The Friends of Temple Newsam Park was formed in 1999. We have a membership of over 400 households mainly from around Leeds and Yorkshire but with some from much further afield where people who have known the Park wish to support their aims.
Our aims are;
As well as trying to exert pressure to help minimise the adverse effects of some of the events held in the Park on its flora, fauna and fabric we are becoming more involved in practical projects which help to maintain and improve the Estate.
The
Management Plan for the Park, drawn up by Leeds Metropolitan University,
hopefully will give us the opportunity to further help protect and develop its
facilities for future generations.
We
are an associate member of Leeds Civic Trust.
Your support, by becoming a member, would be warmly welcomed.
Communicate with the Council and other interested bodies about matters relating to the condition of the Estate.
Arrange
talks for members by the Park staff relating to various aspects of the
Estate.
Organise
guided walks for members through various sections of the Park.
You are invited to join a growing number of people who wish to protect and preserve Temple Newsam Park. All who care for the Park will be warmly welcomed as members.
Membership
is £5.00 per household per year.
For further information please email the Membership Secretary at doreen@butler7124.fsnet.co.uk giving your name, address and telephone number. An application form for membership of the Friends will be sent to you.
