15 Sep.    Marshalls 5-0

A very good team performance. All the lads played very well today, our football going forward was great to watch and we defended well as a team. Jonno got a hat trick and could have got a couple more had luck gone his way, Matty Hodgkinson scored the goal of the game with a great strike, but it was Scott Griffiths who ran the game from centre midfield and scored a great individual goal who earned the man of the match award.

Team Alex Evans, Calum Taylor, Andy Harper, Joe Moorcroft-Moran, Matty Smith, Alex Ross, Matty Hodgkinson, Chris Jackson, Matty Shore, Scott Griffiths, Jonno Walters.

Subs Jason Eaton, Ibou Tourey, Bradley Owen.

22 Sep.    Halewood 4-0

Due to various unforeseen events we were down to just the bare eleven for this match. As a result a number of the lads were asked to play in positions which they are not used to. This makes the result, and the performance, very pleasing. We played very well scored good goals and worked very hard. Jake scored on his Finn Harps debut, Scott was again in good form and scored twice and Ibou scored his first goal for the club. Man of the match award goes to Joe Moorcroft-Moran who gave a flawless display from the centre of defence.

Team; Alex Evans, Calum Taylor, Andy Harper, Joe Moorcroft-Moran, Matty Smith, Alex Ross, Joe Edwards, Jason Eaton, Jake Burquest, Ibou Tourrey, Scott Griffiths

29 Sep    Fur and Feather 3-5

What a great game of football this was! Fur and Feather have a very good team this year and they ran us ragged in the first half, they were first to every ball won every header played the better football and deserved their half time lead.
At half time the lads were told that in order to win (or at least not to be embarrassed). we had to show more commitment and to fight for every ball.
Every player improved by 100% in the second half. We took the game to Fur and Feather and with a bit more luck we could have won or got a draw out of this game. We had a strong penalty appeal turned down and a great free kick by Luke disallowed (the ref said that he gave it indirect for an accidental pull of the shirt??).
While we are disappointed that we got beat our second half display gives us a lot of satisfaction. when we play like that it will take a very good team to beat us.
Finally well done Fur and Feather you played very well, we will look forward to the return fixture.

4 Oct    Belle Vale    0-0

A good performance against a very good team. Belle Vale are the current champions of almost everything South Liverpool league double winners, Champions League & Knowsley International to name a few.
Both teams worked very hard trying to play good football but in the end cancelled each other out. Finn Harps had the better chances in the first half, with Belle Vale having the better in the second. So in the end the draw seems a fair result.
Man of the match was a close call, there were good performances all over the pitch but in Jake just edged out Joe MM to take the bag of chips trophy (a one pound coin).
Team; Alex Evans, Cal Taylor, Andy Harper, Chris Jackson, Joe Moorcroft-Moran, Jake Burquest, Luke Stephens, Tom Johnson, Matty Hodgkinson, Matty Shore, Jonno Walters.
Subs Jason Eaton, Matty Smith, Ibou Tourrey, Alex Ross

11 Oct    Dunlops    5-1

It was nice to get a win after a loss and draw in our last two games. We played well and controlled the game throughout, even though we went a goal down early on. The goals we scored were all good, Jake and Alex scored with great strikes and Matty's hat trick was as much down to the supply from his team mates as much as his excellent finishing.
It was very hard to sort out the man of the match award as almost all the lads played well. Cal had a very good first half and would have been in contention had he been as good in the second, Jake,  Matty Shore and Ibou all had a good game but they have been edged out by Matty Hodgkinson and Scott who were excellent.

Subs; Jason Eaton, Alex Ross, Matty Smith

25 Oct    Springwood 0-2

We played very well in this game! All our line said so, a couple of the Spingwood parents said so, our players said so! So how did we loose?? We gave away a very silly goal early on, did not put our chances away, had two good goals not given and then as we were chasing the game late on Springwood got another and killed the game off.
I can't critisise the lads because as I have already said we played well, nobody misses chances deliberately and nobody gives silly goals away deliberately these things just happen. It was just not our day, and when you play teams of Springwoods quality not only do you need to play well but you need a bit of luck as well!!!!
Team Alex Evans, Cal Taylor, Chris Jackson, Andy Harper, Matty Shore, Jake Burquest, Luke Stephens, Alex Evans, Ibou Tourrey, Matty Hodgkinson, Jon Walters. Subs; Jason Eaton, Thomas Johnson, Andy Kavanagh
