I have received a letter from the Marine and Fisheries Agency. Below is an extract.

"I would be grateful if you would remind your members that it is illegal to sell sea fish caught on any boat other than a registered and licensed commercial fishing vessel and that the current maximum fine for such an offence is £50 000. Illegal activities of this nature are deemed to be the responsibility of both the skipper and the owner of the vessel involved as well as the individual offender."

AGM Wednesday March 19th, 8pm at Southern Vectis Social Club. Propositions.
Proposition 1

I would like to propose that 10 out of the 12 shore competitions count for the overall championship. The reason that I am proposing this is that some people may miss a competition due to family commitments or holidays etc. This may result in losing the championship or making the top ten. Proposed by Ainsley Bennett and seconded by Michael Bennett.

Proposition 1 defeated

Proposition 2

I propose that Competition Rule 14 be changed so that the size limit for smoothhounds be raised to 36" in all competitions.
This proposal could become effective immediately for club Open competitions but it would only apply to shore competitions with effect from 1st January 2009. Proposed  Andy Wenden seconded  Kevin Basham

Proposition 2 carried (36 inch size limit for Opens this year, 30 inches for monthly shore comps.)
