THE FUTURE IN FOSSOWAY

After touring the communities of Crook of Devon, Drum, Powmill and Blairingone with members of Fossoway Community Council [15/9], George Reid MSP said that he shared residents’ concerns about proposed developments in the area.

"The extra housing proposed by the Kinross-shire local plan raises major issues about the management of traffic, schooling, amenity and housing".

"This is an area where there has already been significant ‘creeping development’ in small pockets of five houses or less over the past decade".

"I am also determined that the River Devon – a valued biological and recreational resource – should not become a sewage conduit".

Mr Reid will shortly raise the whole issue with planning officials of Perth and Kinross Council. When similar proposals for extended housing were advanced in the Clackmannan and Stirling draft plan for Blairlogie and Manor Powis, Mr Reid and his constituency assistant Councillor Susan Love successfully opposed them.
