The foundation stone of St Peter's was laid in on St Peter's Day 1892 and the Bishop of Chichester consecrated the Church on 31 May 1893. It is surrounded by a small green. It is of stone-clad/brick construction with a high timber/tile roof. Crawley Borough Council recently set up the St Peter's Church Conservation Area and the Church is represented on the C4 Committee, which covers four conservation areas in the centre of the town. The Church has been reordered and in 1984 a project commenced to incorporate a hall, committee room, kitchen and toilets within the building. This was completed in 1991. Following this the outside of the building has been completely repointed. There is a sustained commitment by the congregation to maintain the fabric of our Church building. A faculty has been applied for to repair the floor in the chancel and treatment of furniture beetle in the roof and hopefully work will start in the autumn.
