My wife, Debbie, after a long absence has expressed an interest in touring with me again by bike. Since the FJ1200 no longer has rear pegs and the Thunderace was not really practical for us, another bike had to be found.
I was interested in the FJR1300, but unless your pillion has pretty short legs, the room at the back is quite poor. Even for a short-arse such as me (I'm about 5'7"), the FJR requires you to bend your legs quite markedly. It's almost like a sportbike pillion.
I looked around and prefering to stick with Yamaha remembered the GTS. A few e-mails later and some good advice from the 'good guys' on the GTS list, found me road testing and buying my '95 GTS in, well a sort of mauvy blue !
There's some great GTS sites out there (I hope to create links to these later) and don't wish to duplicate things that are being done elsewhere and probably better. However here is the start of my attempt to fill some gaps.
2. GTS Road Tests (Under Construction)
A humble start I know, but hopefully some useful stuff will emerge.
Incidentally, I have large amounts of webspace
available, so any contributions, pictures etc are more than
welcome.![]()
