Honours : Home Pitch : Simpson/Jericho Lane Colours : Green and White Hoops See Match Reports below:
15 Sep. Halewood 7-2
This was a very pleasing result as
Halewood beat us twice last season and we felt that we owed them one. The
lads played some very good football and scored seven very good goals. no tap
ins or stuffy ones in this game even halewoods goals were good!
The only downside with the boys
playing so well is that it makes picking man of the match a nightmare, I
had almost all of them in contention. In the end i bottled it
and let the lads choose man of the match and they gave the
award to Wainy, Not just because he scored four goals but his all round
performance was superb.
Team :Dom Fyles,Cal Taylor, Chris jackson, Matty
Smith, Danny Vaughan, Bradley Owen, Tom Johnson, Luke Stephens, Andy Harper,
Matty Hodgkinson, Liam Wainwright.
Subs, jason Eaton, Matty Shore, Billy Williams,
Scott Griffiths...
22 Sep. Gilmour 6-1
We got off to a very bad start in this game, we looked out of it and were fortunate not to be more than one down. It took us ten minutes to settle and as I've said we were already a goal down, but once we got going we were very good scoring three before half time and playing some very good football.
In the second half we
carried on as we finished the previous half playing great football and totally
dominating the opposition and scoring another three goals.
As in the previous game
the whole team played very well so again picking man of the match was again
very difficult Andy Harper was superb, as usual, but he just gets edged out by
Luke Stephens who got us going when we needed it and played
some good football when we were dominating.
Well done boys, again
your football was a pleasure to watch.....
Team: Dom Fyles, Andy
harper, Chris Jackson, Billy Williams, Danny Vaughan, Thomas Johnson, Luke
Stephens, Bradley Owen, james Murphy, Liam Wainwright, Scott Griffiths.
Subs; Jason Eaton, Matty
Smith, Calum Taylor, Matty Shore, Matty Hodgkinson
29 Sep. Finn Harps 4 Fur & Feather 0
Well done boys. This was
a very good result against a team that will be challenging for the title at
the end of the season. Fur and feather are a good side and we beat the
convincingly, though it was anything but easy.
Just as pleasing as the
result is the style of football played, it was a joy to watch. One
of the parents told me that he would watch football like this even if his son
was not involved! Though he stopped short of saying he would 'pay to watch' so
still room for improvement. Also very pleasing is the clean sheet, well done
goalie and defenders.
Man of the match is
becoming a weekly headache because as a squad of players you are playing very
well every week and today's game was no exception. But in the end Fisher just
pipped Matty Hodge and Scott for the award.
Well done all of you.
Your effort and attitude was very good today...
Team; Dom Fyles, Cal
Taylor, Bradley Owen, Chris Jackson, Andy Harper, Matty Shore, james Murphy,
Luke Stephens, Ste Fisher, Scott Griffiths, Matty Hodgkinson.
Subs
Billy Williams, Matty Smith, Danny Vaughan, Jason Eaton, Thomas Johnson, Liam
Wainwright.
6 Oct Marshall 8-1
Another good display
continuing our excellent start to the season, Marshalls have improved this
season and we had to work hard to break them down, but once we got going and
started to get a few goals the result was never in doubt.
There were lots of
good performances from the lads Liam Wainwright again playing well and
scoring a couple of goals, Andy Harper gave his usual superb display Luke,
Calum and Matty Shore continued their good start to the season but man of
the match was easy to pick this week as Stephen Fisher was outstanding and
got the award for the second week running.
team; Tom Johnson,
Calum Taylor, Bradley Owen, Matty Smith, Andy Harper, Luke Stephens, Ste
Fisher, James Murphy, Matty Shore, Liam Wainwright, Matty Hodgkinson.
Subs; Jason Eaton,
Danny Vaughan, Billy Williams, Chris Jackson, Dom Fyles
13 Oct Belle Vale Youth 8-0
Belle Vale
Youth are a new side and we were expected to win comfortably, we achieved
this without playing as well as we can. We struggled to break them
down in the first half and went into the break 1-0 up. The second half was
an improvement and after a couple of goals went in we relaxed and played
some decent football.
Team:Andy Harper,
Calum Taylor, Jason Eaton, Chris Jackson, Danny Vaughan, Matty Shore,
Billy Williams, Ste Fisher, Luke Stephens, Scott Griffiths, Tom Johnson.
Subs; Liam Wainwright, Matty Hodgkinson, James Murphy, Matty Smith. 27 Oct Oasis 7-0 Another good all round team performance against a team that has improved since we last played.
All the lads played
well, yet again, making picking man of the match difficult so Matty Shore
and Scott Griffiths share the award this week.
Team: Dom
Fyles, Cal Taylor, Chris Jackson, Jason Eaton, Bradley Owen, Luke
Stephens, Ste Fisher, Tom Johnson, Billy Williams, Liam Wainwright, Scott
Griffiths.
Subs; Danny Vaughan,
Andy Harper, Matty Shore, James Murphy

Nov Mossley Hill 2-0
Match Report;
Well done lads this
was a very good win which we deserved on the day. Mossley are a very
good side, they are the defending champions and current Champions
League holders, but we played so well that they did not have a single
chance of any note in the game. Whereas we created chances and played the
better football throughout the game. The goals were provided by Matty
Hodgkinson who chipped the keeper and Chris who scored with a header from
very close range after Wainy kept the ball in when almost everyone else
had given it up.
Even though this was
a very good all round team performance Matty Hodge edges the man of the
match award, just ahead of the other fourteen players who played on the
day
Team; Dom Fyles, Cal
Taylor, Chris Jackson, Andy Harper, Bradley Owen, Scott Griffiths, Luke
Stephens, Ste Fisher, Matty Shore, Liam Wainwright, Matty Hodgkinson.
Subs; Matty Smith,
James Murphy, Tom Johnson, Danny Vaughan
17 Nov Marshalls 6-3
We started very
slowly and found ourselves two goals down within five minutes. This kick
started us into action and by half time we had scored three goals
through Billy, Luke and Matty Hodge, though we conceded another to make
it 3-3 at half time.
The second half
was much better as we scored three without reply, Fisher 2 and Scott the
other, to give us the victory we deserved,
Team Dom
Fyles, Cal Taylor, Jason Eaton, Andy Harper, Bradley Owen, Matty Shore,
James Murphy, Luke Stephens, Ste Fisher, Matty Hodgkinson, Billy
Williams.
Subs Scott
Griffiths, Liam Wainwright
24 Nov
Mayfield 3-3
We were
absolutely terrible in the first 10 minutes and Mayfield scored 3
goals in this period. At 3-0 down we started to play
creating numerous chances scoring 3 to draw level but crucially we
missed the rest and so dropped our first points of the season. We
must learn that we cannot underestimate the opposition or we will
get bitten like we did today.
Team Danny
Vaughan, Cal Taylor. Chris Jackson, Matty Smith, Brad Owen, Luke
Stephens, Ste Fisher, Matty Shore, Andy Harper, Scott Griffiths,
Matty Hodgkinson.
Subs Jason
Eaton, Billy Williams
5 Jan Belle Vale Yth 12-0
This was a very pleasing
performance because in our last few games before the
Christmas break we were well below are usual standard. Belle Vale
Youth are a new team and at times this showed, but we played good
football throughout the game.
We play Belle Vale's first team
next week and this result will give us lots of confidence going into
this match.
Team; Tom Johnson, Calum Taylor,
Chris Jackson, Matty Smith, Bradley Owen, Scott Griffiths, Luke
Stephens, Andy Harper, Matty Shore, Liam Wainwright, Matty Hodgkinson.
Subs: Jason Eaton, Billy
Williams, James Murphy and Stephen Fisher
1 Mar Oasis 4-2
The conditions
had a big impact on this game making very difficult to play our usual
passing game. The team which dealt with the conditions were always
going to win and thankfully that was us.
Team; Dom Fyles,
Calum Taylor, Bradley Owen, Luke Stephens, Andy Harper, Stephen
Fisher, Andy Cavanagh, Billy Williams, James Murphy, Jason Eaton,
Scott Griffiths,
Subs Matty
Smith, Joe Edwards & Liam Wainwright
