Two first half goals saw Ransomes lift the Cup despite a strong second half performance from the Seasiders.  Remeal opened the scoring after four minutes with Ransomes taking the game to the Seasiders and winning a succession of corners before doubling their lead through Barber's well struck shot from the left of the area 12 minutes later. Mackenzie went close to a reply but Ransomes were good value for their interval lead.
After the break it was different story with Ransomes defending in depth as Kemp and Jordan both struck the cross bar with excellent dipping shots and Mackenzie went close on a number of occasions, but a reply would not come and Ransomes, looking dangerous on the break, maintained a clean sheet to lift the Cup.
