If you like the beauty and wildlife of the Scottish Borders and enjoy
being in the countryside Fernyrig Farm B&B is the place for you.
You will receive a warm welcome from the hosts.
The house is set adjacent to a farm steading with pleasant gardens
and horse paddocks. It is no longer a working farm but the owners
Anne and Kevin Mills keep a horse called James, a Whippet called Jake, cat,
Guinea Fowl and their own free-range
hens which provide wonderful eggs for breakfasts. Fruit and
vegetables are also produced from the glasshouse and vegetable garden
There is ample parking space for cars and extensive outbuildings
where bicycles can be stored. Fernyrig farm is situated on
the route of the "Coast and Castles" cycle route which is part of the
National Cycle Network.
Fernyrig has been extensively updated to make a warm and
comfortable home with great character. The house is adjacent
to a very quiet minor road and is surrounded by woodland and open farmland.
There are frequent visits to the vicinity by deer, hares, buzzards, owls
and many small birds. The beautiful gardens feature lawns, Old
English Roses and mixed perennial borders and guests are encouraged to
enjoy the facilities. There are garden seats and tables which
provide a quiet refuge to sit and relax.
There are numerous options for walking locally and the famous River
Tweed is just a mile away.
Fernyrig Farm B & B has been assessed as 3 star by Visit Scotland.
