| Fernyrig Farm is ideally situated for golf, fishing,
walking, bird-watching, cycling, horse riding and horse racing.
There are golf courses at the Hirsel in Coldstream, Kelso and the
Roxburgh is not far way. There are also many other courses within
easy reach. There are some wonderful deals available for
holidaying golfers under the "Freedom of the Fairways Scheme"

In the first full week of August each year Coldstream presents its
civic week. There are many activities which are centred on daily
horse ride-outs to local villages and places of interest. There
are many other attractions during the week including a fireworks
display. fancy dress parade and art shows.
We are just a mile (1.6Km) North of the famous River tweed which is
one of the best salmon rivers in Europe. Fishing for Salmon,
Sea Trout and Brown Trout is very popular and many fisherman use
Fernyrig Farm as a base for their sport. we can help to arrange
fishing on request.
Fernyrig is situated on the "Coasts and Castles" cycle route so is ideal for
cyclists.
Horse riding is available locally for riders of varying levels of
experience. Anne has her own horse and will be pleased to advise
interested people of the facilities locally.
Kelso has a very friendly race course which is becoming more and more popular.
Kevin and Anne have been keen hill walkers and will happily provide
details of a number of different walks available locally or not too far
away in the Cheviot hills or on the coast to suit all tastes.
There are several stately homes in the area such at Floors Castle,
Manderston, Paxton House and Mellerstain and we are within easy reach of
Norham Castle and Bamburgh Castle.
In the local village of Birgham (1.5 miles) there is an excellent
warm and welcoming pub the "Fishermans Arms" which serves excellent food
