Probable 4,000 extra car movements a day at the turning point into the Tesco entrance.
Narrowing of High Street at point of entry into Tesco
Daily, eight large lorries plus other delivery trucks to site
Reduction of parking places in the High Street – particularly affecting
residents who have no private parking spaces and
workers who park on the High Street all day.
Increased traffic on all roads, bringing congestion, making it difficult to cross the road and increasing the dangers
to children,
to mothers pushing prams and
to ‘slow’ walkers.
More traffic and particularly heavy traffic increases the vibration to the buildings,
why build a by-pass to remove heavy traffic from Angel Street and High Street, partly to protect buildings and then a few years on encourage traffic back into the town?
