![]() Howdy! It's been a while... Well, there's a fair bit to catch up on since the last update. First off, those of you in the vicinity of the marvellous Windmill in Brixton tomorrow should get yourselves down there for The Rest Is Noise (click here for a flyer). It's free entry and you'll get to hear two amazing new songs, "Trapped In The Timeline" and "Faketown's In Meltdown". Those of you near Brighton next Monday (27th) should get to Jam where you can also hear the new songs. There'a also an October tour (with Ace Bushy Striptease) where you'll hear quite a few of the songs planned for the 2nd album (more on that at a later date!). If you live in a town that begins with B, chances are there's a gig near you. This tour also features the band's very first Manchester date! Don't miss it! Full tour details are on the gigs page. Posted 22 September 2010 For those of you who follow the band on Facebook or Twitter, you'll be pleased to know that rather than just being a RSS feed of what Dan posts on MySpace, it's now actually being done by Dan himself! So, if you eant the chance to interact with him, "like" the FB page, or follow him on Twitter (see the Twitter feed on the left there for an example of the nonsense Dan posts). Posted 20 June 2010 As we all know, Dan has been looking for new Magicians to replace Sam and Alex. And now Ivan, too. Luckily, he's done just that! Confirmed by Dan on the band's MySpace, the all new 4 or 5 Magicians are... Ben Gregory on bass James Thomas on drums This line-up should be the one to record the second album, which Dan is hoping to record at the end of the summer. With 9 songs already done and dusted - in Dan's head, at least - this will hopefully be out early 2011. Though if the wait is anything like it was for the first album, we might have it in time for the Olympics! If 2011 seems to far off to hear these tracks, then get yourself down to the gigs in Brighton (June 4th) and London (July 9th) where you may just hear one or two. Or 4 or 5. Posted 31 May 2010
Posted 7 May 2010 So, quite a bit has happened since the last update... Gigs have been cancelled, new gigs have been announced, Sam and Alex have left and a new drummer has been announced! The new drummer is James Thomas, formerly of Sludgefeast. You can see him in action on the band's MySpace. Also, a reminder that you can see the old line-up (Dan, Sam, Alex, Ivan and (possibly) Graham) one last time at The Windmill in Brixton on April 1st. The following day is Good Friday, so no need to worry about it being a school night! The plan is to play the album in it's entirety and tickets are a bargain £4/£8 on the door (£8 tickets get a copy of Empty, Derivative Pop Songs!) And if you can play guitar and fancy being in a band tipped by the NME to be massive, then get in touch with Dan at fourorfivemagicians[at]hotmail[dot]co[dot]uk. Posted 24 February 2010 Happy New Year and all that jazz... Just a quick update that Dan has announced a couple of solo shows for later this month. So, if you're in the Taunton or Barnstaple areas, make sure you get down to see him. For details of when/where/who with, check out the gigs page.
