Saturday 30th April 2011 – Ridgeons league Premier Division
 Histon Res.  0 – 0
Felixstowe & Walton United
The home side gained the point they required to end the season off the bottom of the table. Some goal-less draws are far from being boring encounters, but this unfortunately was not one of them with one corner gained by each side in the first half and neither keeper tested.
Words at the interval increased the tempo with Jamie Chamberlain in the home goal producing two important saves to first deny Allicion Blake and then getting finger tips to Matt Mackenzie’s strike to force a corner mid-way through the second half. Jones saved from Jack Sessions to block the Stutes best effort on goal 15 minutes from time.  With five minutes remaining and the ball out for a goal-kick Blake and
Warren had a difference of opinion which saw the Felixstowe forward dismissed and Warren shown yellow which was disappointing after a game of few incidents.

Stutes: Jamie Chamberlain, Callum Stewart, Seb Baxter, Courtney warren, Kenny Smith (Dan Wells 48), Scott Everdell, Simon Unwin, Eugene Libertucci, Jack Sessions, Tom Wright (Jake Twinn 63), Charles Day (Carlow Lawrence 45).
Unused : Lewis McDonald.

Monday 25th April 2011 – Ridgeons league Premier Division

Felixstowe & Walton United  1 - 2  Woodbridge Town  (0-2)
Two first half goals from Ben Seaman earned the Woodpeckers maximum points from the local derby at Dellwood Avenue. A good sized Bank Holiday crowd of 144 saw the Seasiders gain momentum after the break, following a triple substitution, but Glen Snell’s 30 yard injury time goal came too late for a grandstand finish.
On a sunny and warm afternoon both sides passed the ball well but it was the visitors who made the early running with Liam Jones producing a good save to palm Churchyard’s goal bound strike onto the bar and away for a corner and on the quarter hour Trevivian struck a
Felixstowe post following a poor defensive clearance. The opening goal came in the 20th minute with Jones deceived by the bounce from Ben Seaman’s ball into the area and with the ball in the net the Assistants flag was overruled and the goal awarded. The Woodpeckers continued to dominate and ten minutes from the interval Ben Seaman scored his second to double the lead, squeezing the ball under Jones at the near post from close range.
A good spell for the Seasiders before the break with Matthews going close, Henry seeing a shot blocked and Berry clearing off the line from Blake following a corner.
A triple substitution for the Seasiders at half-time saw them impress after the restart with Mackenzie, Rae and Jordan going close and Harrison produced a diving save to deny Mackenzie. A home goal would have set up an exciting finish but it was
Woodbridge substitute Baldock who was closest to finding the net striking a Felixstowe post with his first touch of the ball. With time running down Glen Snell produced the goal of the game with a stunning 30 yard volley which gave Harrison no chance.
Felixstowe pushed everyone forward for the final free-kick of the game but Harrison saved low from Davis’ header to confirm the win at the final whistle for Woodbridge Town.

Seasiders: Liam Jones, Tommy Smith, Matt Ryland, Jay Denniss (Ashley Phillips 45), Miles Powell, Dan Davis, Jordan Matthews, Tom Agricole  (Sean Rea 45), Allicion Blake, Matt Mackenzie, Rhys Henry (Glenn Snell 45).

Saturday 23rd April 2011 – Ridgeons league Premier Division
 Norwich United  4 - 0
Felixstowe & Walton United  (1-0)
A comfortable win for the home side on a hot afternoon at Plantation Park. The Seasiders worked hard but could find no way past the Planters organised defence with a single corner on 58 minutes followed by a shot over the home bar from Henry the only threat on Nower’s goal with the home keeper having a quiet afternoon.
Norwich’s first corner of the game on nine minutes resulted in the opening goal with Harvey-Cooper’s flag kick headed on by Foster and Claydon before the ball ran to Nathan Clarke who fired home from ten yards. Ryland and Davis both cleared off the line as the home side threatened to increase their lead before the break but the visitors defended well to prevent any addition.
Foster and King shot wide of the visitors goal after the restart and the Seasiders pressed for an equaliser gaining a corner which was taken short by Ryland to Rae his pass finding Henry on the edge of the area, but his shot failed to trouble Nower in the home goal.
Norwich earned successive corners with Matt Ryland clearing off the goal-line to deny Claydon before
Andy Claydon found space to head home Key’s cross on 67 minutes to double the lead. Ten minutes from time Ross King slid home the third from 12 yards following  a free kick, for which Rea saw yellow, and with four minutes to go King turned provider for Andy Claydon to take the ball in his stride and run on to hammer home the fourth.

Tuesday 19th April 2011 – Ridgeons league Premier Division
Dereham Town
  3 - 0  Felixstowe & Walton United  (2-0)
The Magpies claimed second spot in the table with a comfortable win at Aldiss Park this evening after the Seasiders had the better of the opening half hour but failed to convert chances created.
With Andrade in for Hampson, the only change from Saturday’s line up, the Seasiders moved the ball at pace winning their first corner inside 20 seconds and Henry tested
Marshall in the home goal as they maintained a high tempo. Powell and Blake opened the home defence on 14 minutes with Henry firing the first clear opening of the game over Marshall’s cross-bar. Andrade went close and Henry had a shot blocked before Dereham won their first corner on 24 minutes and the home side steadily increased pressure on the Felixstowe goal. Jones saved well at his right hand post to deny Kelleher from close range on the half hour but after a Felixstowe attack broke down an excellent through ball created space for Seamus Kelleher to pick his spot and drill the ball past Jones for the opener on 32 minutes. Forced onto the back foot after a good start the Seasiders needed the half time whistle but two minutes from the interval a deep free kick into the area was not cleared and when the ball fell to Jay Eastoe-Smith  he fired home to double the lead.
The Seasiders went in search of a reply after the break with Henry, Blake and Andrade seeing plenty of the ball but Marshall was not tested and on 77 minutes the result was confirmed when Adam Smith made good contact on the edge of the area to beat Jones to his left and take the magpies to 2nd in the table.

Magpies: Shaun Marshall, Aaron Burt, Lewis Wallace, Jay Eastoe-Smith, Gary Starling, Daniel Beaumont, Craig Bussens, Adam Smith Sam Pledger 84), Kyle Downes (Ian Morgan 55), Adam Gusterson, Seamus Kelleher (Zak Baker 80).

Saturday 16th April 2011 – Ridgeons league Premier Division

Felixstowe & Walton United  2 - 2  Walsham le Willows   (1-0)
The Seasiders gained the point they required to guarantee Premier Division football next season but will be disappointed not to have secured all three points having led by two Allicion Blake goals before two penalties converted by Andrew Cusack earned the visitors a share of the spoils.
’Football in the Community Day’ at Dellwood Avenue attracted an attendance of 244 and after Allicion Blake fired home on seven minutes the home side controlled the game without looking as if they would to add to the lead until close to half time when McAnally produced a sharp save to deny Henry. ‘Willows best attack of the half saw Hampson clear Cusack’s header off the line with the Seasiders good value for their interval lead.
Six minutes after the restart Blake scored his second with a well executed volley from Henry’s excellently flighted cross from the right. A spell of Walsham pressure produced a reply when Ross was brought down in the area and Andrew Cusack stepped up to fire the ball wide of Jones’ outstretched left hand on 54 minutes.
Felixstowe pushed forwarded with Andrade finding the side netting, McAnally saving well with his legs to deny Rea and Blake firing wide when well placed. The home side were to rue the missed chances when Tatham went down in the area with six minutes remaining and Cusack coolly despatched his second penalty kick into the same place as the first.  Johnson placed a shot from distance over the Felixstowe bar and both Henry and Andrade went close for the Seasiders but at the final whistle it was all square with both sides looking forward to Premier Division football next season.

Seasiders: Liam Jones, Arran Sheppard, Matt Ryland, Jay Denniss (Sean Rea 72), Miles Powell, Dan Davis, Joe Bloomfield, Ben Garnham, Allicion Blake, Rhys Henry, Adam Hampson (Karl Andrade 39).
Unused : Glenn Snell, Tom Agricole, George McCallum.

Tuesday 12th April 2011 – Ridgeons league Premier Division

Felixstowe & Walton United  6 – 2  Debenham LC   (2-0)
The Seasiders require just one point from their remaining five fixtures to mathematically be certain of Premier division football next season after a comfortable win over relegation threatened Debenham LC.
Two goals from Matt Mackenzie inside the opening 20 minutes set the home side on their way, the first after robbing a defender and placing the ball wide of Hinton’s left hand and the second taken in his stride from Henry’s cross from the right to rifle the ball home. Jopling headed wide from Cussons’ corner kick and Gedny had two shots blocked as the visitors had a good spell but it was the home side who finished the half strongly with Roland-Hinton in the Hornets’ goal making three good saves to deny Mackenzie and Henry twice before the half time whistle.
The Seasiders doubled their lead with two goals in a minute just after the hour mark, Allicion Blake producing a sensational dipping volley from 30 yards with Reece Henry scoring the fourth within seconds of the restart. With ten minutes remaining Shaun French squeezed the ball home from a tight angle to reduce the deficit but within a minute the four goal lead was re-gained as Jordan Matthews volleyed home from 12 yards. Glenn Snell added the sixth placing the ball over Roland-Hinton from the edge of the area before Stuart Jopling scored the second Hornets’ goal in injury time.

Seasiders: Liam Jones, Arran Sheppard, Matt Ryland, Joe Bloomfield, Miles Powell, Dan Davis, Jordan Matthews, Ben Garnham (Sean Rea 66), Allicion Blake, Matt Mackenzie (Karl Andrade 55), Rhys Henry (Glenn Snell 73).

Saturday 9th April 2011 – Ridgeons league Premier Division
Wisbech Town  1 -1
Felixstowe & Walton United  (0-1)
The Seasider’s first visit to the Fenmen’s new home ‘The Tom Wood’s Beer Fenland Stadium’ ended in the same result as the drawn game between the two sides at Dellwood Avenue last month and Felixstowe edging further away from the threat of relegation. A lovely warm afternoon and a good sized crowd were entertained by an open game which saw Matt Mackenzie open the scoring on 34 minutes for the Seasiders and Simon Flanz equalising for the Fenmen on the hour to share the points.
The home side made an impressive start to the game earning a number of corners in the opening minutes and the visitors forced to defend in numbers. On ten minutes Hampson cleared Reeve’s shot off the line following a corner and when the ball was returned Jones saved well at his right hand post at the expense of another corner. Steadily
Felixstowe brought their passing game into play and increased the pressure on the home defence. Henry’s shot was well saved on 27 minutes by Jordan following good link up play by Blake and Hampson and on 34 minutes Matt Mackenzie broke the deadlock with a well taken strike under Jordan after Matthews had won the ball in midfield and Hampson had found the young Felixstowe striker with a defence splitting pass.
The visiting back four of Sheppard, Ryland, Powell and Davis defend well to see the lead held to the interval.
Reed struck a
Felixstowe post after the restart as Wisbech pressed for the equaliser but Felixstowe looked dangerous on the break with Jordan quickly off his line to deny Hampson at the expense of a corner as the game flowed. On the hour it was all-square when the ball fell to Simon Flanz on the edge of the Felixstowe with the Wisbech full-back hitting the ball sweetly on the volley to give Jones little chance despite getting hands to the ball. Furnell’s header found the Felixstowe cross-bar from Reed’s corner and Jordan was behind Sheppard’s shot as both sides went for the win. Both keepers were kept busy with Jones making a flying save to his right to save from Jimson and home keeper Jordan producing three good saves to deny Matthews, Mackenzie and Henry as Felixstowe finished the match strongly.

The Fenmen: Lea Jordan, Simon Flanz, Stacy Cartwright (Oliver Gale 45), John Fairweather, Anthony Reeve, Callum Reed, Paul Jones, Lewis Thompson, Andrew Furnell (Sam Murphy 86), Ashley Stevens (Darren Jimson 72), Adam Weston.

Tuesday 5th April 2011 – Ridgeons league Premier Division

Felixstowe & Walton United  0 - 1  Mildenhall Town  (0-1)
John Sands
met Wilkinson’s corner kick on 21 minutes to head home the only goal of the game and end the Seasiders five match unbeaten run. Snell and Andrade replaced Mackenzie, on Suffolk duty, and the ill Henry in attack with Danny Crump pulling on the gloves for the home side and making a flying save to deny Wood as the visitors had the better of the first half. Matthews was closest for the Seasiders placing the ball over the Hall crossbar from close range.
Felixstowe pressed for an equaliser after the break but despite a good share of possession failed to find a cutting edge. Deep into injury time Felixstowe earned a free kick and with everyone including Crump in the Hall area the ball fell to Davis with his first time shot well held by Pope to earn maximum points for the visitors.

Seasiders: Danny Crump, Arran Sheppard, Matt Ryland, Joe Bloomfield, Miles Powell, Dan Davis, Jordan Matthews, Sean Rea, Karl Andrade (Tommy Smith 86), Glenn Snell (Allicion Blake 67), Adam Hampson (George McCallum 90).

Saturday 2nd April 2011 – Ridgeons league Premier Division
CRC  0 – 4
Felixstowe & Walton United  (0-2)
Determination and a high work rate has seen the Seasiders record three wins on the bounce with the third coming at The Abbey on Saturday. The team would have remained unchanged for the first time this season if Allicion Blake had not confused the deep and shallow ends at the local swimming, with Adam Hampson grabbing his chance producing an energetic performance and his pace unsettling the CRC defence. Chasing down a long ball on 27 minutes Hampson cut the ball back to the influential Rhys Henry and his ball to the far post was headed home by Matt Mackenzie for the opener.
For the first twenty minutes CRC impressed, finding time and space which they used to effect with Jones in the Felixstowe goal saving well with his legs to deny Ingrey when through on goal and again well placed to hold Ingrey’s header following Brighton’s run and cross. Jones was well behind Eades’ free kick before the visitors began to press the ball and begin to disrupt the flow of the home side and increase the tempo of their own passing game.
Bloomfield replaced the injured Denniss and with Matthews gained good possession in midfield as the Seasiders gradually gained momentum.  Felixstowe ended the first half strongly and were two ahead following a long ball from Sheppard saw Rhys Henry outpace the home defence and slide the ball confidently under the advancing Trunca in the home goal.
After the break CRC needed a reply but resolute defending by the Felixstowe back line ensured opportunities were kept to a minimum and on 74 minutes the game was made safe following a strong run by Bloomfield with his pass fired home by Matt Mackenzie for his second.  The home side were reduced to ten when Ingrey was shown a straight red with 13 minutes remaining and four minutes later Miles Powell scored the fourth from the penalty spot after Henry had been bundled over in the area.
The win sees the Seasiders 17th in the table and 7 points above the bottom three and 10 points above the bottom two.

Tuesday 29th March 2011 – Ridgeons league Premier Division
Newmarket Town  0 - 2
Felixstowe & Walton United  (0-1)
Another positive performance from the Seasiders, with a goal in each half, secured their second away win in four days and six a point gap to the relegation places.
Matt Mackenzie opened the scoring on five minutes, having been released on the edge of the area by Henry’s defence splitting pass, to show great composure and slide the ball past the advancing Mackney in the home goal. The confidence gained from recent results showed in the Seasiders play as they quickly closed down the home defence and were keen to move the ball at pace and work hard for each other.
Danny Crump in the Felixstowe goal was well behind Ford’s shot from distance and palmed away Coe’s header as the home side enjoyed a spell of pressure but the visitors would have been further ahead at the break but for two fine saves from Mackney denying Mackenzie’s well struck shot and Blake at his near post.
Dan Davis’ header was cleared off the home line as the visitors looked to increase their lead early in the second half before a spell of pressure from the Jockeys saw Crump save well to block Lane’s shot with his legs and dive low to his left hand post to keep out Grainger’s dipping free kick.
The home side pressed for a reply but the Seasiders defended effectively and always looked dangerous on the break with Mackenzie and Henry both seeing shots saved by Mackney before Allicion Blake secured the points, with two minutes remaining on the watch, completing a strong positive run with a ball under the keeper.

Jockeys: Robin Mackney, David Grainger, Lewis Baillie, Darren Coe, Stefan Dancy (Jonathan Crick 13), Matt Hannifer, Jonathan Oliver, Jason King, James Lane (William Tyte 57), Des Ford, Stephen Bell.

Saturday 26th March 2011 – Ridgeons league Premier Division
Great Yarmouth Town  1 - 2
Felixstowe & Walton United  (1-2)
The Seasiders returned from a rain soaked Wellesley ground with maximum points, thanks to a brace from Blake, after a determined performance in testing conditions. With just one defeat in the last seven games Felixstowe have climbed to fifth from bottom and confidence is building, but with just six points covering the bottom five clubs there is plenty to play for as we approach the closing weeks of the season.

Bloaters: Jake Jessup, James Page, Jo Bell (Geoff Barnden 76), Gareth Palmer, Adrian Ager, Ross Catchpole, Luke Pell (Jonny Miller 45), Dominic Smith, Gavin Norman, Jake Reed, Scott Woodcock Brad Casey 88).

Rain that had been falling all morning in Yarmouth persisted throughout the game and credit to both sets of players and officials for taking this into account and producing an entertaining and open game. The Bloaters created the first clear opening with Felixstowe keeper Jones almost casually saving with his right hand Smith’s effort on goal from four yards out. Mackenzie, who held the ball up well and worked hard all afternoon, was narrowly wide a minute later before Reed placed the ball wide of Jones’ goal when well placed.
The Seasiders opened the scoring in the seventh minute when Allicion Blake received a telling pass from Henry and from a tight angle fired the ball home inside Jessup’s right hand post.
Jones saved well to deny the dangerous Norman a quick reply for the Bloaters with Mackenzie heading just wide for Felixstowe after Jessup had blocked Agricoles’ shot.
Allicion Blake scored his second and extended the visitors lead when he was released by Henry’s intelligent long ball from the half way line, beating the home defence and the on-rushing Jessup to guide the ball over the keeper and into the unguarded net.
Yarmouth continued to create openings and were rewarded ten minutes before the break when a sweetly struck shot on the turn from Gavin Norman defeated the diving Jones to his right. The flood lights were on by this stage as the rain showed no sign of relenting.
With passing increasingly difficult the Seasiders controlled the second half with Norman going closest again for the Bloaters, midway through the half, forcing the ball past Jones and Powell clearing off the line.  Jessup was quickly off his line to block Henry’s  shot following a long run from the nimble Felixstowe forward with time running down. Yarmouth continued to press for an equaliser but Felixstowe were determined to claim the points, deservedly holding their lead to the final whistle.

Saturday 19th March 2011 – Ridgeons league Premier Division

Felixstowe & Walton United  1 - 1  Wisbech Town   (1-1)
The Seasiders gained another valuable point from a hard fought and open game against the Fenmen at a sunny Dellwood Avenue on Saturday.
The visitors started the game on the front foot as
Felixstowe, with five changes to Tuesday’s starting eleven, took time to settle.  Jones saved from Johnson in the opening minute before punching Read’s corner kick clear to safety. After the early pressure Felixstowe started to get their passing game together with Jordan in the Wisbech goal well positioned to hold shots from Snell and Mackenzie.  The opening goal came on 26 minutes as Jordan Matthews swept the ball home following a free kick.
The lead was short lived however with Wisbech forcing a corner from the restart and Lewis Thompson rifled home the equaliser following Read’s corner kick.
Rhys Henry making his debut for the Seasiders, following his mid-week transfer from Needham Market, rattled the visitors cross bar as half time approached but at the break it was all square.
Both sides created opportunities in the second period with Mackenzie and Henry going close for the Seasiders and Ryland made a telling last ditch tackle to deny Stevens a shot on the
Felixstowe goal. Wisbech survived strong appeals for a penalty as the Referee over-ruled an Assistant after Henry tumbled to the ground after a strong run and Jordan needed his full hight to palm Rea’s dipping long range shot over the bar in injury time.

Felixstowe: Liam Jones, Kritian Haighton, George McCallum, Jay Denniss, Arran Sheppard, Matt Ryland, Jordan Matthews, Sean Rea, Glenn Snell (Adam Hampson 70), Matt Mackenzie, Rhys Henry.

Tuesday 15th March 2011 – Ridgeons league Premier Division
Felixstowe & Walton United  0 - 0  Haverhill Rovers
Our best wishes go to Ben Garnham who suffered a suspected broken ankle fifteen minutes into the game and after leaving the pitch on a stretcher left for Ipswich in an ambulance.
With Liam Jones limping from the field last Saturday Danny Crump became the seventh keeper to pull on the gloves for Felixstowe this season and had an excellent game keeping a clean sheet and gaining the Seasiders a valuable point. An open game which saw both sides earn two corners in the first four minutes may have lacked goals but their was no shortage of scoring opportunities with Mackenzie and Garnham both close in the opening ten minutes for the home side with Crump well behind Challis’ shot and Fernader shooting over in the opening exchanges. The lengthy delay for Ben Ganham’s injury understandably saw the game lose focus until the half time interval but after the break the tempo increased and Crump made a low save to deny Strong and Cutts held onto Mackenzie’s cross under pressure from Matthews. Both sides went close on a number of occasions but with Crump and Cutts both equal to the task the game ended in a deserved draw.

Felixstowe: Danny Crump, Arran Sheppard, Tom Agricole, Jay Denniss, Miles Powell, Matt Ryland, Jordan Matthews, Ben Garnham (Sean Rea 15), Allicion Blake, Matt Mackenzie, Glenn Snell.
Unused : Dan Davis, Adam Hampson, Roger Burton, Adam Dawson.

Saturday 12th March 2011 – Ridgeons league Premier Division
Wroxham  3 – 1
Felixstowe & Walton United  (1-1)
After a slow start the Yachtsmen gradually gained momentum controlling the second half to claim all three points from a 3-1 win as the Seasiders slid back into the relegation places.
Following Tuesday night’s away victory the Seasiders opened the game positively with Powell providing creativity in midfield and Mackenzie and Matthews movement off the ball. Sheppard’s throw to Blake behind the home defence on 19 minutes created the opening for Felixstowe to take the lead with Matt Mackenzie heading confidently past Pauling from Blake’s cross. The visitor’s early pressure justified the lead but Wroxham increased the tempo with Felixstowe conceding a number of free kicks outside the area as Gilmore tested the visiting defence. After a sighter that flew past Jones’ left hand upright Danny Self made no mistake with a free kick on 26 minutes placing the ball to Jones’ right from 20 yards.
Sheppard blocked Cook’s shot on the turn and Jones punched clear Howe’s free kick as the Yachtsmen finished the half strongly, but at the break it was honours even.
Within 20 seconds of the restart Wroxham were ahead thanks to a strong run and shot from Ben Thompson which flew past the diving Jones, who’s injured right ankle becoming an increasing problem.
Felixstowe continued to pose a threat on the break but the pressure from Wroxham produced the third goal just before the hour when the unfortunate Davis could only turn Bloomfield’s fierce low cross from the right into his own net. The Seasiders worked hard for a reply with Hampson close with a low shot from Blake’s cross but Wroxham finished worthy winners after initially going behind.

Wroxham: Nathan Pauling, Danny Self, Shaun Howes, Graham Challen (Claudio Langlois 79), Josh Carus, Danny Boswell, Gary Gilmore, Danny Bloomfield, Paul Cook, Ben Thompson (Gavin Lemmon 78), Jack Marsden.

Tuesday 8th March 2011 – Ridgeons league Premier Division
Ely City
  1 - 2  Felixstowe & Walton United  (0-1)
The Seasiders gained three valuable points from an open game of football with both sides creating numerous scoring opportunities. Jordan Matthews opened the scoring for the visitors with a confident strike on the run from 18 yards after eleven minutes from Denniss’ well placed pass from the half way line. Chadwick was well placed to equalise moments later but fired his shot over the Felixstowe bar from eight yards. The home side finished the half strongly with Felixstowe keeper Jones needing to be well placed to claim from Murray’s header and deservedly retain the lead at the interval.
At the start of the second half Ryland’s header across the home goal failed to find a vital touch and as the Robbins sprang from defence into attack Jones made an excellent save low to his left to deny Pettit on the break. Ely enjoyed their best spell of pressure of the game and after Wilson went close with a shot just past Jones’ right hand it was no surprise when Richard Chadwick levelled the score firing the ball home through a crowded goalmouth on 56 minutes. The Seasiders had to dig deep with Ryland, Powell, Davis and Sheppard competing well as Ely continued to stretch the play but gradually the visitors imposed themselves once more with Garnham and Denniss distributing the ball well to the willing front runners. After an excellent run down the right wing Matthews’ cross found Ben Garnham to strike the ball sweetly past Pacey in the home goal with 20 minutes remaining on the watch.
Ely pressed for an equaliser with Jones making a low save and after surviving a last minute goalmouth scramble the Seasiders recorded an excellent three points on the road to lift them out of the bottom three.

Saturday 5th March 2011 – Ridgeons league Premier Division
Felixstowe & Walton United  0 - 0  Hadleigh United
Liam Jones produced a number of saves, including a point blank save to deny Mayhew, as the visitors had the better of the first half with Felixstowe’s first shot on goal coming on 45 minutes.
Andrade’s shot just wide of Johnson’s right hand post seconds after the restart signalled a change of gear for the home side with an evenly contested second period producing openings for both sides. Garnham, Blake and Hampson went close for the Seasiders with Jones again on top form to smother Payne’s shot and save from Deacon, as full time approached, to earn a point the home side’s second half performance deserved

Tuesday 1st March 2011 – Ridgeons league Premier Division
Felixstowe & Walton United  1 - 1  CRC   (0-1)
Honours even on a cold windy evening at Dellwood Avenue after both sides scored following corner kicks which both defences will be disappointed at failing to clear. CRC took the lead on 33 minutes when the ball ran loose in the Felixstowe area and despite efforts to clear the ball it eventually crossed the line with Larry Athoto possibly obtaining the vital touch. There was no mistaking the scorer of the Seasider’s equaliser which came ten minutes from time with Jay Denniss firing the ball home from six yards after Feney had saved the initial shot.

Felixstowe: Liam Jones, Arran Sheppard, Matt Ryland, Jay Denniss, Miles Powell, Dan Davis, Roger Burton (Sean Rea 74), Jordan Matthews, Allicion Blake, Glenn Snell, Adam Hampson (Matt Mackenzie 74).
Unused : Tommy Smith, Adam Dawson.

The Seasiders welcomed Liam Jones’ return in goal and he was quickly into action claiming Brighton’s deep free kick, under pressure, and well positioned to hold headers from Hudson and Hughes. Blake created a good opening for the Seasiders and went close with a shot on the turn that flew over the CRC cross bar.
After an even opening period CRC began to find space with Hannant impressing in the visitors midfield and although the opening goal may have come from a defensive lapse it was well deserved and they could have extended their lead before the break with Brighton firing wide when well placed and Athoto seeing his header come back off Jones’ left hand post and cleared.
After the break Jones saved well from Smith and
Davis met Ryland’s corner kick well with his head as both defences came under pressure. Snell made good ground on the break mid-way through the half before placing his shot over the CRC bar from the edge of the area.
A double substitution for the Seasiders with fifteen minutes remaining brought results with Mackenzie’s positive runs creating pressure and from a corner ten minutes from time Feney made his first real save before Jay Denniss equalised from six yards. Both sides sensed a win was possible with Feney saving low to deny Powell and
Davis clearing off the home line in injury time at the expense of a corner as CRC looked to regain the lead. On the balance of play the Seasiders will be the more satisfied with the point after a run of three defeats and only goal difference keeping them in the bottom three.

Tuesday 15th February 2011 – Ridgeons league Premier Division

Felixstowe & Walton United   1 - 2  FC Clacton   (0-1)
Ben Garnham
opened his account for Felixstowe with a well struck shot from Ryland’s deep cross which came back off a Clacton post in the 89th minute of the match. It was to be the home sides only shot on target and proved to be merely a consolation with little time for a grand stand finish.
Felixstowe forced two early corners but despite a fair share of possession posed little threat to the visiting keeper Rutherford, while Heath in the home goal made a number of saves before Jack Crawley scored from a free kick just out side the area on 21 minutes with the ball going in off Heath’s left hand post.
Seven minutes after the interval, with the rain coming down, Sean  Hillier double the visitors lead firing the ball home off the underside of the bar after Heath had a made another fine save.
A strong run by Ryland through midfield, resulting in his shot cannoning off the Clacton cross-bar, inspired
Felixstowe to a late rally which was rewarded with Garnham’s late goal. But on the night the visitors were good value for their win and deservedly returned to Essex with the three points.

Felixstowe: Dan Heath, Arran Sheppard, Matt Ryland, Sean Rea (George McAllum 72), Shaun Benneworth, Dan Davis, Jordan Matthews, Ben Garnham, Allicion Blake, Craig Payne (Karl Andrade 56), Adam Hampson.

Tuesday 8th February 2011 – Ridgeons league Premier Division
 Leiston  2 - 0
Felixstowe & Walton United   (1-0)
A good performance from the Seasiders at Victory Road as Leiston, looking forward to Saturday’s FA Vase fixture, extended their lead at the top of the table to five points.  The home side may have expected a more comfortable evening after forcing a first minute corner and a good save from Heath in the Felixstowe goal but with Davis back at the heart of the defence they found it difficult to break down the visitors resolve until Cunningham, not for the first time, went to ground when challenged by Sheppard and Angelo Harrop made no mistake from the penalty spot.
Felixstowe produced good build up play with Denniss and Hampson going close and Stannard was down quickly at the feet of Blake, but the visitors failed to get a shot on target while Heath was forced to make another good save from Harrop before the interval to prevent Leiston increasing their lead.
The Seasiders passed their way into the Leiston area on a couple of occasions after the break with Denniss and then Garnham closed down by Saker and Head before getting their shots away. Heath made a low save to deny Ottley-Gooch on the hour before Michael Brothers intercepted a poor clearance to slot home the second and decisive goal three minutes later.
Leiston made three substitutions with Saturday in mind and although
Felixstowe kept their shape and continued to press for a reply the home side comfortably retained their lead to the final whistle.

Leiston: Jamie Stannard, Blake Saker, Patrick Brothers, Simon Head, Mark Goldfinch, Stuart Broadley, Lee Ottley-Gooch, Luke Hammond (Danny Smy 63), Michael Brothers, Angelo Harrop (Neil Calver 66), Danny Cunningham (Gareth Heath 63).
Unused : David Head,

Saturday 5th February 2011 – Ridgeons league Premier Division

Felixstowe & Walton United  1 - 5  Norwich United  (1-3)
The fire power of Porky Claydon secured a comfortable win for the Planters with the former Seasider scoring four goals, including a first half hat-trick, as the Norfolk side went Nap at Dellwood Avenue.

Seasiders: Dan Heath, Arran Sheppard, Matt Ryland, Ben Garnham, Dan Cook, Tom Agricole (Glenn Snell 63), Jay Denniss (Sean Rea 70), Allicion Blake, Craig Payne (Karl Andrade 63), Jordan Matthews, Adam Hampson.

Blake went close in the opening minute for the home side with Jeal firing over the Felixstowe bar in response as the game started in lively fashion. Claydon opened his account on six minutes with a well struck shot on the turn, from Hunter’s right wing cross, with his physical presence testing  a re-arranged Felixstowe back line. The home side enjoyed a good spell of possession playing the ball on the ground and Matthews saw his shot, following a slide rule pass from mid-field by Garnham, just clear the bar. Agricole’s free kick beat everyone just passing the far post when any touch would have seen a goal and Agricole linked well with the busy Hampson before Poppy cleared the danger at the expense of a corner. Felixstowe’s build up play was rewarded on 22 minutes when Craig Payne found space 8 yards out to place the ball past Nower in the visitors goal for the equaliser.
The contest remained even until Claydon headed home Hunter’s corner kick on 33 minutes and six minutes later Claydon ran through the home back line, before brushing off a challenge, to fire home his hat-trick.
The next goal would be all important and after Blake went close to reducing the deficit following the interval it was Porky Claydon scoring his fourth, after a solo run from the half way line on 54 minutes, that secured the destination of the points. Three substitutions made for the home side but they failed to test Nower in the second period and Tom Jeal with nine minutes remaining produced a screamer from 25 yards to cap the win.
Felixstowe were reduced to ten with ten minutes remaining after Garnham received his second yellow card of the game.

Following two wins the Seasiders will be disappointed with the second half performance but will re-group and look to bounce back as they travel to Leiston on Tuesday.

Tuesday 1st February 2011 – Ridgeons league Premier Division
Wivenhoe Town  0 - 2
Felixstowe & Walton United  (0-1)
The Seasiders were rewarded for the effort shown throughout the team with three points from the trip to Broad Lane, which sees them out of the relegation places at least until tomorrow. On a heavy pitch Felixstowe moved the ball around well with Garnham pulling the midfield strings and Payne, Blake and Hampson quick to close down the Dragons back line and force them to hurry their play.
The home side looked dangerous on the break but were caught off-side too many times to gain any momentum and Heath in the
Felixstowe goal was little troubled. The opening goal came on 22nd minutes when a fluid Felixstowe move culminated in Payne’s shot being saved by Wilding in the home goal only for the rebound to be deflected over the line from close range by a defender under pressure from Matthews.
Blanchett went closest for the Dragons with a curling shot just over the bar and just failing to gain the vital touch from Keatings’s cross which just went past Heath’s left hand post. Wilding produced a flying save to deny Garnham before the break and on the hour produced a stunning finger-tip save to keep out Payne’s dipping shot. Hampson saw two shots saved by Wilding at his near post as the Seasiders searched for the elusive second goal.
Three substitutes for the home side saw them gain an increased share of possession and the Seasiders had to defend in strength for periods of the second half with Ryland and Davis working hard to deny the Dragons a clear sight of goal.
Felixstowe substitute Karl Andrade secured the points in the 89th minute following a neat interchange with Blake, slotting the ball into the roof of the net from six yards.
A valuable and deserved win for the Seasiders who have gained seven points from the last three games and tonight recorded their first clean sheet in the league since September.

Dragons: Adam Wilding, Joe Hawkins (Jamie Lee-Smith 65), Tola Odedoyn, Ben Lampon, Tom Cutts, Ryan Brown, Terry Amas, Reece Keating, Aaron Peck (Pete Sansford 45), Max Egbunda, Lewis Blanchett (Andy Gibbons 80).
Unused : Tom Rogers, Matthew Grove.

Felixstowe & Walton United  4 - 2  Histon Reserves  (1-2)
The Seasiders recovered from two goals down to earn three vital points and move off the foot off the  table. Lawrence and Wright gave the visitors the early advantage as they quickly went into a two goal lead and were in control before Allicion Blake pulled a goal back to keep the home side in the game at the interval. The second half saw the Seasiders gain a grip on the game with Jordan Matthews scoring twice and Adam Hampson also on the score sheet as Felixstowe recorded their second home league win of the season.

Seasiders: Heath, Smythe (Cook 45), Ryland, Rea (Garnham 63), Davis, McCullum (Snell 73), Denniss, Matthews, Payne, Blake, Hampson.

Histon: Harben, Everdell (Wells 83), Asensi, Warren, Verrall, Libertucci (Sessions 63), Unwin, Dowie, Wright, Lawrence, Day (Hawkins 63).

Att: 55

The home side came back from a poor first half performance to take the points with a late show and lift themselves off the foot of the table, but for much of this game the threat of relegation looked  etched into the Seasiders play.

Conceding a string of early free kicks deep in their own half put the home side on the back foot against a youthful visitor’s and Histon’s second corner of the game with just six minutes on the clock produced the opening goal. Everdell’s kick was helped on by Verrall for Lawrence to finish from close range. The visitors doubled the score in the 21st minute as they punished the home sides poor defending as they conceded their seventh free kick of the game in their own half. Everdell swung his free kick into the area and Wright was left in space to beat Heath with the home defence having strong appeals for offside turned down the referee.

Matthews tested Harben at one end and McCullum headed off the line at the other before Blake reduced the deficit in the 26th minute.  Harben blocked firstly Hampson then Rea’s efforts from a corner before Blake fired through a sea of legs to pull a goal back.

Felixstowe & Walton replaced Smythe with Cook at the break and saw strong appeals for a penalty turned away by Mr Franklin when Payne was felled inside the area in the 62nd minute but it had been Histon’s Dowie pulling the midfield strings until The Seasiders withdrew Rea a minute later putting on Ben Garnham following his morning transfer from Hadleigh.

The momentum of the game swung to the home side with Hampson firing into the side netting and Garnham sending a long range effort over Harben’s bar before the game was turned on its head in a hectic final seven minutes of the game. Matthews grabbed the equaliser as Histon failed to clear Snell’s free kick and a minute later the home side were ahead through Hampson who tucked the ball away at the far post from Snell’s corner.

It was a remarkable turn round for the home side but they saved the best ‘till last with Matthews producing a spectacular finish three minutes into time added on when Harben advanced to the edge of the area but failed to clear the ball cleanly and the alert Matthews looped the ball goalwards from fully 40 yards to clear Harben and nestle in the back of the net.

Saturday 22nd January 2011 – Ridgeons league Premier Division

Felixstowe & Walton United  1 – 1  Kirkley & Pakefield  (1-0)
With the three sides above the Seasiders all drawing today this was an important point against the Royals who remain 7th in the table. In fact it was ‘as you were’ for all 22 teams with no movement in the table following today’s fixtures.
The Seasiders held a narrow lead at the interval thanks to a ninth minute goal from Jordan Matthews and two excellent saves by Dan Heath in the home goal.
Felixstowe were good value for their half time lead and would have been disappointed not to have been further ahead given the chances they created, but by the final whistle would be content with the point.
In an open game of football the Royals equalised just after the hour with a well taken goal from Scott Manning who impressed in the second half producing another fine save from Heath before heading another chance narrowly wide. The visitors looked the more likely to claim maximum points but Davis led the back line well to see the game out and Payne on his debut saw his shot on the break fly over the Royal’s crossbar with time running down.
A very positive performance from the Seasiders, who look like they may have turned a corner. We shall see when the team directly above, Histon Reserves who drew with Great Yarmouth today, visit Dellwood Avenue next Saturday.

Seasiders: Dan Heath, Tom Agricole, Matt Ryland, Sean Rea (Allicion Blake 80), Dan Davis, Miles Powell, Jay Denniss, Rob Smythe, Craig Payne, Jordan Matthews, Adam Hampson.
Unused subs: Arran Sheppard, Tommy Smith.

Royals: Dave Attridge, Jack Newrick, Ryan Bloom field, Ryan De-Coteau (Matt Potter 72), Zak Clarke, Scott Martin, Liam Harvey-Cooper (Alex Holmes 55), Russ Brown, Ryan Crisp, Kyle Baker, Scott Manning.
Unused sub: Adam Boggis.

Officials: Andy Tyne, Michael Griffiths, Martin Coxall.

Rob Smythe and Craig Payne signed in time for the visit of Kirkley & Pakefield with the Seasiders looking to strengthen and move away from the bottom of the table. The five games currently in hand against fellow relegation strugglers need to be converted into points and with four of the next five games at home including today, plus a mid-week trip to Wivenhoe, a move up the table from these fixtures is the challenge set.

With the first half advantage of a cold wind blowing down the pitch the Seasiders started positively winning a corner in the first minute with Matthews heading narrowly wide at the near post from Ryland’s flag kick. Hampson saw his low shot claimed by Attridge in the Kirkley goal before Harvey-Cooper fired over the
Felixstowe bar from the edge of the area as the game flowed end to end.

A flowing move from the Seasiders resulted in the opening goal on nine minutes as Jordan Matthews skipped past the Kirkley back line into the area to guide the ball past Attridge and into the net.

Payne headed over from Hampson’s cross and at the other end Heath denied Kirkley’s Crisp twice in quick succession, the second a low save at his right hand post at the expense of a corner. Attridge made a double save on his line to deny Matthews and Heath produced a flying save as De-Coteau diverted Martin’s shot from distance. Another excellent save from Heath to deny Brown maintained the Seasiders lead with Davis going agonisingly close to doubling the lead just before half time with a solid header from Payne’s corner kick.

The Seasiders defended well in the second half as the Royals pressed for a reply and the visitors were rewarded for some excellent approach play with a well struck goal from Scott Manning on 62 minutes.
Manning brought a save from Heath who also saw a post come to his assistance as Manning went close yet again. Kirkley finished strongly with Davis, Powell and Ryland working overtime to clear the danger and on the break Payne went close to snatching the points in the final minutes with a shot over the Kirkley bar. The visitors also went close but after an entertaining game the draw was a fair result.

The Seasiders played well as a unit with the fans confident they had seen signs for optimism from a greatly improved performance.

Saturday 15th January 2011 – Ridgeons league Premier Division
Woodbridge Town  3 - 0
Felixstowe & Walton United  (3-0)
With a strong wind on their backs the Woodpeckers took full advantage scoring all three goals in the first half through Banya, Hubbard and Churchyard. The Seasiders had the better of the second half but a diving save by Dixon to deny Powell was the nearest they came to a reply as they failed to convert possession into any real threat on the home goal.

Woodpeckers: Glyn Dixon, Kelsey Trotter, Ben Miller, Tom Trevivian (Liam Scopes 75), Joe Button, Mark Roper, Aaron Churchyard, Paul Berry, James Hubbard (Seb Brinstead 86), Ben Seaman, Sam Banya (James Pipe 81).

Three changes to the Felixstowe line up that drew their last game played on 4th January against Stanway Rovers with Bloomfield returning to University, Severy coming to the end of his loan period and signing for Hadleigh, plus Matthews starting on the bench. In came Rea, Mackenzie and Hampson.
With so few games, only two since the end of November, players returning from injury and welcoming a few new signings it would be difficult for any side, especially one at the foot of the table, to gather a deal of momentum and it will take a few games for the team to start firing on all cylinders.

Both sides were pleased to be playing football after so many postponements during the last six weeks but in truth the wind did not help the game flow although the home side will have been pleased to win the toss and have the wind behind them in the first half.

Woodbridge enjoyed early possession and Heath in the visitors goal was well behind Banya’s shot on ten minutes as he produced the first shot on target. Two minutes later the home side were ahead when Seaman’s deep cross from the left found Sam Banya in space on the right side of the Felixstowe penalty area to control the ball and rifle home off the far post.

Felixstowe enjoyed an attacking spell with Dixon claiming the ball comfortably from Rea’s corner kick. On 18 minutes the home side doubled their lead as a cross from the left found James Hubbard unmarked six yards out to head home.
The next goal would be all important and Aaron Churchyard, released down the left by Banya, delivered with a well struck shot following a good run into the
Felixstowe area six minutes before the break.

As expected the wind saw most of the second half play in the Woodbridge half with Dixon making a low save from Mackenzie two minutes after the restart. Snell’s header was collected by Dixon but despite the pressure the telling final touch was missing and Heath in the Felixstowe goal had to be alert to deny Chrurchard low at his left hand post to prevent Woodbridge extending the lead on the break.
A double substitution saw Smith and Matthews introduced into the midfield for the Seasiders with 30 minutes remaining as they looked to increase the threat on the home goal. Snell’s shot on the turn was turned away for a corner but as a result he limped off the field to be replaced by Andrade.  Dixon produced the save of the game to deny Powell’s long range strike at the expense of a corner but the home defence held firm enabling Dixon to record a clean sheet.

A lengthy injury close to full time saw Joe Button stretchered from the field and we wish him well.

Having made all three subs the Woodpeckers saw out time with ten men, leaving the Seasiders at the foot of the table and looking to two home games on the next two Saturday’s for valuable points to help move them up the table.

Monday 3rd January 2011 – Ridgeons league Premier Division
Felixstowe & Walton United   1 - 1  Stanway Rovers (0-1)

Liam Bailey opened the scoring for the visitors on eight minutes from the penalty spot following a hand ball with an own goal five minutes into the second half levelling the score.

With the Seasiders only playing once in December and  the visitors without a fixture since November both teams were pleased to be taking to the field once more. The home side had Jay Denniss on debut and Dan Heath and Tom Agricole on home debut as well seeing a number of players back in the side following injury including Captain Matt Ryland.
On a cloudy and cold afternoon Rovers started the brighter with Tolaj impressing down the left wing and Newson testing Heath with a low shot which the
Felixstowe keeper collected well. Powell was quick to intercept Lartey’s dangerous cross, following a good run down the right, at the expense of a corner as the visitors attacked in numbers.  Bailey took the flag kick and when Hughes’ header at the near post struck the outstretched arm of Davis Mr Lodge had no hesitation in pointing to the spot. Liam Bailey stepped up sending Heath the wrong way to take the lead on eight minutes.
Stanway continued to hold the advantage in the first period without further testing the home keeper and as the half progressed
Felixstowe came more into the game with Church blocking Snell’s close range shot on 24 minutes and with half time approaching Snell went close with a curling shot just wide of Church’s left hand post, but the visitors deservedly held the lead at the interval.

The Seasiders altered shape for the start of the second half with Bloomfield pushed forward and with an extra zip in the stride forced an early corner which was cleared only to the edge of the area for Powell to fire over the Stanway bar.
Felixstowe kept the pressure on with Bloomfield, Severy and Snell linking well to produce the equaliser five minutes after the restart as Hughes attempting to clear from Bloomfield forced the ball from close range into the goal.
Fitzgibbon replaced Newson and was close with a long range shot as the game opened up with both sides creating openings as they went in search of a winner. Matthew’s long range shot was headed away by Spindler with Ryland’s free-kick headed clear by Hughes at the expense of a corner as
Felixstowe pressed and Hughes blasted over the Felixstowe cross bar from Gould’s cross in injury time as the game flowed end to end.
Robbins, in the Stanway goal for the injured Church, made two excellent blocking saves to deny Blake in the final seconds to keep the sides level with the draw a fair result.
The Seasiders remain at the foot of the table but only two points cover the bottom four.

Saturday 11th December 2010 – Ridgeons league Premier Division
 Hadleigh United  4 - 1
Felixstowe & Walton United   (0-0)
The Seasiders named three debutants in the starting eleven for the visit to the Millfield; keeper Dan Heath, Tom Agricole and  Dan Cook.  After a goal-less first half the home side upped the pace to win comfortably with goals from Deacon, Wright, Read and Canfer to lift them to 7th in the table.
Hamspon scored a consolation goal for the visitors but with Brantham Athletic and Histon Reserves both winning the Seasiders find themselves back at the foot of the table

With three players making their debuts, Kevin and Andy were hoping for an improved performance against their hosts who were on a good unbeaten run but the injury hoodoo struck again as they lost central defender Dan Cook with just 23 minutes on the clock.

In an even start both sides created early openings without testing the opposing ‘keepers with Dan Heath looking solid and confident in goal and his other debutees, Tom Agricole and Dan Cook giving the defence a good shape. Cook had already been booked when he appeared to be the victim rather than the aggressor in an early tackle before he went low to head clear and former Seasider Duane Wright went to kick the ball leaving Cook dazed and with a bloody face, there was certainly no malice or intention in the clash but it left the Seasiders management with another headache. Striker Matt MacKenzie replaced Cook for his first taste of senior football as a central defender  and at the break, although goal-less, the Seasiders were certainly holding their own and only a point blank save by Arren Benstead denied Allicion Blake from putting the Seasiders into a half time lead.

It was a different story after the break with Hadleigh breaking the deadlock within three minutes of the restart. A cross-field pass found Wright who saw his effort parried by Dan Heath but Deacon was first to react and stabbed the ball home. Reece Turner limped out of the game a minute later to be replaced by Tommy Smith and three goals in a ten minute spell sealed the Seasiders fate. Firstly Wright lobbed the ball over the advancing Heath followed by another former Seasider Luke Read dispossessing Agricole and rounding Heath to add the third. It was 4-0 in the 71st minute when Canfer’s deflected header from Wrights corner wrong footed Heath and Adam Hampson’s rising volley three minutes later was scant consolation with the sides around them picking up points to leave them in bottom place going into the Christmas period.

Saturday 20th November 2010 – Ridgeons league Premier Division
Walsham le Willows  6 - 2  Felixstowe & Walton United (2-1)
The Seasiders replaced their hosts in the bottom three as Walsham scored four second half goals to record their second win of the campaign on a foggy and damp afternoon at Summer Road.
An important game for both sides and McLaughlan shot wide of both Felixstowe posts in the first ten minutes as Walsham starting the brighter. The visitors eased their way into the game with McNally saving Rea’s long range shot and after Severy and Snell linked well McNally was down quickly at the feet of Mackenzie to smother the ball. Snell and Matthews both shot wide following good build up play for the Seasiders before Jack Severy drilled the ball home from the edge of the area on 31 minutes after McNally had bravely blocked Matthews initial shot.
The lead was short lived and following a free kick three minutes later, that was not cleared, Chris McLaghlan rattled home the equaliser. Felixstowe encouraged by Snell continued to produce good build up play but they went behind on 37 minutes when a long ball out of the Walsham defence deceived Waters in the gloom and Ollie Hughes following up pounced to tap home. Despite this set back the Seasiders finished the half strongly with Fenner clearing off the line to keep his side ahead at the break.
When Arran Sheppard got the vital touch to Glen Snell’s free kick to bring the side level five minutes after the restart there was justified optimism among the visiting fans that a repeat of last week’s win may be on the cards. However this was to be the Seasiders last serious threat on the home goal as Walsham took control. Just before the hour Gary Newman’s corner was not cleared and Trevor Newman forced the ball home in a crowded area. Felixstowe were now on the back foot and after good build up play Chris McLaughlan scored his second sliding the ball under Waters from 12 yards on 67 minutes. Four minutes later the home side went Nap following another corner as Tom Fenner scored off the under side of the bar. Ten minutes from time Fenner scored his second and Walsham’s sixth to leave the Seasiders back in the bottom three.

Willows: Duncan McNally, Matt Morton, Liam Grimwood, Tom Fenner, Trevor Newman, Richard Partridge (Lee Nocton 80), Chris McLaughlan, Shane Leech, Ollie Hughes (Tom Dedenham 70), James Tatham, Gary Newman (Louis Kemp 60).

Tuesday 16th November 2010 – Ridgeons League Cup
 Felixstowe & Walton United  2 - 3 Stowmarket Town   (2-2)
Stowmarket Town progressed to the second round and a home tie against Histon Reserves as they claimed their second Premier Division scalp. Dan Smith headed the visitors into the lead at the far post on 12 minutes and deservedly increased their lead just after the half-hour mark when Wayne Proctor guided the ball into an empty net from fully 40 yards.
The Seasiders recovered and were level before the interval thanks to Jordan Matthews, following up to score after Snell’s free kick cannoned back off the bar, and Miles Powell’s volley in a crowded goalmouth.
Severy went close twice for the home side before substitute Nathan Birch headed home the decider from a corner to take the visitors through.

Saturday 13th November 2010 – Ridgeons league Premier Division
 Felixstowe & Walton United  5 - 2  Great Yarmouth Town   (1-2)
The Seasiders recorded their first home league win of the season in a very entertaining game for the spectators but a nightmare for the Managers. Sky Bet would have given you very good odds against a home win at the interval. But for several top class saves from Gary Rose and resolute defending the visitors would have been out of sight at the break but had to settle for a one goal lead with a brace from Gavin Norman in the last ten minutes of the half after Jack Severy’s dipping volley from 25 yards had given the home side the lead against the run of play on 20 minutes.
The Bloaters looking for their sixth away win of the campaign appeared to be comfortably in charge but two minutes after the restart Jordan Matthews pounced on a defensive mistake to finish well with a low ball past Hilton in the Yarmouth goal to draw the sides level. Rose made another telling save to deny McGee just before the hour and from that point the tide turned with Felixstowe now creating the chances and Snell and Severy both went close before Adam Hampson produced a spectacular volley from over 30 yards to put the Seasiders ahead with just over ten minutes remaining.
Hilton made a fine save to deny Severy and another to block Allicion Blake’s initial shot before Blake, having just been introduced to the game, fired home the rebound. With Yarmouth pushing forward Jordan Matthews scored his second and the Seasiders fifth to take them not only off the foot of table but out of the bottom three.

Seasiders: Gary Rose, Kristian Haighton, George McCallum, Tommy Smith, Alex Ellwood, Matt Ryland, Roger Burton, Jordan Matthews, Glen Snell (Allicion Blake 84), Jack Severy, Adam Hampson.
Unused subs: Matt Mackenzie, Dan Cook, James Waters.

Saturday 6th November 2010 – Ridgeons league Premier Division

Felixstowe & Walton United  3 - 5  Wroxham   (2-3)
The Seasiders scored three goals in a league game for the first time this season but failed to register their first home league win as second in the table Wroxham went Nap to extend their winning run to seven after an entertaining game.
The Yachtsmen went ahead on five minutes from the first corner of the game with Owen Paynter finding space six yards out to turn and fire the ball home. A minute later and home keeper Waters returning from injury stood his ground to deny Hilton at the expense of a corner. On nine minutes
Felixstowe responded with Jack Severy slotting the ball home for the equaliser before Damian Hilton regained the lead with a looping header over Waters just two minutes later.
The Yachtsmen survived strong appeals for a penalty after Severy on another run into the visiting area was felled and on 21 minutes they extended their lead, Steve Jordan heading home at the near post from a corner.
Glen Snell reduced the deficit mid-way through the half with a well struck free kick from the edge of the area to ensure the hard working home side stayed in touch and an open game continued with both keepers kept on their toes. Waters made saves from Boswell and Durant with Howie in the Wroxham goal alert to deny Burton with half-time approaching.
Wroxham looked to press home their advantage after the interval with Waters saving from Durant in the opening minute at the expense of a corner and Burton coolly cleared the ball off the line following the flag kick. Ross Durrant converted Paynters cross from close range on 50 minutes and when Jordan headed home his second from yet another corner it looked to be game over. Snell shot narrowly wide as the home side looked to close the gap and were rewarded when Arran Sheppard headed home their third with just over ten minutes remaining. Howie saved from Snell but despite the Seasiders persistence to the end the Yachtsmen comfortably saw out time to record their 14th league win of the season.  The Seasiders though defeated will take heart that if they continue to perform as today they will soon rise up the table.

Seasiders: James Waters, Arran Sheppard, Matt Ryland, Tommy Smith, Miles Powell, Dan Davis (Alex Ellwood 21), Roger Burton Allicion Blake 80), Shaun Rea, Jack Severy, Glen Snell, Adam Hampson (Jordan Matthews 66).

Tuesday 2nd November 2010 – LB Group Suffolk Premier Cup Quarter Final

Felixstowe & Walton United   0 - 2  Bury Town  (0-2)
Ryman Premier side Bury Town, making a welcome return to Dellwood Avenue, progressed to the semi-final of the competition with two first half goals against a
Felixstowe side that was always in the contest.
The visitors applied early pressure and were ahead on four minutes after Davis bundled over Sam Rees with
Chris Henderson converting the resulting spot kick. The home side responded well to the early set back and Pope in the Bury goal was quickly off his line to clear as Andrade chased down a long ball before Rea cleared the visitors cross-bar from distance. Bury continued to enjoy the majority of the possession and Scowcroft went close heading past the far post from Short’s cross on 32 minutes.
The home side had their best opportunity to equalise five minutes from the interval with Pope making a good blocking save to deny Andrade at the expense of a corner, but two minutes later the visitors doubled their lead when Scot Chaplin’s shot was deflected past Rose in the home goal.
A quiet second period for both keepers and in a sporting game Powell was unlucky to see two late cards as the Seasiders ended the game with ten players.
A good performance from the Seasiders against senior opposition and we wish Bury Town success in the semi-final and for the rest of the season.

Seasiders: Gary Rose, Arran Sheppard, George McCallum, Tommy Smith, Miles Powell, Dan Davis, Shaun Rea, Glen Snell (Alex Ellwood 87), Roger Burton (Kristian Haighton 80), Karl Andrade (Matt Mackenzie 50), Adam Hampson.

Saturday 30th October 2010 – Ridgeons league Premier Division
 Mildenhall Town  2 - 0  Felixstowe & Walton United  (0-0)
Hall gained revenge for their FA Cup exit at Dellwood Avenue with two goals from John Sands early in the second half to claim all three points and place the Seasiders at the foot of the table after an impressive start to the game by Felixstowe.
With one change to Tuesday’s line up, Mackenzie replacing Andrade, the visitors enjoyed the better of the opening half with home keeper Pope kept busy as Hampson, Mackenzie and Severy pressed the Hall back line. Avis cleared off the home goal-line from Mackenzie’s headed with Pope saving well from MaCallum’s shot and Severy went close before the home side began to make an impression.
Cudworth in the Felixstowe goal produced a good save low at his left hand post to deny Cooper and was at his best again to turn Sands’ shot on the turn over for a corner on the half hour. Mackenzie’s header was easily save by Pope as the game now flowed from end with Cudworth making another low save from Sands’ free kick to maintain parity at the interval.
Hall applied sustained pressure on the Felixstowe goal after the break with John Sands completing a solo run with a low shot under the advancing Cudworth three minutes after the restart to open the scoring. Cudworth saved from Mould but could do nothing to prevent Sands scoring his second as he produced an acrobatic overhead kick to place the ball high into the roof of the net, a truly excellent goal. Powell and Smith both went close for the Seasiders as they went in search of a reply and Andrade was close to scoring a consolation in time added on but Pope was not tested in the second period.

Tuesday 26th October 2010 – Ridgeons League Cup preliminary round
 Felixstowe & Walton United  2 - 0  Wivenhoe Town  (1-0)
On a wet and windy night on the East Coast the Seasiders progressed to the 1st Round of the League Cup where they will entertain Stowmarket Town in three weeks time. Aaron Shepherd and Shaun Rea were making their debuts for the home side with Shepherd’s rising shot going narrowly wide in the opening minutes. After a quarter of an hour Jack Severy headed home his first goal for the club and went close to doubling the lead as the home side held the first half advantage. The Dragons defended well but showed little in attack with their best opportunity coming on the hour when Rogers pounced on a defensive mistake but saw his shot into an empty net blocked for a corner.
Adam Hampson put the game beyond the visitors in the 64th minute, scoring from the penalty spot, after Sansford and Lee Smith had combined to halt his run into the area.

Seasiders: Paul Cudworth, Arran Sheppard, Matt Ryland (Kristian Haighton 64), Tommy Smith, Miles Powell, Dan Davis, Shaun Rea, George McCallum, Karl Andrade (Jordan Seaman 70), Jack Severy, Adam Hampson.

Saturday 23rd October 2010 – Ridgeons league Premier Division
 Felixstowe & Walton United  0 - 5  Dereham Town  (0-1)
A second half hat-trick from Daniel Beaumont, two from the penalty spot, helped League leaders Dereham Town to a comfortable win as the Magpies went Nap at Dellwood Avenue this afternoon.
The Seasiders named Jack Severy, on loan from Needham Market, in the starting line up and he linked well with Hampson to create an opening for McCallum, with his shot narrowly wide, during a bright start for the home side. Beaumont drilled a shot across the home goal as the Magpies increased the pressure on the home goal with Ryland, Powell, Davis and Haighton defending well but in the 20th Minute Scott Roberts created space in the area to produce an excellent shot on the turn to defeat the diving Cudworth wide to his right. A spell of attacking possession from the Seasiders as the interval approached saw Marshall save Ryland’s diving header and Andrade shot narrowly wide as the visitors held a narrow lead at the break.
Dereham moved up a gear in the second half with Beaumont seeing a goal ruled out for off-side six minutes after the restart, but he was on the score sheet just a minute later from the penalty spot after Powell had brought down Sam Willis.  A decisive run from Oliver Willis into the area provided Beaumont with his second from six yards on the hour and just two minutes later a further telling run from Willis ended with a trip in the area enabling Beaumont to record his hat-trick from the spot.
The home side continued to work hard but failed to retain possession of the ball for any length of time and with twenty minutes remaining Gary Starling added the fifth direct from a free kick. Deep into time added on Andrade from distance went close to providing a consolation but Marshall maintained a clean sheet and the Magpies comfortably retained their top of the table position.

Seasiders: Paul Cudworth, Kristian Haighton, Matt Ryland, Tommy Smith (Jordan Egerton 77), Miles Powell, Dan Davis, Karl Andrade, George McCallum, Matt Mackenzie (Jordan Seaman 68), Jack Severy, Adam Hampson.

Tuesday 19th October 2010 – Ridgeons league Premier Division
 Felixstowe & Walton United  0 - 2  Brantham Athletic  (0-0)
Brantham recorded their second league win of the season with two second half goals at a cold and wet Dellwood Avenue this evening. Bedingfield in the visitors goal made an early save to deny Mackenzie and Cudworth was down quickly to hold French’s shot in a first half that saw little goal mouth action. Ollie Mann had the ball in the Felixstowe net on 20 minutes but the off-side flag had already been raised and with both sides releasing possession too easily the game limped to the half time break.
Mackenzie with a shot on the turn went close after the restart and Andrade’s curling shot following Hampson’s persistence was narrowly wide of the Brantham goal, but that was as close as the home side came to scoring and on the hour Brantham took the lead. Lee Grimwood’s free kick, following a hand ball, was headed home by Ollie Mann and five minutes later Mann fired home his second from six yards to confirm the win.

Seasiders: Paul Cudworth, Kristian Haighton, Matt Ryland, Tommy Smith, Miles Powell, Dan Davis, Jordan Seaman (Roger Burton 66), Reece Turner (Alex Ellwood 56), Matt Mackenzie, Karl Andrade (George McCallum 77), Adam Hampson.

Saturday 16th October 2010 – Ridgeons league Premier Division

 Haverhill Rovers  1 - 1  Felixstowe & Walton United  (1-0)
Karl Andrade
scored deep into time added on to a snatch a point for the Seasiders after the home side had dominated for much of the game. Keeper Gary Rose who had answered the Managers call and re-signed for the club less than 24 hours before the Seasiders first visit to the New Croft was in action from the start and had an excellent game.
Rovers attacked from the off earning three corners in the first five minutes with Kingham heading over the first from Abbott as the visitors were forced to defend in depth and when Dalton O’Brien pounced on a loose defensive mistake to fire home on eight minutes it looked like being a long afternoon for a Seasiders side showing numerous changes due to injury. Emmanual, Higgs and Abbott all impressed for the home side but with the Felixstowe defence working overtime they failed to increase their lead and when Snell struck a post with home keeper Morrison beaten ten minutes before the interval Rovers were aware that one goal might not be enough.
The second half started as the first with the home side on the attack and Rose quickly off his line to deny O’Brien a second and decisive goal in the opening minute. Emmanuel and O’Brien both saw shots saved before Andrade on the break beat Morrison only to see his shot also strike a post. The Felixstowe woodwork was also rattled before Rose made the save of the afternoon diving to his left to keep out substitute Harper’s fierce strike with sixteen minutes remaining.
Burton and Spencer came on for Felixstowe in search of a reply as the home side, unable to extend their lead, started to settle for the one goal advantage. Captain Hampson urged for one last effort and with seconds remaining Burton’s cross from the right was volleyed home by Andrade, to the delight of the travelling fans, for a draw that felt like a win.

Wednesday 13th October 2010 – Suffolk FA Premier Cup 1st Round
 Walsham le Willows  1 – 2  Felixstowe & Walton United  (0-1)
Keeper Jimmy Waters ended the evening in Hospital with a dislocated thumb as the Seasiders injury list continued to grow. Glenn Snell pulled on the gloves for the final twenty minutes as the visitors held on to progress to the 2nd round and we wish Jimmy a speedy recovery.
karl Andrade fired Felixstowe ahead just before the break after home keeper Mcanally had made a number of saves to deny Mackenzie, Matthews, Hampson and Haighton as the visitors stepped up the tempo as the first half progressed.
Two minutes after the restart Matt Mackenzie steered home Seaman’s cross from the right and the visitors looked comfortable until a goalmouth scramble on 70 minutes led to Waters leaving the field to be replaced by Snell.  The home side pressed on and were rewarded on 84 minutes when Steve Holder headed home from Attwood’s corner to set up a nervous last few minutes for the travelling supporters.
Snell produced an excellent save low to his left at the expense of a corner as the Seasiders worked hard to defend their narrow lead and held on to earn their place in the second round draw.

Saturday 9th October 2010 – Ridgeons league Premier Division
 Felixstowe & Walton United  1 - 5  Newmarket Town  (1-0)
The Jockeys went Nap in the second half to move above the Seasiders in the table as the home side fell away after the interval. Leading at the break from Karl Andarde’s 36th minute penalty the home side looked comfortable having hit the woodwork twice and also having had a goal ruled out for offside.
Seaman saw the ball bounce back off the Newmarket cross-bar shortly after the interval as Felixstowe went close to increasing the lead but the sides were level on 55 minutes as Stephen Bell curled a free kick from 20 yards to the top corner of Waters’ goal. On 68 minutes the Jockeys were ahead as an attempted clearance was deflected into the home goal off a defender.
Felixstowe pressed forward with a goal line clearance required to deny Snell and Matthews but in defence the home side were all at sea with James Lane making it three from the penalty spot after the ball had been handled with fifteen minutes remaining. Three minutes later Lane added his second with a well taken shot from Bell’s cross and eight minutes from time Mark Mepham made it five from close range after the home side failed to clear their lines.

Tuesday 5th October 2010 – Ridgeons league Premier Division
 Felixstowe & Walton United  2 - 2  Leiston (0-1)
The Seasiders bounced back from Saturday’s heavy defeat to earn a well deserved point against fancied Leiston this evening. Simon Head put the visitors ahead from Cunningham’s low cross just before the half hour mark as they took the game to the home side. Stannard saved well to deny Hampson with Wardley making a goal line clearance from Seaman as the home side threatened towards the break and Waters in the home goal forced Block’s shot onto a post to keep the deficit to one goal at the interval.
Just before the hour mark the sides were level with Adam Hampson finding the top corner of Stannard’s net from 25 yards before Leiston regained the lead on 66 minutes when Simon Head got the vital touch from a corner kick.  A minute later Hammond received his second yellow and joined his Manager who had already been dismissed from the dug out. Mackenzie went close for the home side who continued to threaten and on 80 minutes Jordan Seaman on his debut lifted the ball over Stannard from six yards to bring the sides level. In time added on Turner headed onto the Leiston bar and Block placed his shot wide of an empty Felixstowe net following a poor clearance, but a late winner would have been rough justice for either side with a draw a fair result on the night.

Dan Spencer and Liam Butcher started in place of the absent Powell and Glencastle for the visit to UCL Division 1 side Huntingdon Town in the FA Vase. There was good travelling support from the East Coast for our first visit to the new Jubilee Park Ground. The new facilities were built about a year ago and with great potential for growth both on and off the pitch it will be interesting to watch the Club develop over the coming years. They certainly gave us a very warm and hospitable welcome on our visit, and we wish them every success for the future

The home side got off to the best possible start with a goal after just 48 seconds when a swift break, after the Seasiders had attacked from the kick off, saw Drane and Asher-Powell combine for Stuart Eason to score for Huntingdon. Felixstowe took time to settle, with Drane threatening to increase the home side’s lead,  but after being on the back foot for the first fifteen minutes the Seasiders began to exert pressure with Bloomfield and Smith probing through midfield and Hampson’s speed unsettling the home defence. Spencer was narrowly wide from Butcher’s cross and Beeny in the home goal had to be quickly off his line to deny Mackenzie after he had been put through by Bloomfield. The equaliser came on 16 minutes  when Crick slid in to intercept Hampson’s dangerous cross from the right only to turn the ball into his own net pictured.
A minute later Bloomfield had the ball in the home net but was ruled off-side and Mackenzie was close as the Seasiders went in search of the lead.  Jones did well to beat the ball away under pressure from Drane as half time approached and at the other end Crick defended well at the expense of a corner to block Bloomfield’s telling cross as both sides continued to create openings.

After an even first half the Seasiders increased the tempo winning a succession of corners and increasing the pressure on the home goal and on the hour they were ahead with Dan Spencer stooping low pictured to head home after Beeny had blocked Bloomfield’s initial shot from Hampson’s cross.
The home side’s cause was not helped when Thomas was booked for a foul on Burton on 71 minutes and as this was his second of the game it was followed by red. Huntingdon continued to look a threat on the break without testing Felixstowe keeper Jones and on 86 minutes Adam Hampson made the game safe sliding the ball under Beeny after resisting the challenge from Ryan Spencer.

A good all round workman like performance from the Seasiders after recovering well from the early reversal. Next match is the FA Cup tie at North Greenford next Saturday – there are just a few places left on the coach.

Saturday 11th September 2010 - FA Cup sponsored by e.on – 1st Qualifying Round
Felixstowe & Walton United  2 - 1  Wellingborough Town  (0-1)
The Seasiders are in the draw for the 2nd Qualifying round of the FA Cup following a spirited second half display which saw them come from behind at the break to win with goals from Adam Hampson and Joe Bloomfield.
The Doughmen took the lead through Dan Surridge on 34 minutes and deservedly held a narrow lead at the interval.  Cheered on by the best crowd of the season, 191, the Seasiders increased the tempo with Adam Hampson striking from outside the area on the hour to bring the sides level. With a replay at the Dog & Duck ground on Tuesday looking increasingly likely Joe Bloomfield struck with minutes remaining to see the Seasiders through.

An unchanged side was named for the visit of UCL Premier side Wellingborough Town in the 2nd Qualifying round of this season’s FA Cup. Since entering the FA Cup for the first time in 1977 this was only the second time the Seasiders had reached this stage, back in 1994 when defeat to Heybridge Swifts ended the run that season. I say run, but never before have the Seasiders won more than one FA Cup game in a season. In 1974 Haverhill Rovers were defeated in the 1st Qualifying round after a replay when Felixstowe had entered the competition at that stage.
With preliminary and Extra preliminary rounds in place both the Seasiders and Doughboys have this season come through two rounds to reach this stage. The visitors having defeated Ridgeon’s sides Kirkley & Pakefield and Haverhill Rovers en-route to Dellwood Avenue, so a tough challenge was expected.

The predicted rain failed to arrive and with a good crowd and Anglia TV again in attendance the game got underway in bright sunshine. Surridge for the visitors tested Jones in the first minute following a free kick with Ryland causing confusion in the visiting defence from the first corner kick of the game as the match started in lively fashion.   Mackenzie just failed to make contact with Hampson’s telling cross before a clash of heads between Ryland and Redding saw both require attention and the Felixstowe full-back carrying on with his head bandaged Alan Hunter style.

Jones saved from Boyle-Chong and Parkes was narrowly wide as the pressure increased on the home goal and it was no surprise when the visitors took the lead, Dan Surridge converting from Redding’s sharp low cross from the right at the near post on 34 minutes.
Tommy Smith went close for the home side but it was the visitors who impressed to the break holding a deserved lead.

Spencer replaced the injured Glencastle at half time making an immediate impression down the right flank.  Felixstowe’s increase in tempo served them well with opportunities increasing and just before the hour Adam Hampson pictured right produced a blistering shot from 20 yards to bring the sides level. Cheered on the home side pushed on with Powell producing a surging run from defence and just failing to gain the vital final touch. Powell and Davis again worked well together in defence and are fast developing into an excellent partnership.
Calver brought an excellent save from Markie in the visitors goal with Mackenzie following up seeing his shot cleared off the line by Spaughton. With time running down both sides went for the win and with ten minutes remaining Joe Bloomfield fired home the winner to send the home fans wild.

The game remained open to the end with both sides creating openings but defences held firm with the Seasiders receiving a rousing reception as they left the field.

Monday’s draw sees the Seasiders travel to North London to play North Greenford United from the Zameretto League Division 1 Central.

Well done Lads – you have all done the Club proud.

Wednesday 8th September 2010 – Ridgeons league Premier Division
Stanway Rovers   0 - 2  Felixstowe & Walton United  (0-1)
A goal in each half from Matt Mackenzie saw the Seasiders pick up three valuable points from the trip to the Hawthorns ahead of Saturday’s FA Cup tie. Liam Jones made a number of important saves to maintain a clean sheet and Tommy Smith saw his measured shot come back off a Stanway post in the closing minutes as the game maintained a high tempo to the close.

Only change to the Seasider’s line up saw Nathan Glencastle come in for the absent Jordan Matthews on a night when both sides were looking to gain league points in advance of FA Cup and Vase week-ends.

The home side started brightly with measured approach play orchestrated by Norfolk a feature of the first half. Thorne threatened from the kick off going close with an early effort and Jones had to be alert to palm away Clark’s long range shot as it took a fierce bounce off the pitch in front of him on 17 minutes. From the resulting corner the visitors took the lead as Jones claimed the ball and turned defence into attack through Ryland down the left. Home keeper Church intercepted but only cleared the ball as far as Matt Mackenzie who took full advantage to steer the ball under Church for the opener.
Clark fired wide after Thorne had created a good opening for Stanway and Jones was alert to claim the ball after Callander and Fitzgibbon linked well but it was the fast breaking Hampson, Bloomfield and Smith for Felixstowe that continued to look dangerous on the break with Mackenzie close to doubling the lead just before the break.

The second period started as the first with Stanway on the attack with Callander blasting wide and then forcing a good save from Jones at his near post at the expense of a corner. Having resisted the early pressure Felixstowe enjoyed a good spell with Calver bringing a save from Church and Davis heading narrowly over from Ryland’s free kick. Matt Mackenzie worked tirelessly in attack and after seeing a couple of shots go narrowly wide was rewarded with his second goal on 80 minutes chipping a high bouncing ball over the home defence.
Stanway pressed for a reply but it was Felixstowe who went closest to increasing their lead as Smith struck a post and Calver and Mackenzie both producing saves from Church.
A good all round performance from the Seasiders ahead of the FA Cup tie against Wellingborough at Dellwood Avenue on Saturday.

Saturday 4th September 2010 – Ridgeons league Premier Division
Debenham LC  3 - 0  Felixstowe & Walton United  (2-0)
It was down to earth with a bump for the Seasiders as Debenham ended their run of five defeats to claim all three points. Two first half goals from Chris Sadler put the Hornets on their way to victory with the Seasiders having two goals disallowed before Jamie Cole confirmed the win in injury time.

Hornets: Ben Vincent, Chris Sadler, Grant Monaghan, Rob Kemp, Shaun French, Edward Cussons, Kiefer Bultitude, Ian Gedny, James Heathcote, Dal Vince, Dave Cannon.
Subs: Danny Allen, Jamie Cole, Nathan Mills, Shaun Thurrold.

Seasiders: Liam Jones, Kristian Haighton, Matt Ryland, Tommy Smith, Miles Powell (Will Burton 82), Dan Davis, Martin Calver, Joe Bloomfield (Liam Butcher 76), Matt Mackenzie, Jordan Matthews (Andy Lewis 47), Adam Hampson.

Officials: J Turner, M Holmes, T McCreadie

The Seasiders welcomed back Miles Powell and Joe Bloomfield to the starting line up in place of the injured George McCallum and Dan Spencer who is away on Holiday.
Debenham went into today's match on the back of 5 straight defeats and were badly needing a confidence boosting result after a 7-0 loss at Kirkley in midweek and it was the Hornets who put early pressure on the visiting goal without testing Jones until the 10th minute when a flowing move from Debenham saw the lively Heathcote produce a diving save from Jones. A minute later the same player pounced on hesitant defending but this time failed to test the keeper.
At the other end
Felixstowe's first attack of the game saw Mackenzie agonisingly fail to get a touch to Hampson’s ball in after good work from Smith.

Mackenzie was in the action soon after as he shot wide of the far post from Hampson’s cross from the left. The Seasiders were giving the ball away too easily and in dangerous areas and it was no surprise when Chris Sadler gave the home side the lead, hitting his shot across Jones after more unease in the visitors defence.
Calver had the opportunity to equalise when put through by Matthews but saw his shot beat the goalkeeper and the post and on 37 minutes Debenham increased their lead, the unmarked
Chris Sadler heading in powerfully unchallenged from a corner.
On the stroke of half time
Felixstowe could and should have been level when Bloomfield saw his attempt deflect off the keeper and with the ball heading towards an empty net Calver, in an offside position, stooped to head the ball over the line.

Jordy Matthews suffered an ankle injury shortly into the second period and his replacement
Andy Lewis was quickly into the action but despite attempts by Hampson and Mackenzie the Seasiders were growing frustrated with the officials and their own play and were lucky to escape when Cannon capitalised on a defensive error by Powell before seeing his shot go wide when well placed.
The Seasiders so nearly gave themselves the lifeline they so badly needed when Lewis rose at the far post unmarked from Haighton's cross but guided the ball over the bar and shortly after Jones needed treatment to the face following an aerial challenge with a Hornets defender.

Bloomfield saw his weak free kick easily held by Vincent before he was replaced by Butcher who went into the referees book within a couple of minutes after a rash challenge.
Powell was replaced by Burton after picking up a knock and the Seasiders were denied a route back into the game on 84 minutes when Dan Davis' shot from the edge of the area beat the diving Vincent by the post only to be ruled out due to the assistant referee indicating a
Felixstowe player, stood in an offside position, was active when stood in front of the keeper.
Calver went close before Debenham wrapped up the win and 3 points in time added on, substitute Jamie Cole beating Jones from 20 yards.

It was a tale of what might have been for the Seasiders who created enough chances to come away with a result but failed to take them whereas Debenham did. The side will need to retain the ball better and convert those chances if they are to trouble Stanway on Wednesday evening at the Hawthorns.

Saturday 28th August 2010 - FA Cup sponsored by e.on - Preliminary Round
Felixstowe & Walton United  2 - 1  Team Bury  (0-0)
An injury time goal from Adam Hampson took the Seasiders through to the 1st Qualifying round after an evenly contested game looked to be heading for a replay at Ram Meadow.  With ITV Anglia covering the game there was little to test either keeper until the 78th minute when on the break Will Hitter claimed the lead for the visitors. The Seasiders responded quickly and within a minute were level through man of the match Jordan Matthews.
Both sides pushed on for the win but with time running down the draw looked certain until the tireless Hampson struck with seconds remaining to break the young Bury hearts.
The Seasiders now wait for the result of Tuesday’s replay to see if they are at home to Wellingborough Town or Haverhill Rovers in the next round.

Seasiders: Liam Jones, Kristian Haighton, Matt Ryland, Tommy Smith (Andy Lewis 14), Dan Davis, George McCallum (Liam Butcher 86), Martin Calver, Dan Spencer (Roger Burton 77), Matt Mackenzie, Jordan Matthews, Adam Hampson
Unused subs: Alex Ellwood, James Waters.

Davis, Mackenzie and Matthews returned to the Seasiders starting line up for the visit of Team Bury in the Preliminary round of this season’s FA Cup. The match started in bright sunshine with a good crowd in attendance and the young visiting team well supported.
Team Bury who had knocked out Ampthill Town in the last round were the first to attack with Clark showing his speed and Jones was quickly off his line to cut out the danger. McCallum headed over the visitors bar and Curry shot wide for Team Bury but there was little to concern either keeper until Hitter failed to get good contact on the best chance of the half five minutes before the break with credit to Jones for closing him down.

The game came to life in the final quarter just as Felixstowe were threatening to break the deadlock, when a long clearance found Will Hitter in space and on-side. The home defence could not catch him and the young Bury forward ran on to coolly drill the ball past the advancing Jones.

A single goal looked likely to win the game up to that point but within a minute it was all square with the influential Jordan Matthews scoring his third goal of this year’s competition pictured.
Both teams went for the win with Mackenzie just wide and Jones making an excellent save to deny Minns with Winfield firing the rebound wide.
With time running down and everyone making plans for a trip to Bury on Wednesday the persistent Adam Hampson pounced to score the winner deep into time added on.

After taking the lead this was cruel luck on the visitors but they can be proud of their first venture in the FA Cup and I’m sure we will be hearing much more of these young and talented players in the future.

As for the Seasiders many of them also teenagers and having come through the club’s youth system can take pride that they have won more FA Cup games for the Seasiders than have ever been won in a season before.

Tuesday 24th August 2010 - Ridgeons league Premier Division
Felixstowe & Walton United  1 - 3  Wivenhoe Town  (0-2)
The Dragons recorded their second win in four days taking them mid-table as they looked a stronger unit than last seasons relegation threatened side. The Seasiders started brightly with Spencer’s goal bound header palmed onto the bar by Wilding and Blake’s shot from the rebound clipping a post, but the Felixstowe back line came under increasing pressure from a very mobile Wivenhoe forward line and went behind on the half hour.
Jones got a strong fist on the ball from a corner but the ball fell to Mark Greenidge on the edge of the area and he produced an unstoppable volley to open the scoring. Strike partner Max Egbunda doubled the lead seven minutes later pouncing on a defensive mistake to slide the ball under the advancing Jones.
A good late spell from the Seasiders saw Hampson’s long range dipping shot well saved by Wilding from under his bar and when Miles Powell found the back of the net through a crowded goal mouth ten minutes from time the contest was back on.  Calver fired  over from eight yards as Felixstowe went in search of the equaliser but with three minutes remaining Wale Odedoyin converted from Egbunda’s cross to deservedly secure the points for the visitors.

Seasiders: Liam Jones, Kristian Haighton, Matt Ryland, Tommy Smith, Miles Powell, George McCallum, Martin Calver, Dan Spencer, Allicion Blake (Jordan Egerton 52), Liam Butcher (Andy Lewis 45), Adam Hampson

Saturday 21st August 2010 - Ridgeons league Premier Division
Kirkley & Pakefield  3 - 1  Felixstowe & Walton United  (1-1)
The Royals retained their unbeaten league record to claim second spot in the table but were tested by the high work rate of the mobile Seasiders. The home side dominated the early running and after Russell Stock fired them into a ninth minute lead it looked ominous for the visitors who were forced to make four changes from Tuesday's line-up. The Seasiders responded well and were level on 25 minutes after Lewis' shot was parried by Attridge into the path of Adam Hampson  who buried the ball from 12 yards. Felixstowe might have their extended their lead before the break but after the re-start the home side regained control with Liam Harvey-Cooper completing a solo run to score on 63 minutes and Russell Stock recording his second on 74 minutes.
The Seasiders battled to the final whistle for a reply with Bloomfield and Lewis going close but without testing Attridge in the home goal. A good performance from the visitors with the experience and strength of the Royals winning on the day.

Royals: David Attridge, David Tarawali, Scott Manning, Ryan De Coteau, Darren Cockrill (Joe Jefford 75), Scott Martin, Bodie Carter (Tarren Grint 45), Robert Horten, Russell Stock, Liam Harvey-Cooper, Jamie Stockeld (Alistair McKenna 72).

Having just obtained a settled side and three successive wins Kevin and Andy were forced to make further changes to the starting line up with Jordan Matthews, Miles Powell, Dan Davies and the injured Allicion Blake joining Matt Mackenzie on the absent list.

Tuesday 17th August 2010 - Ridgeons league Premier Division
FC Clacton  1 - 2  Felixstowe & Walton United  (0-0)
Another good team performance as the Seasiders extended their winning run to three games and brought to an end the home sides unbeaten run. An even first half with Turner closest for Clacton and Calver firing just wide of the home goal before the interval.
Increased pressure on the home goal after the break saw Felixstowe take the lead just after the hour mark when Rylands' free kick was headed home by Dan Spencer. The lead was short lived however as Sean Hillier three minutes later pounced on a loose ball following a corner to drill the ball past Jones for the equaliser. Both sides went for the win with Andy Lewis claiming the points for the visitors thirteen minutes from time with a shot across the home keeper Rutherford into the bottom of the net.

Clacton: Paul Rutherford, Keylan Marvell, Andy Taylor, Chris Ribchester, Lee Peacock, Liam Morley (Louie Newland 45), Scott Yearling, Mark White, Ray Turner, Sean Hillier, Karl Andrade.

One change in the Felixstowe line up with Andy Lewis coming in for the absent Mackenzie and taking his chance to score the third goal to secure the points and make it three wins on the bounce.

Saturday 14th August 2010 - FA Cup sponsored by e.on - Extra Preliminary Round
Felixstowe & Walton United  4 - 1  Mildenhall Town  (3-0)
The Seasiders were certainly 'Up for The Cup' claiming a fourth minute lead thanks to Matt Mackenzie and two goals from man of the match Jordan Matthews saw them three ahead on 22 minutes. Allicion Blake added the fourth shortly after the half time break with David Cooper pulling a goal back from the penalty spot on 54 minutes. Hall were a greater threat in the second half but could not add to their score with Felixstowe progressing to the preliminary round on Saturday 28th August.
In the next round the Seasiders will be at home to Team Bury, who were 2-1 winners over Ampthill Town. Winners of that match will be at home to Wellingborough Town or Haverhill Rovers.

Matt Mackenzie and Jordan Matthews returned to the starting eleven with Tommy Smith unavailable and Andy Lewis starting on the bench. The change had the desired effect with Mackenzie and Jordan posting a 3-0 lead for the home side within 23 minutes.

Both sides had seen a number of changes since they last met with youthful sides encouragingly playing skilful football with enthusiasm. Hall created the first clear opening on three minutes with Harvey and Murkin combining in a flowing move with Ross heading just wide of Jones' right hand upright.
Hampson produced a telling run down the left for the Seasiders in the fourth minute and his low cross was fired home by Matt Mackenzie pictured making no mistake from four yards.

Blake shot wide as the young Felixstowe forwards found space through the Hall back line and on 14 minutes Hampson was once again provider, finding Jordan Matthews who slid the ball under the advancing Pope from eight yards. Six minutes later Jordan Matthews pictured  added his second with a speculative shot from 25 yards which took a deflection to deceive Pope in the visitors goal.

Shaken Hall pressed forward with Ross and Turner working hard for an opening but Davis pictured and Ryland were quick to stem any Hall attack. Pope made two excellent saves to deny Blake and Mackenzie as the home side looked to increase their lead further before the interval.  Hall had the ball in the net following  a free kick only for it to be ruled off-side and were grateful to hear the half time whistle so they could re-group.

A double substitution at the break for the visitors but within two minutes of the restart Allicion Blake pounced and this time was not be denied placing the ball past Pope for the fourth. The visitors received a lifeline on 54 minutes when Davis' hand on the ball was adjudged to be intentional and David Cooper made no mistake from the penalty spot firing the ball home wide of Jones' outstretched left hand.

Encouraged Hall pressed forward enjoying their best spell of the game and if Turner's header on 65 minutes had found the net after beating Jones rather than the far post it might have been a different story. Jones saved well from Chris Barrett as the clock ran down and it was Hall's keeper Pope who made a triple save to prevent Felixstowe extending their lead before the final whistle.

Tuesday 10th August 2010 - Ridgeons league Premier Division
Brantham Athletic  0 - 1
Felixstowe & Walton United  (0-1)
Tommy Smith
scored the opening goal of the season for the Seasiders after 20 minutes at a rain soaked Brantham leisure centre. The home side saw plenty of possession, but once again Jones was in good form keeping a clean sheet to earn the visitors their first points of the season.

Brantham: Ryan Bedingfield, Jack Sibbons (Keiron Smith Edwards 83), Alex Drouet, James Long, Adam Bloss, Simon Mann, Patrick Brothers (Thomas Throsell 83), Justin Deeny, Lee Grimwood, David Grimwood, Sean Gunn (Remi Garrett 70).

Seasiders:
Liam Jones, Joe Bloomfield, Matt Ryland, Tommy Smith, Miles Powell, Dan Davis, Martin Calver, Dan Spencer (Matt Mackenzie 84), Alicion Blake (Liam Butcher 45),

Captain Martin Calver and Matt Ryland returned to the starting line up along with Andy Lewis in attack adding valuable experience to the side for the short trip south to newly promoted Brantham Athletic who were also looking for the their first points of the season.
Mackenzie, Butcher and Matthews started on the bench but all played their part in the first win for the
Kevin Witchalls and Andy Clarke Management partnership.

Heavy rain stopped for the start of the game with the pitch looking in good condition and the ball zipping quickly across the surface. Blake who had come through a late fitness test saw his header from Ryland's cross scrambled away by the home defence in the early exchanges which saw Brantham enjoy good possession with Davis alert to deny Lee Grimwood from Brothers' cross and Mann's shot deflected for the first corner of the game on twelve minutes.

Home keeper Bedingfield saved well to hold Calver's shot and as the game flowed Brothers saw his shot cannon back off a Felixstowe post after the busy David Grimwood had claimed the ball following sloppy play in the visiting defence.

Felixstowe enjoyed a good spell with  a number of players in attack and were rewarded with a goal on 20 minutes from Tommy Smith who steered Bloomfield's telling pass from the angle of the six yard area over Bedingfield to see the ball nestle in the far corner of the net.
The visitors went close to increasing their lead first through Blake and then Powell who saw his header from Bloomfield's corner strike the home cross bar.

Jones saved low at a post as Calver diverted David Grimwood's strike towards goal and with the half drawing to a close twice denied Lee Grimwood as the home side went in search of an equaliser.

The rain returned after the break with game losing it's shape and the Referees whistle more to the fore. Both sides created half chances and Grimwood and Brothers both went close but the Seasiders defended well to secure a win that will boost the confidence of the young side.

Saturday 7th August 2010 - Ridgeons league Premier Division
Felixstowe & Walton United  0 - 2  Ely City   (0-0)
The Robins scored twice in three minutes with less than ten minutes remaining to gain an away win from the opening game of the season. After an evenly contested 75 minutes the visitors increased the pressure on the home goal with Jones producing two good saves before Simon Warren opened the scoring on 81 minutes with substitutes Smith and Pettit combining for Andy Pettit to head home at the far post.
The Seasiders created a number of openings from neat build up play but failed to find the telling touch to test Pacey in the Ely goal. Despite the defeat there were many positives for
Felixstowe to take from the game and with the expected return of a couple of experienced players they are looking forward to Tuesday's trip to newly promoted Brantham Athletic.

Seasiders:

Both teams showed a number of changes from the line-up when the sides last met at Dellwood Avenue at the end of March. Only keeper Liam Jones remained from the Seasiders starting eleven with six changes for the Robins. Indeed Jones was the
only player on show today to feature in the final game of last season.
Alicion Blake starting today came off the bench in March to score the second goal in a 2-0 win over the Robins, a result which was avenged today. Joe Bloomfield also started today having been named as a substitute last time round.

The Seasiders named a number of very promising local players who had come through the youth team ranks at the club with many including Mackenzie, Butcher, Smith, Powell and Matthews having tasted senior action last season. Hampson, a regular last season, was also in the starting eleven with Dan Spencer making a welcome return to the club. Dan Davies at the heart of the defence provided experience and had an excellent game on his league debut for the club.

The morning rain cleared to provide a dry afternoon for the return of league action to Dellwood Avenue with a good crowd anticipating a close game. First chance fell to Chadwick for the visitors but off balance he failed to find the target at the far post and placed his header wider. Blake saw shots from distance clear the Ely cross bar and Robbins saw his cross skim the home bar on the quarter hour as both sides created half chances with neither keeper severely tested.

Dan Davies blocked Impey's shot as he continued to impress in defence with Captain Jones marshalling the defence with authority in front of his goal and was well positioned to punch the ball clear following Johnston's deep free kick.
The Seasiders passed the ball well with Spencer making a number of good runs and Mackenzie and Smith both had shots that narrowly beat the far post after good build up play. but at the break there was nothing to separate the sides and it remained all square.

Warren cleared from Tommy Smith at the expense of a corner as the Seasiders started the second half on the front foot  with Blake's shot on the turn blocked by the keeper. The game continued to flow end to end until the introduction of Pettit and Smith from the Ely bench produced an increase in pressure on the home goal with Jones on 75 minutes saving acrobatically to palm Johnston's header over the bar.

The breakthrough came with ten minutes remaining when Captain Simon Warren met Johnston's cross for the opener. Mackenzie was close to a quick equaliser but could not provide sufficient weight to his shot, following a deep cross from Bloomfield, which was easily collect by Pacey in the Ely goal.

A short throw from Lawrence found Smith in space and his deep cross was headed home by Andy Pettit at the far post to secure the win and the points. The Seasiders went in search of a reply with Dixon turning Bloomfield's dangerous cross into the area away for a corner and Warren blocking Mackenzie's late drive but Ely held firm to record a clean sheet and three first day points.
