s cup fixture was cancelled and a hasty friendly arranged. Details of the match to follow.

U13’s – Were away to Kesgrave Town this week and went down by 3-1 with the seasiders consolation coming from D. Finegan

U14’s – Better fare for our U14’s this week with a resounding victory over Kesgrave Kestrels (Town). Joe Coniam being the hero with 2 goals and a gift of an own goal from our opponents

U15’s -  Played host to Brantham Athletic and recorded their 3rd league win in 5 and a good performance on the back of last week’s poor result. A 3-1 victory with the goal getters being Bowditch, Wildig & Youngs

U16’s -  No game for the U16’s this week as their fixture was postponed.

U16’s Girls – No reports to date.

September 2009

September has come and gone and there was a bag of mixed fortunes for our academy kids.

The Under 9’s A side have had a reasonable start taking two draws and one defeat from their opening 3 fixtures. The Under 9’s B team struggled in their opening two games but had an emphatic 7-0 win last time out with young Kieron Butcher bagging 4 of the 7 goals.

The Under 11’s A side also managed 1 win in 3 with Aaron Bull scoring 4 of the 5 goals in a 5-3 win. The U 11’s B side equally have managed 1 win in 3 with a comfortable 5-1 win in their last outing.

The U12’s have fared much better with 3 wins in 3, scoring a healthy 13 goals with just 4 against

The U13’s have taken 3 points from 12 in their opening 4 fixtures, a tidy 6-0 win over Brantham. There are better things to come from these boys I am sure.

The U14’s have won one of their opening 3 fixtures losing 1-0 and 8-0 before notching up a 3-0 win over Kesgrave Kestrels (Town). Perhaps the tide has turned for our U14 boys and let’s see what fortunes October can bring.

The U15’s have had an excellent start to the 09/10 campaign. 3 wins and a draw from the opening 5 fixtures. Luke Turner leads the goal scoring chart with 3 goals followed by Ollie Wilding 2, Mathew Barrett 2, and Jordan Youngs 2.

The U16’s have 2 draws, 1 win and 1 defeat in their opening fixtures as they look to consolidate for a high finish in their final season at youth level.
